Raj Posted 26 October 2007 Posted 26 October 2007 it dont matter who we get in as the new boss, as long as mm is pokin his nose in team stuff (buying players he wants!) we aint goin nowhere! Which players has he bought which you disapprove of?
Suffolk_fox Posted 26 October 2007 Posted 26 October 2007 Walshie - God love 'im! I heard him on the RL commentary against Sheff Utd and agreed with everything he said. BUT! Letting him be manager? Remember how Spurs Legend Glenn Hoddle left White Hart Lane....
WetFlannel Posted 26 October 2007 Posted 26 October 2007 We've been in the shit for 5 od years. Now is not the time to let a legend have a go just cos he aint got anything else better to do. Walshie IS and ALWAYS will be a Leicester Legend. BUT he is NOT a football Manager. Yes he HAs Passion. Yes he cares for this Club. But we cant keep making the wrong appointmenst as managers. Ive said it after the Allen departure that MM must pick the right man. He Picked Megson, who might have been if he didnt fcuk off to Bolton. WE have to get THE right man THIS time. Steve Walsh IS NOT the man. Roy Keane
Raj Posted 26 October 2007 Posted 26 October 2007 Roy Keane If you are giving Roy Keane as an example of an explayer managing- Wasn't a Legend at Sunderland was he? And after playing under someone like Sir Alex for so long, he has abit of advantage doesn't he!!!! If you are saying Keano as OUR manager- Yes sure he would leave a Premier league Club for us!
WetFlannel Posted 26 October 2007 Posted 26 October 2007 Wasn't a Legend at Sunderland was he?And after playing under someone like Sir Alex for so long, he has abit of advantage doesn't he!!!! ok then, souness has played under a great manager, hes still useless though... plus it was an example
Raj Posted 26 October 2007 Posted 26 October 2007 ok then, souness has played under a great manager, hes still useless though...plus it was an example Give you that one !
Sods Posted 26 October 2007 Posted 26 October 2007 What are the chances of steve walsh's name being chanted tomorro. Quite high, is he going to be on radio leicester. That would be quite interesting.
tommypello Posted 26 October 2007 Posted 26 October 2007 taggart with larry and walshy in a coaching role if dowie rejects mm offer!!!!!!!
Sods Posted 26 October 2007 Posted 26 October 2007 taggart with larry and walshy in a coaching role if dowie rejects mm offer!!!!!!! With David Pleat as director of football.
gasman68 Posted 27 October 2007 Posted 27 October 2007 After some of the Managers we've had over the years,i would give Walshy a stab at it. Peter taylor,Micky Addams, martin Allen where all up and coming managers and have gone on to do nothing?Don't know why the hell Craig levein was picked, others,Like Judas will use us as a stepping stone. Everyone on the list is a better Manager choice, but out of them,Reid,Dowie,Jewell, etc, they would all leave for a better offer,at least Walshy would stay till given the door.
Ajax Treesdown Posted 27 October 2007 Posted 27 October 2007 Walsh as a coach........maybe.............Walsh as the manager..........F**K OFF!!!!
Zingari Posted 27 October 2007 Posted 27 October 2007 Walsh as a coach........maybe.............Walsh as the manager..........F**K OFF!!!! i think anyone appointed under MM will have to realise that they are not going to be "100% manager" and that mr big will be pulling a lot of strings, so i cannot see why walshy couldn't do the job as a sort of glorified coach cum "manager in name" he would probably accept the situation better than more established names, but its probably hypothetical anyway
Guest Mickyblueeyes Posted 27 October 2007 Posted 27 October 2007 For me Walsh should be given a chance quite simply anyone we hire now would be a risk so why not walshy. He makes alot of sense on radio Leicester when commentating on our games.Having someone experienced above him who can advise him AND if it wasnt going well come in and sort it out would be a better idea that way we have a sort of back up plan in place. On experience well Keane had none but he's learning on the job, Magiltons doing ok at ipswich, Ince had none when he started at maccs (in what could be described as a harder job) every manager has to start somewhere. For the sporting directors role we should get someone who has been in the game a while, however, has a reputation of being a bit of a impact manager, for the unthinkable. He is risking his entire rep with us by putting himself forward lets give him the chance.
James. Posted 27 October 2007 Posted 27 October 2007 For me Walsh should be given a chance quite simply anyone we hire now would be a risk so why not walshy. But there are DEGREES of risk. Walsh is without doubt a greater risk than other candidates such as Dowie, Souness, etc. He makes alot of sense on radio Leicester when commentating on our games. I don't want to employ someone on the basis of debatable "sense" on a radio station. On experience well Keane had none but he's learning on the job, Magiltons doing ok at ipswich, Ince had none when he started at maccs (in what could be described as a harder job) every manager has to start somewhere. Keane was a world class player working under a world class manager. Incomparable. He is risking his entire rep with us by putting himself forward lets give him the chance. No!
maddog Posted 27 October 2007 Posted 27 October 2007 Walsh asks for Mandaric meeting Leicester City legend Steve Walsh says he wants “15 minutes†of Milan Mandaric's time to put forward his case for the vacant manager's job. Walsh threw his name into the frame yesterday, and has approached Mandaric with a view to arranging a meeting. Walsh, who made more than 450 appearances for City, said: “I have left two messages with his secretary, and am waiting to see. I hope to see him as soon as possible. “I am asking for only 15 minutes. I just want him to listen to what I have got to say and hope he considers it.†In his exclusive column in today's Mercury, Walsh reveals why he feels he is the man to take the club forward. He writes: “Everyone knows how passionate I am about Leicester City, having served 14 years for the club. “However, my decision to run for this job is about much more than just that and I know I am capable. “I can see tactically and personnel wise exactly what is wrong - and, more importantly, I know how to fix it. “I will also bring with me a plan to put my own stamp on this, and I firmly believe I can deliver the results to see us return to our rightful position in the Premier League.†Walsh's entry into the race has prompted another flurry of emails from City fans. Some think Walsh is the right man while others believe he lacks the experience. He's made some bold statements in there but seems a bit desperate. Maybe he will be pleading with Leicester fans on the radio today to get behind him as he trys to get the job. If we don't get Jewell get Walsh
Zingari Posted 27 October 2007 Posted 27 October 2007 i think MM should be prepared to listen to him for 15 minutes ; he's got nothing to lose and even if he doesn't get the top, job MM may consider him in some capacity i'd love to see walshy along the sidelines
WetFlannel Posted 27 October 2007 Posted 27 October 2007 I think Walsh should be given the job as i think hes really up for this... Plus he would get fans behind him unlike Megson, which should spur on the team
ithuriel Posted 27 October 2007 Posted 27 October 2007 i thought he was a good player for us but i really would not like to see him become our manager. he has no credentials in that department at all apart from being in temporary charge after i think it was mcghee left and we lost. what we need is a good experienced manager who can dabble in the transfer market without getting his fingers incinerated and who can handle life at a club this size. if we appoint the wrong man now we could be really in the mire again
Boycie Posted 27 October 2007 Posted 27 October 2007 and who can handle life at a club this size. And Walshy couldnt do this because?
ithuriel Posted 27 October 2007 Posted 27 October 2007 why dont you tell me why he can handle it any better than richard smith , emile heskey etc., or even the most ardent fan.
WetFlannel Posted 27 October 2007 Posted 27 October 2007 why dont you tell me why he can handle it any better than richard smith , emile heskey etc., or even the most ardent fan. you could of said the same thing about roy keane...
ithuriel Posted 27 October 2007 Posted 27 October 2007 least roy keane stayed in football and learnt from a top manager. it takes more than passion to succeed. you have to know tactics , be a good man manager , have an eye for the right kind of player for your team and be lucky too. oh , and be able to handle the pressure when things go against you.
ithuriel Posted 27 October 2007 Posted 27 October 2007 maybe MM might offer walshie birch's job or even,.........birch for manager
Zingari Posted 27 October 2007 Posted 27 October 2007 least roy keane stayed in football and learnt from a top manager.it takes more than passion to succeed. you have to know tactics , be a good man manager , have an eye for the right kind of player for your team and be lucky too. oh , and be able to handle the pressure when things go against you. but surely these things do not come with being experienced as a "manager" ; they are probably learned as players ; some of the most experienced managers ( peter reid , ron atkinson , glenn hoddle ) don't seem any better now than they were when they started , in fact it could be argued they are worse now than as rookies
