Geo V Posted 17 October 2007 Posted 17 October 2007 Evil, evil Milan getting his money out again?? Leicester City's recent burst of encouragement will not slow down the search for new faces - and potentially expensive ones at that. The victory at Sheffield Wednesday last time out was a boost, but City boss Gary Megson is committed to improving his squad. The corner cannot be said to have been turned quite yet, and Megson denied the three points at Hillsborough has caused him to ease off the search. He said: “I am still keeping an eye on the loan market and transfer market. “It is an on-going process. We are looking at very good players, very expensive players, but that is what you have to do to move the club forward.†Megson has been working relentlessly during the two-week international break to improve the fitness of the squad, as well as trying to keep alive the memory of the Hillsborough win ahead of Saturday's trip to S****horpe. But it has not been easy, and Megson admitted: “You can't keep the momentum. You have to let it drop a little bit in terms of the intensity, and the work we have been doing is more for the long term, such as running and weights. “What we have to do is build up to the game on Saturday.†Megson has a few players away on international duty, Marton Fulop with Hungary, Gareth McAuley with Northern Ireland, Radostin Kishishev with Bulgaria, and Joe Mattock and Andy King on youth team duty with England and Wales respectively. Megson said: “It is difficult getting the information you would like from international camps but, like everyone else, we are sat here with fingers crossed that they come back fit. “Their late return makes it difficult as we will not know if they will be fit or not. That is not peculiar to us, but to all teams.†nCity are reported to be chasing Chelsea's young left-back Ryan Bertrand, who is currently starring for Oldham on loan.
Joe. Posted 17 October 2007 Posted 17 October 2007 Well sounds good to me. Generally to get class you need to splash the cash. Hopefully this is th case and we can get players in who can make the difference between success and mediocrity.
STUHILL Posted 17 October 2007 Posted 17 October 2007 Love the bit about good and expensive players!!!! Long gone are the words of 'wheel and deal', thankgod!
Ric Flair Posted 17 October 2007 Posted 17 October 2007 Megson will splash out £7 million on Scott Dobie and Sean Gregan.
FrankieWorthoYaggedMyWife Posted 17 October 2007 Posted 17 October 2007 Megson will splash out £7 million on Scott Dobie and Sean Gregan. I am more hopeful of a big money swwop for Paul Furlong or the equally dynamic Wayne "Chief" Allison! Come on Megson you ginger twat, get that average age well above 35!
Thracian Posted 17 October 2007 Posted 17 October 2007 Love the bit about good and expensive players!!!! Long gone are the words of 'wheel and deal', thankgod! Depends who you pay out for. Akinbiyi was expensive.

Thracian Posted 17 October 2007 Posted 17 October 2007 You are such a miserable sod Money in the wrong hands frightens me more than not having any at all. Fortunately I don't think Megson is the "wrong hands". Quite the contrary. I might be concerned about the cautious style of play Megson is noted for but I do think he knows what makes a footballer and is as likely as any to spend MM's money wisely. All managers make mistakes in who they sign but Megson will probably make fewer than most.

teblin Posted 17 October 2007 Posted 17 October 2007 His record at West Brom in the Transfer Market was very impressive. wasn't that bad at forest either really.
STUHILL Posted 17 October 2007 Posted 17 October 2007 One of Martin Allens major downfalls. 16 players in and apart from a few, Fullop and Clemence stand out, none have been very impressive so far. Megson will have to shift a few but then we've been saying that all summer. Can't get rid of some of the buggers. One thing is obvious though, this squad will not get us promoted! We need more quality, not just numbers!
OriginalRobboFOX Posted 17 October 2007 Posted 17 October 2007 Evil, evil Milan getting his money out again?? Kaka and Ronaldinho then.....
Master Fox Posted 17 October 2007 Posted 17 October 2007 Love the bit about good and expensive players!!!! Long gone are the words of 'wheel and deal', thankgod! We'll sign nobody. We've seen this all before.
Dames Posted 17 October 2007 Posted 17 October 2007 We'll sign nobody. We've seen this all before. True. He's been here over a month now and no loan signings.

Simi Posted 17 October 2007 Posted 17 October 2007 We'll sign nobody. We've seen this all before. I'm not sure that will be the case. But you're right, we have definitely heard similar to this before and nothing has come of it.
