Got back from Exeter yesterday, so much poontang about it was unreal.

But today, I got a leaflet through my door this morning, I know someone or some of you on here live on or near Collingham Road, so you might of got one as well.

This leaflet was absolutely hilarious, from a woman called Zina Zelter wanting to do a swap, share and save group.

She gives examples of things people could share in the area...I have a laminator and large cooking pans which people could borrow - also some small violins(YES VIOLINS - RANDOM I KNOW)

She carries on by saying, I could teach people how to make bread and vegan cakes - YES VEGAN CAKES!!!

I sometimes have vegetable seedlings which I'd like to give away - To be honest love, I prefer buying Carrots and shit from the CO-OP.

Maybe we could get together she says - occasionally swapping things like plant seeds, seedlings(she loves the seedlings), fabrics etc...

One the other side(yes there is another side  ) she says ideas of kind things we might offer and want - In the want section, she gives an example by saying, people could want to learn how to prune fruit trees(Yet again very random).

Proper crazy, and I certainly had to laugh.

It's ****ing depressing that a bit of community building is considered crazy and laughable by a younger person.

(SEE WHAT YOU'VE DONE MAGGIE!?)

Seriously, though, these sort of things are excellent, particularly for older members of the community or newer members of the community who may not know people locally. As some silly little boy who I imagine is still at school, you're rife with peers your age to socialise with. Not everyone else is.

My mam, while she was still in Leicester, loved stuff like this for meeting people and what not. Cracking way to avoid boredom, especially at retirement age, really commendable. I hope it takes off.

Got an e-mail me informing me I've been selected to attend an interview for Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games volunteer programme :).

Hmmmm I also volunteered for this, I guess it means I didn't get the gig :( never mind ay! I might just get fast enough at marathon running and you can hang a gold medal around my neck!

Not at all mate. They're still offering interviews out - some of the guys I worked with at London 2012 applied for Glasgow 2014 same time as me and are still yet to hear back. One of them heard back early March, though.

Unfortunately I know for a fact I won't be giving out medals this time! But I do know that the role I've been selected for interview for does involve key elements of the Medal Ceremonies.

You have it so hard over there lol

I know that could sound like a humblebrag.. but seriously its not, weve just had the hottest summer on record, followed by the hottest March... and....

April (supposed to be Autumn) only one day under 30 degrees (the hottest April on record so far).

So while im no fan of freezing cold and rain and snow... the heat can just FVCK OFF!

Thank you! My current job can be a bit stale sometimes. The new job can also be quite rewarding, too!

Come and work for me!

What do you do?
