The People's Hero Posted 4 December 2007 Posted 4 December 2007 Just a thought that occurred to me this morning. This game will be taking place a year and a day after Neil/Janx's death. What would people think of asking for donations from those playing and anyone else who wishes to contribute, to be given to the charity of Sarah's choice perhaps? It doesn't have to revolve around money I suppose if anyone has any other ideas. The game last year was played in such great spirit that Janx would have been proud of us all getting along and having a laugh, and the drunkenness that ensued afterwards. Agree 100%.
Foxhateram Posted 4 December 2007 Posted 4 December 2007 Agree 100%. I emailed the club about sponsering a match liek this at some point and peter jones repleid with "supply me more information and we will publicise the match" maybe we can push to get them to sponser us, or maybe even get it as a memorial match or sommit?

Are you even playing mate? I don't see your name down on the U21 list. Aren't you a ref? We can use one of those.
Finnegan Posted 4 December 2007 Posted 4 December 2007 Are you even playing mate? I don't see your name down on the U21 list.Aren't you a ref? We can use one of those. I'm more interested in a decent fooking linesman so Thracian can't make stupid calls from fifty yards away at the wrong end of the pitch. But then, my old man'll probably come and watch (he wanted to coach the O21s, haha - live in fear, U21s, that's a licensed pro!) so I'll make him run a line.

Better than the other one. Who was that?
Finnegan Posted 4 December 2007 Posted 4 December 2007 Thracian was alright I thought.Better than the other one. Who was that? I'm obviously bias, but I think Tom will agree that he was very eager in the first half, and sort of 'switched off' in the second. There wasn't really a second linesman, just some kid stood there that wasn't doing anything and was far too timid to speak up.

Except when he was wrong.
Finnegan Posted 4 December 2007 Posted 4 December 2007 Except when he was wrong. The one big call we're all still moaning about wasn't really made by him though. He said "he wasn't offside" when we protested and "he was offside" when they protested. And Tevez just punted it up for a goal kick and nobody could be arsed to argue.
Bert Posted 4 December 2007 Posted 4 December 2007 Great idea for the donations Fez. I think it was Mikey who was running the line on that side.
Manwell Pablo Posted 4 December 2007 Author Posted 4 December 2007 I'd laugh if one of our FL fixtures got re arranged for this date after we went out
Finnegan Posted 4 December 2007 Posted 4 December 2007 I'd laugh if one of our FL fixtures got re arranged for this date after we went out I'll laugh if we go through.
Manwell Pablo Posted 4 December 2007 Author Posted 4 December 2007 I'll laugh if we go through. Southampton, away, don't see it happening. Although with all this planning etc it probabley will. Which is exactly why I wont be booking the pitch till the full time whistle blows at St Marys in January.
Finnegan Posted 4 December 2007 Posted 4 December 2007 How do you actually MANAGE to keep double posting?
Manwell Pablo Posted 4 December 2007 Author Posted 4 December 2007 How do you actually MANAGE to keep double posting? Didn't even know I was doing it.
Finnegan Posted 4 December 2007 Posted 4 December 2007 I'm just THAT ninja at clearing them up, that's why.
Foxhateram Posted 4 December 2007 Posted 4 December 2007 Are you even playing mate? I don't see your name down on the U21 list.Aren't you a ref? We can use one of those. I am not playing no, but i am still offering my servises as a negotiator. Would be great if we could get the club involved. no?
Floating Fox Posted 4 December 2007 Posted 4 December 2007 Great idea for the donations Fez. I think it was Mikey who was running the line on that side. It was Mikey's & his mate that got pissed on a bottle of shitewieser I think I might be intrested in reffing this, got to be a bit better than sitting on the sideline being the 'manager' anyway... I should let you know, I am the hitler of all ref's.
General Smuts Posted 4 December 2007 Posted 4 December 2007 David O'Leary is a referee and he has offered to ref. Manwell and Finnegan should find pm's in thier inbox from him.

I should let you know, I am the hitler of all ref's. As long as you don't penalise goalkeepers for perfectly fair challenges then we're ok.
Lord Nibblington Posted 5 December 2007 Posted 5 December 2007 Uhh. We might actually have some proper reffing? Hrm. I might have to rethink my strategy for the game.
filbertway Posted 5 December 2007 Posted 5 December 2007 I think having a ref is a bad idea personally. Me to, especially if it's SUAS
Alexikokopops Posted 5 December 2007 Posted 5 December 2007 I think having a ref is a bad idea personally. It worries me because it implies that it's going to be a bit more serious. I'm not good enough for serious football!
Simi Posted 5 December 2007 Posted 5 December 2007 It worries me because it implies that it's going to be a bit more serious.I'm not good enough for serious football! Exactly. It was all in aid of a laugh. There is no need for a ref.
