Flynny Posted 29 August 2007 Posted 29 August 2007 People are saying It doesn't matter and we will have forgotten about Allen if the new man strings together some decent results, but I don't see it like that.Allen was a great man for our club, he had already built a great relationship with the fans, and it was clear that he was beyond happy. This was noticeable when he came out against Watford, and just stood there receiving the applause that he deserved, also in his "Manager Updates" that are going to be missed. Thanks Martin for what you did in your short space of time, you were a real breath of fresh air, and you created a buzz around the City. Well said man. Allen's appointment and rapport with the fans generated far more of a buzz than Milan's takeover ever did. That Q&A night was a fantastic idea and had me well up for the season ahead. The club had a soul for the first time in years and Milan's just ripped it out.
Unit Posted 29 August 2007 Posted 29 August 2007 I CANT BELIEVE THAT COMMENT ABOUT US GETTIN STUFFED. THATS A JOKE. SURELY! well, yeah it was, they can out-play us as long as we win.
Webbo Posted 29 August 2007 Posted 29 August 2007 I was never 100% convinced of him as a manager, but I have to say I really liked the guy. We'll never know how good a manager he could of been but I'm damn certain he would of been better than whoever we get next. Thanks for the laughs Martin.
The Stig Posted 29 August 2007 Posted 29 August 2007 It was also nice to have a manager with a personality after Craig "Laugh a minute" Levien and Rob "Crack a joke" Kelly
DB11 Posted 29 August 2007 Posted 29 August 2007 Cheers MA. The greatest and most passionate manager we've had in a long long time. Hope he does well in the future, but MM had better get a manager who gets us promoted this season for me to forgive him!
JoeyB Posted 29 August 2007 Posted 29 August 2007 Thanks alot martin! Would be really nice tho' if he came out and told us what exactly happened tho! but it aint gona happen
adam Posted 29 August 2007 Posted 29 August 2007 Never seen support for a manager at this club since Oneil. Gutted. Hope you prove our chairman wrong. Gonna miss the 'Martin Allen Speaks' feature on OS too. Take Care as you'd say!!
Tommeh Posted 29 August 2007 Posted 29 August 2007 Thanks martin, top guy and football needs more people like you in it. It's been a mad 3 months with you at the helm and I was hoping for more like 6 years. It's been brief and nice, just a pity our chairman didn't share the views with the vast Majority of fans. Its been a better 3 months with you than the previous 6 years with Taylor, Adams, Levein and Kelly. Hope you find another job, You are a massive loss to Leicester.
Unabomber Posted 29 August 2007 Posted 29 August 2007 Its been a better 3 months with you than the previous 6 years with Taylor, Adams, Levein and Kelly.Hope you find another job, You are a massive loss to Leicester. Very true, I really hope the man does well and is actually given time to manage a fairly big club, he deserves it.
Sods Posted 29 August 2007 Posted 29 August 2007 ................................and all you fookin twats starting threads and posting shit while the server was struggling to cope! There was one topic of conversation so wtf did you have to overload the system with about 4 next manager threads and 5 next manager threads? Again thanks to Martin Allen I get the feeling you may be the one having the last laugh. Because you didnt
Wezleylowski Posted 29 August 2007 Posted 29 August 2007 Martin i love you, you cant leave us like this. You where the one to take us forward and Milan was just being an old twat. You are a true legend and hope you fall on your feet and your new side hammer us.
Daggers Posted 29 August 2007 Posted 29 August 2007 Yea Martin - thank for the flowers I haven't seen the Management consultant I thought was a waste of time the first home win since March that I missed the entertaining press conferences where you welcomed players to the club that you had no hand in signing the goalkeeper and the left-back that I think are the only players you brought to the club the hanging baskets outside the stadium and cold ice-baths, neither of which will have any effect on the team performance If I give you thanks for anything then it is for two things: raising my hopes for the future - only to see them dashed. Again. the demise of the Thracian point system
Lord Nibblington Posted 29 August 2007 Posted 29 August 2007 [*]the demise of the Thracian point system I fear we may not have seen the end of the system. He now has his final MA total to compare the new guy with. And the obligatory 100 points Beaglehole will no doubt pick up for Saturday.

Toby or not Toby Posted 29 August 2007 Posted 29 August 2007 Cheers for freshening things up and also for signing my cast at the Quorn game
Tommy G Posted 29 August 2007 Posted 29 August 2007 I think it boils down to the fact that Martin Allen said 'No' to Milan, simple as On a serious not I think MM has f^cked up here and basically shown MA who's boss and Martin didn't like that. It's difficult to tell because LCFC aren't leaking much. All I know is that I doubt we will get a better manager as our club isn't particularly attractive to come to anymore..More worryingly is how this will affect the players mentally, especially after what happened last night too. I doubt we will sign any new players before the transfer window, considering we dont have a decent left side now is a very worrying prospect until january. All those expecting Clarke to play again should forget it, not for a very long time anyway even if there is a very very slim chance. What a contrast today has been since sat at 4.45pm eh?

Just a bit, did milan watch the game. Did he hear the fans. Arrggggggggh i keep going into rage. I cant wait for plymouth now.
Durnerz Posted 29 August 2007 Posted 29 August 2007 A charismatic and passionate Manager who I thought deserved a heck of a lot more than what was given. Four and a bit games are nothing. I hope Martin uses this to kick on at another club and become a success at the highest level to show Milan what a prat he's been. Characters and styles like Martin Allens are a rare commodity in todays game blighted by foreign and scared to be opinionated managers. You will be missed and i'm sure you had a lot more to give this club.
Sods Posted 29 August 2007 Posted 29 August 2007 No more manager speaks No more 5-A-Side No more passion from the touchline No more being proud of what he says No more Mk Dons fans!!!!!!!!!
weiba80 Posted 29 August 2007 Posted 29 August 2007 DISASTER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! well money really does talk then , eh?............... leicester needed something, and that something IMO was MA, maybe not the most tactically gifted but what a character. put leicester on the map and got some media and brought the cameras back to the walkers. all i can say is that i am gutted, thought this was the man, another MON, am sitting here in CHINA at 6 in the morning after a nights drinking in disbelief!!! MM better have a good reason for this, money and fame is one thing, profit margins another. but this is more than that. this is peoples lives and dreams and what is held dear to them, i thought MA was a stand up guy and i am so so so so so so so gutted he has gone. if this turns out to be because of some players MA didnt want i am going to petiton for MM resignation! i am not joking. to do something like this within 24 hours of clive clark colapsing is just wrong and no money on this earth will change my mind!!!!!!!!!! although we dont really know what happened behind the scenes the timing is awful and IF its because of some shitty has been players that MM wanted ( although thats really the managers job) i am really disapointed that nobody else got involed. i would just like to thank MARTIN ALLEN for making me believe in what could have been. i wish him all the best and will support him where ever he goes, you really are a diamond mate. and would be happy to call you a friend (if knew you, hahahah) . and i wish you and your family the best of luck whereever you go,
Vacamion Posted 29 August 2007 Posted 29 August 2007 Wrong wrong wrong... Good luck Martin, wherever you go. Anyone who appoints a manager and then sacks them after 3 league games only shows what a fickle failure they are themselves. You were just what the fans wanted, a manager with passion. You derserve far better than this.
Thracian Posted 29 August 2007 Posted 29 August 2007 Martin Allen was a larger than life characteer who was going to be so good for our club. With any other chairman he might rightly have expected some slack but MM isn't just any chairman. He was never going to give lasting support to anyone with as big a personality as his own. Pity.

After the events of the last two days, with us being in the spotlight for two heart failures and an administrative failure, I can safely say that I hope we're never in the media eye again.
TAFKA Castroneves Posted 29 August 2007 Posted 29 August 2007 I have never been more upset as a Leicester fan. We have lost Playoff finals, we have been relegated. We have been in administration - actually that was a bit more upsetting but you get my drift. Martin I strongly feel you were going to be our best manager since O'Neill. Your confidence and style of management brought this club something it has lacked for a very long time - hope. For the past three years Leicester has literally been in the gutter just waiting for someone to pull it out, polish it off and run with it. We all thought that man was Milan Mandaric, which in part it was. But you were the man who took Mandaric's vision and took it much further than I think even he imagined. To think Saturday afternoon I was down my local pub with a few mates dismissing their theories that Watford were going to absolutly destroy us, I knew you wouldn't let us down that day and you didn't. I wore my City shirt with pride for the rest of that weekend, and that was for the first time in a while. I wish you all the best. I just wish I could stop thinking about what Martin Allen and Leicester City could have been together a bit further down that road...
