Head Honcho Posted 12 September 2007 Posted 12 September 2007 ...............but it was a great result for Scotland. You could say it was a four pointer-watch em go and lose to Ukraine next game
purpleronnie Posted 12 September 2007 Posted 12 September 2007 what the hell has happend to scotland??????? Amazing. Well done scotland. It will be great to see the invasion from the scottish fans in euro 2008. oh yeah well done england, we're doing ok in an easy group, I guess not everything changes.
MPH Posted 12 September 2007 Posted 12 September 2007 comiserations to our old winger keith gillespie..... scoring an injury time own goal to send Northern Ireland to defeat....
Tevez Posted 12 September 2007 Posted 12 September 2007 Come on the Scots. I'm loving it and i bet Bartonfox is to.
dandannieldanok Posted 12 September 2007 Posted 12 September 2007 I may be in the minority here but I sincerely hope Scotland fall flat on their faces
Durnerz Posted 12 September 2007 Posted 12 September 2007 Fair play to the Scots, not many go to Paris and do that! More chuffed with England stuffing the Ruski's though
Milky Posted 12 September 2007 Posted 12 September 2007 Does the fact that every Scottish person hates the English not put you off them? The scots have a strange obsession with us really.
purpleronnie Posted 12 September 2007 Posted 12 September 2007 Does the fact that every Scottish person hates the English not put you off them? The scots have a strange obsession with us really. Dosen't put me off I love seeing their fans and the passion the players have, we could do with some of that, as the england team proved tonight its not about picking the best 11 individual players its about picking the best team (if you know what I mean) Can't see scotland not qualifying now.
Head Honcho Posted 12 September 2007 Author Posted 12 September 2007 Does the fact that every Scottish person hates the English not put you off them? The scots have a strange obsession with us really. Well I'm Scottish and I don't hate the English! ..............well not them all anyway
Geo V Posted 12 September 2007 Posted 12 September 2007 I must admit I had turned it over to the Scotland game for the last 10 mins in the hope that they would hold on and they did. I didnt predict the result and even put money on France in a bet with other sides but Scotland were awesome and there fans (apparently over 15,000) were awesome as well. I was singing Flower of Scotland at one stage by the way so now I can add Scotland to the other Nations I follow in England, Cyprus and Greece Well Done Wales as I feared the worst when Slovakia went 1-0 and unlucky to the Irish for fooking up, but what do you expect with Stan Staunton and Nigel Wortho in charge of your respective nations! BTW, I put my well dones to england on the other thread.
Tommeh Posted 12 September 2007 Posted 12 September 2007 Great win and performance and a really good blend in the team. Few tips for Mclaren: DO NOT BRING LAMPARD OR HARGREAVES BACK IN FOR BARRY DO NOT BRING NEVILLE BACK IN FOR RICHARDS DO NOT BRING BECKHAM / LENNON BACK IN FOR SWP DO NOT EVEN BRING WONDERKID WAYNE BACK IN FOR HESKEY, THE BIGMANS IMMENSE AND HAS MADE A HUGE DIFFERENCE THESE LAST 2 GAMES BUT DO BRING WAYNE BRIDGE IN FOR COLE, THAT GUYS GONNA COST US ONE DAY

The last two results show how much stronger England can be, without so many celebrities and egos to deal with.

Mclaren must learn from this.... the players he has brought in work for the badge.... not like so called super frank who thinks he should be selected for his name..... Well done to Bruno aswell, he has been great in these last two games.... Good Lad!!
Dames Posted 13 September 2007 Posted 13 September 2007 Don't kid yourselfs. Wonder Wayne and Super Frank will be back soon and we'll be as imbalenced as ever soon enough
Kent Fox Posted 13 September 2007 Posted 13 September 2007 Don't kid yourselfs.Wonder Wayne and Super Frank will be back soon and we'll be as imbalenced as ever soon enough I think that SM would be committing football suicide to change this team after the last two games. The Heskey / Owen partnership proved itself again, Owen now bagging 14 in 14 with Bruno as his partner. Crouch looked pathetic in comparison. Although Maclaren may have been forced into picking that particular team due to injuries etc, many will look at it as a stroke of genius. Personally, I don't care which view is taken. We played with a passion for the shirt that I have not seen for a while. Qualification is in our hands now and SM would be a stupid to change anything in that team. He had the balls to stick with it last night. I hope he has learned something..
Dr The Singh Posted 13 September 2007 Posted 13 September 2007 It's amazing how a few injuries and suspension has changed McClarens fortunes, otherwise I imagine it would be the same old 'drab' England!!!
Manwell Pablo Posted 13 September 2007 Posted 13 September 2007 The funniest thing about all of this is McLaren has stumbled upon this team thanks to injuries and Micheal Owen telling him how to do his job. Most amusing.

Which means he will slip straight back into old bad habits. Im refusing to get carried away or give him any credit untill the next set of qualifiers and he sticks with the same team. But i know he won't.

Top post Tommeh! Lose the big-time Charlies who just haven't performed for England. Time to show your bottle SM.

Absolutely, stick with a group of players who seem they actually want to win, I wouldn't rule out lampard or rooney they will be fine on the bench but not in the starting 11. We'll see how much guts SM has when everyone is fit.
