they are all out of work but had their time in the sun.

you have to be lucky too and theirs ran out.

with hoddle and atkinson it was their mouths and personal veiws that destroyed their careers and reid was just a one hit wonder , like megson appears to be.

you could of said the same thing about roy keane...

Roy Keane went and worked on his coaching badges, Grayson coached and took control of a reserve team... If Walsh took the Leicester job as seriously as he says, then he would have done his badges or at least done some coaching lower down the ladder. Walsh has sat on his arse since he retired and has now decided he fancies a go at managing, not exactly the commitment or passion he reckons he'd bring is it!!!

Walsh no.

why? instead of hanging around trying to get the job on his "past" he should have been out there getting his badges & doing some spadework like Taggart. He hasn't worked at an academy, coaching reserves, none league, pub league etc.

I know he says he will need somebody with him that has experience if thats the case then maybe he should be that persons coach/assistant.

The phone in today was a joke it was a suck-up to walshy from sinclair all the callers wanted walsh, it was a fit up.

Walsh no, great player but if he has ambition, he would have shown it already.

A leicester connection needed, Grayson maybe, walsh NO.

I know I've already said this but he was an absloute joke on the radio on Saturday. He sounded like he was in an interview with Milan Mandaric.

Did he give his 'incisive insight' as to what he would change tactically?

Yes, several times, the system didn't work apparently, we needed to change it and drop Sean Newton, until we scored the first goal from Newtons ball in, then he kept quiet.

your right, my mate was listening to it while watching the match (sad, but true) he said walsh was embarrasing, wouldn't respond if another potential managers name was mentioned, but nothing could have been more embarrasing than the phone in after, some of them were people that knew him personally, surely he didn't get them to call in? it was cringworthy.

As I have already said, if he wants a managerial role, he should get off his backside & start to earn it.

I say give it to Taggart and let Walshy be his assistant and get his badges for next time.

For goodness sake, how ridiculous can you get !!!!!!!

We have to have some influence for the strikers, let's bring Tony Cottee and Steve Claridge into the club as part of.......

THE FAB FOUR :bounce:

He's got a point though, Newton has been dog shite all season.

he needs to prove himself first in managing a lower league club.

he could be brilliant or he could make a total mess of things.

doesnt this apply to any manager?

jewell who has a good record could make a mess of it here.

in thoery we could take on mourinho and be relegated

no garuantuees in football it always a gamble

keane was a gamble for sunderland and it paid off.

Alot of people who say no to walsh have not gave a reason I feel for them its they dont want him to lose his hero status should it not work out.

Others have said its because he has no badges.

In my opinion management isnt about passing a test to get badges its about knowing the game from experience and ability to motivate players walsh should have these qualities, tactically he can have an assistant alongside him to assist him in that department and I would taggart to also be on his team.

If it were not to work out we know MM has the balls to change it before its too late so it wouldnt be the end of the world.

What I do know is we have tried appointing up and coming managers (levein and MA2) didnt work out, appointed experienced manager (megson) didnt work out. I also know there is no option of getting a established proven manager such as jewell or davies they just wouldnt come here, we cant even attract dowie who incidently I think would be a poor choice.

That counts for nothing in management tho!

How much did Kenny Dalglish,Mark Lawrenson,Jan Molby and John Barnes win with Liverpool?

All shite managers.

Blackburn may disagree with you on dalglish.

You pick out them I pick out.

Bruce, Hughes, Keane to match your 3 :) Ince also isnt doing too badly at the moment.

You're missing the point by such a distance it's amazing.

What has Walsh done since hanging up his boots?

Set up a Golfing Business in Spain....which went tits up!

And is a world renowned radio matchday commentator(which Manwell can vouch for!)

My neighbour used to be a professional footballer, he also goes to matches most weeks, is very knowledgeable about the game.

He's seen the city play several times, knows what we need to improve as a team, he also has no coaching badges or managerial experience.

Does this mean he could do the job.

Err, don't think so.

Walshie is living in cloud cuckoo land if he thinks he should be considered for the post.
