Time to get rid of Levi Porter

He's grossly over-rated from what I've seen. And while it is only speculation that he put in for a transfer, if he had done and I'd been in MM's shoes, he'd have gone with my best wishes.

Representing your country is a massive achievement. Australia are a strong Nation as well, look at their recent World Cup campaign. We also lost to them 3-1 in recent years.

Kisnorbo was getting plenty of plaudits from his Australian performances up until this summer, where he had a dreadful tournament, as did a lot of the Aussie players.

He's not over-rated either, if anything he's under-rated by most. He also scores goals, something very few defenders do.

More of a goal threat than Levi Porter.

Kisnorbo has been inconsistent so far for us this term. This means we are still vulnerable at setpieces, as QPR nearly proved on Saturday.

Porter was not outstanding on Saturday but we don't exactly have a horde of left-footed players to replace him.

If I remember the plaudits weren't for full international appearances. He did have a dreadful Asian Cup - I wasn't going to be that harsh - but Australia don't convince me as a football team.

Kisnorbo's goals have been a valuable bonus - I have referred to them on many occasions - as is much of his last ditch defending. But so much of his good work is spoiled by his laboriously slow and inconsistent distribution.

Thats your opinion and thats fair enough but now we at least have a league and are trying to build a footballing nation and the national team isn't as easy to get in to as it once was and the world cup showed that we are a nation on the rise.

Now as far as porter goes i want to see him dominate games and be a consistentally good player but it's not happing he is average at best and there has to come a time were you need to stop playing plays and judging them on potential and how good a play he will be one day.

At the moment Porter isn't cutting it he either needs to lift his game or we need to get rid of players like him in order to make a push for promotion.

They've got a crap manager that's why, they have bags of potential as Hiddink showed.

There is not one single reason this squad of ours should not have been sitting in a potential promotion spot right now apart from the most inexplicable managerial decisions.

Like starting at half cock against Blackpool, sitting back and trying to hold out for the closing minutes against Palace, and tactically conceding the inititative for no good reason against QPR.

We have donated at least four points voluntarily and in no way because the team wasn't capable of getting the result. If we'd not been in a position to win two out of four matches we've failed to win I might have sympathy for what you say but we were and we beat the current League leades 4-1.

Winning with our current squad is about management more than anything.

Porter, really THAT shit? I remember when he was getting into first-team-football, you thought that Porter was nothing short of magical.

Only a few idiots thought that. I'm sure the majority formed the more realistic opinion that he is a bag of bollocks.

When I saw the team sheet today I just knew we would struggle.

Levi is f cking garbage

I'd have to agree he's not 1st team quality by far to small not physical enough , Levi out get ferreira in ;)

He was more of a goal threat than everyone except Hume last season. Porter scored as many goals as your much favoured Fryatt - playing on the wing.

Manager Graham Arnold was only a caretaker was in charge against the Argentins last week....Thank god :)

speaking of fryatt i think he looked really lively tonight when he came on, certainly looked better then DJ did

I entirely agree and was really pleased he got his recall. He's shown decent form in the reserves of late, including his team play. DJ was disappointing and not for the first time.

I know I am digressing from the original topic but you may think that Kisnorbo is over-rated but when Steve Walsh comes out and raves about Kisnorbo`s positioning and challenges like he did on the radio tonight, you`ll have to say maybe he deserves the plaudits? No offense to you and your distinguished career but i`ll rather listen to the opening of someone like Steve Walsh who was a bit of a better defender than you.

As for Levi, I cant bury the lad like some have done and would like to see how he gets on during the season. It sounds like Sheehan is ahead of him already and Ferreira is waiting in the wings so I cant see Levi playing that often but lets hope that he does well when he gets in as he has shown glimpses of ability on the odd occasion I have seen him. Lets hope for the clubs sake that he does improve enough to save us a few quid in the transfer market but he needs to improve significantly.

as i said to anyone that would listen on the coach, if DJ isn't scoring he does fook all else, Fryatt has a point to prove, thats the best motivation going IMHO

Sheehan looks far better on the left than Porter does.

I think he should be transformed into a left winger because his defending sometimes lets him down.

There is no doubt that he has real quality in that left foot so I hope he too can "kick on" and really continue to improve. Its good we have competition for places and in time, I hope that Megson can find the perfect balance.
