We've got to get rid of the Premier League - what do they contribute to this cup? About 8 clubs show respect to their lower league opponents, which is why i'm glad Man Utd got hammered by Coventry.

I'd quite like to see the Non-League sides to join, but I think it'd be better to keep to Football League only.

Premier League teams have the opportunity to play in the Champions League/UEFA Cup, FA/League Cup, (4)

Championship teams have the opportunity to play in the FA/League Cup, (2)

League 1/2 teams have the opportunity to play in the DIY Trophy, FA/League Cup, (3)

Conference and lower have the opportunity to play in the FA Cup and FA Trophy (2)

Premiership managers moan enough about the number of games in a season, so they should be on my side. Instead of playing the reserves, why don't they play them in the reserves league. They're there for a reason.

It's still one of English football's biggest trophies at the end of the day, and it would be stupid to completely ignore Premiership teams from it. If managers don't want to put out their strongest team it's their right to do so. You could say Arsenal put out a "reserve side", but it's not as if their reserve side is bad at all.

This competiton is very important to some of the more mediocre Premiership teams, remember there's a European place up for grabs.

So yeah, basically it should be open to the whole of the Football League.

I think it should be left how it is. If teams want to put out weakened sides then thats up to them - i would still pay good money to watch the Arsenal reserve team in action and I bet all the Coventry fans who went up to Manchester aren't complaining about the team United put out!

the league cup is a great way to blood some youngsters but it is a problem that some teams dont take it seriously enough... i think some teams should show a bit more respect to the fans that pay to get in

Leave it how it is, who cares if they field a weaker team, more chance of us going through :P

we still wouldnt stand a chance against most peoples reserves

Prem teams often moan about too many matches in the season. OK, a few matches wont make a big difference but if you're in the Prem, take your money and let the football league clubs battle it out for a bit of glory.

I think Carling Cup should be kept exactly as it is now, except all the premiership teams enter at round one. And if they want to use their reserve teams they can do, that's just their decision.

I think leave it as it is, if teams like Man Utd want to put out a second string that is up to them, if they then get knocked out so what - in a few years time Cov will still say they won 2-0 at old trafford no one will remember what team played.

The draw in full;

Luton v Everton

Portsmouth v Blackburn

Chelsea v Leicester

Sheffield United v Arsenal

Tottenham v Blackpool

Bolton v Man City

Coventry v West Ham

Liverpool v Cardiff

Looking at that draw, I think that Sheff utd -Arsenal and Liverpool- Cardiff will be televised.

Every time so far when the draw has been made, I've got excited when Chelsea, Forest and Villa came out. Every time we got who I wanted!

Only change I'd make is renaming it to the Leicester cup.

3 great nights in this competition so far at Accrington, Forest and villa and Chelsea will be good too, I love competitions like this. Gives us as fans a great opportunity to relieve ourselves from our dismal league form.

Leave it as it is. The Premier League want to it play there reserves and the lower league sides can do with the extra revenue so it doesnt bother me if some of teh big sides want to play their reserves in the earlier rounds as all it does is lessen their chances of winning, as Man U found out last week.

Exactly. :)

In any case, many lower league teams rest players as well. When Notts County beat Middlebrough last year, they rested 5 first teamers!!!

As long as it has a trip to Wembley and a European place at the end of it, it's fine.
