Kilworthfox Posted 8 October 2007 Posted 8 October 2007 Plenty of failures to choose from! Bryan Robson Peter Reid Peter Taylor Alan Ball David Pleat Mark McGhee Steve Bruce Mick McCarthy What amazes me is that people still continue to give them jobs!
Brainy Posted 8 October 2007 Posted 8 October 2007 McCarthy can get a team up (or close to), shame he can't keep them in the Premiership though. I wouldn't say he's a bad manager.
Jack Posted 8 October 2007 Posted 8 October 2007 McCarthy can get a team up (or close to), shame he can't keep them in the Premiership though.I wouldn't say he's a bad manager. Same about Bruce. Although he did keep Brum up for a few years. Far from a bad manager IMO.
Lillehamring Posted 8 October 2007 Posted 8 October 2007 when i worked for a bank, i had a manager who confisctaed a pen i had, it was one of those with a little window with some advertising in it, and when you click it the message rotates, i replaced it with 'humourous' comments, she said, 'ooh, can i see', and then she said 'i think i'll keep this' - she then actually decomissioned it by taking it apart - she also told me off for shaking the vending machine when my crisps got caught against the glass, she told me that i should call the vending machine company - i laughed at that, so she told me to get on with my work. ..i know that's not what you meant, but i wanted to share a funny tale...

NFFC Chris Posted 8 October 2007 Posted 8 October 2007 Alan Ball You should go to hell for speaking ill of the dead
Mickey O'Neil Posted 8 October 2007 Posted 8 October 2007 You can stick Glenn Hoddle on that list <_<
NFFC Chris Posted 8 October 2007 Posted 8 October 2007 You can stick Glenn Hoddle on that list <_< Yes he will sure be a prime candidate for the now vacant jobs at Millwall and Palace and I would'nt be suprised if the lucky bugger landed himself another job despite being gash!
Tommeh Posted 8 October 2007 Posted 8 October 2007 Benitez on current showing...his rotation is fcking the pool over big time in my opinion. Also Glenn Hoddle, Souness, Graham Taylor,
Joe. Posted 8 October 2007 Posted 8 October 2007 Sorry but you can hardly class Graham Taylor as the worst manager ever. At least know what he's achieved before everybody jumps on a bandwagon.... Lincoln- Became youngest manager in the league at 28, and helped set the league records for most wins (32), least defeats (4), and most points (74) (when 2 points were awarded for a win). Watford- From fourth Division to First Division in five years- says it all really. And got them to the UEFA cup in first season in division one. Aston Villa- Got them straight back up at his first attempt, then finished second in his third season in charge. England- Well we won't go too much into that Still think he' the worst manager ever?
Thracian Posted 9 October 2007 Posted 9 October 2007 For us Peter Taylor. He should never be let loose with someone else's money.
SOCCERROO FOX Posted 9 October 2007 Posted 9 October 2007 Peter Taylor, current wigan manager (name eludes me for some reason and can't be arsed googling) and Martin Allan (the guy couldn't last more than a few months)
Durnerz Posted 9 October 2007 Posted 9 October 2007 Peter Taylor, current wigan manager (name eludes me for some reason and can't be arsed googling) and Martin Allan (the guy couldn't last more than a few months) Chris Hutchings? Aka: Stan from 'on the buses'
Manwell Pablo Posted 9 October 2007 Posted 9 October 2007 Plenty of failures to choose from!Bryan Robson Peter Reid Peter Taylor Alan Ball David Pleat Mark McGhee Steve Bruce Mick McCarthy What amazes me is that people still continue to give them jobs! what a rubbish short list. Bar Alan Ball. Carlton Palmer, David Plat, Paul Merson, Steve Claridge, John Barnes, Tony Adams, some proper failures there! The kind of manager thats so bad people no longer continue to give them jobs! EDIT: and whoever said Taylor, behave yourself!
davieG Posted 9 October 2007 Posted 9 October 2007 Can't find 10 worst managers but it seems to have the top 10 of everything else. http://www.midfielddynamo.com/players/players_bestnames.htm
Wycombe Fox Posted 9 October 2007 Posted 9 October 2007 For us I'd say Frank McLintock was pretty bad. I think he was in charge for 40 games with a record of won 5, drew 12, lost 23, scored 20, conceded 60! They were dark times for City. Thank God for Jock Wallace after Dr. Doolittle!

He was - worse than bad - but not on the same financial scale as Taylor.
lookwhaticando Posted 9 October 2007 Posted 9 October 2007 Steve Bruce It's not like he's a bad manager and he keeps getting jobs... he's been in the same job for nearly six years now, hasn't he? He must be doing something right to hold down the job for six years in today's game. Besides, with two promotions and an extended stay in the top flight, it's absurd to call him one of the worst managers. Just because you don't think he's got good looks, unlike a certain M. Fulop. The real bad managers are those that get a job, do spectacularly badly, and then get hired again. Peter Taylor's career should have been finished when we sacked him... but somehow he bounced back. He'll do it again, no doubt. Peter Taylor, current wigan manager (name eludes me for some reason and can't be arsed googling) and Martin Allan (the guy couldn't last more than a few months) Chris Hutchings. I wouldn't put him on the list either. Yet. See... he only had a 21 game stretch. Granted it was a bad stretch, but it was his first gig. Besides, he hasn't got off to too bad a start at Wigan. If he relegates another team, then perhaps we could add him. But for now, there's much worse out there.
