Lord Nibblington Posted 6 October 2007 Posted 6 October 2007 hopefully, clem and weso, easily our best 2 outfield players returning will steady the ship further, add into that Andy King, chambers can drop back to right back... christ: king clem weso sheehan - not bad for a 442 even! Can't see us going back to a 442 anytime in the near future.
Simon Posted 6 October 2007 Posted 6 October 2007 Great result for the lads. Looks like being hard to beat is finally starting to pay off. Once Clem and Weso are back looks like we may have the makings of a decent team. Happy days!
BigGibbo Posted 6 October 2007 Posted 6 October 2007 Under these circumstances, I'm the same as this! I didn't feel alot when we beat the Villa, or lost to Charlton, and it's the same today and being honest I absolutely hate it cause I love LCFC.I'm just a fan of football JTB, and through my entire life I have a huge hatred for those people in football that spoil it for the neutral. Megson is one of those and I hate him as our manager. But, I hope it'll pass and things get better. Shame Fulop's price tag is increasing by the week. I went through this phase when he was appointed, Chillax it passes
Simi Posted 6 October 2007 Posted 6 October 2007 A great day out, marred by arsewank stewards again, although the abuse they received was funny. Fulop was a God, once again, two tremendous saves at key points in the game. Good to see us actually using the wing backs first half, Stearman had a decent game, as did King, although its clear we missed Clemence. Cort was lazy again, DJ seemed to lack confidence.
Wooly Posted 6 October 2007 Posted 6 October 2007 I'm interested to see who he's going to be playing when everybody is fit again. Fulop Chambers, N'Gotty, McAuley, Kisnorbo, Mattock Weslowski, Clemence, King Hume, Fryatt That seems a fairly decent side given the personnel. I'd just really like to see Chambers getting a run on the right to be honest because I think he's such a good player, and I'd like to see if Megson is going to continue playing him out of position even when there are other options there
Ozwin Posted 6 October 2007 Posted 6 October 2007 DJ will come through, he'll be fine. Can't be much worse than Akinbyi (Sp?) so we can't really complain, he's doing alright and I reckon once we get some creativity coming through from midfield we'll be fine. This 2 weeks will be spent on that I think, defence is looking alright so midfield/strikers will be priority I reckon.

Maybe Kaebi at RWB depending on how good he is.
Thracian Posted 6 October 2007 Posted 6 October 2007 Game in hand too, so it's looking good. But we all know Leicester and I don't want to burst the bubble but we know it's not going to be an easy ride, it never bloody well is. I like how we have this King fella in now, he sounds good so Clemence has a similar partner in midfield for a while (Assuming he's better than Kishishev) so hopefully this can be the start of a great season. We just need to practice in midfield, because we're not creating enough. I reckon if we start creating a few more chances and feeding the strikers what they need, confidence will rise and we'll be set for a nice little run. We're far too defensive and nobody wants to see too much of that in a team. 2 week break to start something at a great time. If anything I think the break will be a good thing for us. We've had a lot of tough football anyway what with the cup matches but, on top of that, Megson will have chance to really get to know people, to get across what he believes in and to try out some options for increasing our goals return on the training ground. Today's win and the game in hand should ensure a chirpy admosphere in the camp and players like Weso, Clemence and Porter should hopefully be fit or near to it when we return. Megson will have opportunity to work on improvements to individuals' performances - Sheehan, for instance, would seem to have returned to the side today in a much more focused and effective frame of mind than at Charlton and more such influence from the boss can only be of further benefit. And the same with others. Finally if Megson considers he really must get a player or two in then he will have the chance to sort that out. And, while I may have my reservations about Megson tactically I do believe he has enough knowledge and experience to have a realistic chance of improving our side with signings rather than just bringing in some ineffective journeymen. So yes, to me, we should benefit from the break.
Cobbo Posted 6 October 2007 Posted 6 October 2007 I think we've all got to look at this as a good result. We're missing our best player yet still won 2-0 and by the sounds of it were comfortable for the most part (apart from Fulop's two saves). Clemence is majorly important to how we play as a team but we've played a midfield today containing a full back, winger and a kid and we've won 2-0. That'll do.
Floating Fox Posted 6 October 2007 Posted 6 October 2007 Just got back, Good day. Stewards we're way over the top made a lil' kid cry (Not me ) Got plenty of abuse back which livened up the day! We didn't play well at all really. Wednesday we're god awfull, sack-able performance for sure from them. Nice to see Megson & Milan getting back by the fans and GM hearing it as well. Fulop was brilliant.
MPH Posted 6 October 2007 Posted 6 October 2007 With any other goalkeper 5-2 might have been realistic - but, whatever, it was reason for celebratiion and optimism. Not just a two goal win away from home but another defensive clean sheet. So well done the back five, cos you wouldn't want to forget Fulop. i dont think he had 5 shots to save. more like only 1..
Leicester Lass Posted 6 October 2007 Posted 6 October 2007 Not a classic performance by any means but we won and kept a clean sheet. Happy days!
ForestFilbert Posted 6 October 2007 Posted 6 October 2007 Hi everyone, newbie here to the forum!! Been a fan of the mighty foxes since I was 6....yes work out my age! Fulop was so good that I am seriously thinking of changing my name to Marton Fulop & having plastic surgery to look like Marton Fulop Possibly even going to Hungary to get a Hungarian accent He was that good! :worship: Marton Fulop is welcome around chez Kilworth to come round and bone my mum or sister anytime he likes he is so good! BTW Sign the fecker now Stewards were w*nkers and I'm going to write to Peter Jones about the unacceptable way they decided to chuck out fans randomly.

ForestFilbert Posted 6 October 2007 Posted 6 October 2007 Thanks for the welcome guys! Well I agree my name is not the most imaginative but my reasoning is that I live in The Forest Of Dean, so my creative juices put Forest and Filbert together!! I link to think my avatar kind of makes up for it slightly!

The Reverend Posted 6 October 2007 Posted 6 October 2007 Sounded (on the wireless) exactly the same as the Wolves game, except we scored 2 goals in quick succession which virtually killed the game off. I dont like the way Megson gets the team playing, but if it gets us into the play off area then im not bothered. Sounded like a grind, and like Fulop played well (again). I love that guy. Sign him up Milan. Feck off Henderson. Megson seems to be pretty tactically astute, he knows how to set the stall out, something we havent been able ti do for a number of years, and knows how to pick up points, whether that be 3 or 1. I am warming to his ideas. Cant wait til Clem gets back.

Nice Oh blimey, can see the cause for the initial query now!! Definately, definately no F*rest mole here. I hear that our fans were chanting 'Ginger Mourinho' today, is this true? Brought a smile to my face!!

l444ry Posted 6 October 2007 Posted 6 October 2007 It's about time Megson started getting the credit he deserves, I supported Martin Allen's time at the club but it's plainly obvious that Megson is a far better manager. His organisational skills have had an instant impact on the team. Some people on here should look through their pre-conceived prejudice and give the bloke a chance.

shrood Posted 6 October 2007 Posted 6 October 2007 Glad I went in the end. Pretty pleased with the performance, we deserved to win despite being an impotent up front. Solid display by the defence and we NEED to get fullop's signature on paper asap. Not necessarily convinced by ginger bollocks yet, but seems to be getting his tactics right.
