toblerone Posted 25 October 2007 Posted 25 October 2007 Walsh and brian little dream team combo!!!!!!!!1
ASH17LCFC Posted 25 October 2007 Posted 25 October 2007 Never thought i would say this but .... YES PLEASE. He is leicester through and through and as been watching us for along time ... He knows what needs to be done and the fans would give him 100 % support. Fook it we have gave it to all these people and they have done fook all ... Why not walsh ? A man who would die for the shirt.
The Reverend Posted 25 October 2007 Posted 25 October 2007 Dont do it Walshy! Dont run the risk of ruining your reputation!
El_Thief Posted 25 October 2007 Posted 25 October 2007 It'd be a mistake to appoint Walsh. lets be honest can't get much worse than the last few months/years
Wherethefoxhat? Posted 25 October 2007 Posted 25 October 2007 Walsh and brian little dream team combo!!!!!!!!1 I think NOT------------after a certain dalliance between Mr Walsh & Mrs Little !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Zingari Posted 25 October 2007 Posted 25 October 2007 i'd be all for walshy ; i don't think he'd mind so much milan meddling with the transfers etc if he got final say on team talks tactics etc go for it walshy
Matt Posted 25 October 2007 Posted 25 October 2007 Nope. Sick of people saying "I think such and such [Add a ex Leicester player's name] should be the new manager" Taggart as coach fair enough, a lot of the time you don't get a bad name as a coach when you fook up as a manager is when you get a bad name for yourself. Walsh was a great player, Legendary status, why ruin that name he's got here? He may do alright but chances are he wouldn't. Yes Roy Keane, and Paul Ince gone on to do well in management, but there not managing at the clubs they've played for and got such a good name at are they?! I love Walsh to take over and he does absouloutly brilliant, best manager Leicester City has ever had, but come on were Leicester City that would never happen. Jewell or Dowie for the job, More realistically Dowie but as I was saying last night Milan has the money offer Jewell some good cash, Jewell has already (Unconfirmed) turned us down in the past, he turned Bolton down (Again unconfirmed) and hopefully Jewell isn't driven by money like most people in the game are but we have to try and go out our way to get Jewell. A few months ago when we were first linked with Dowie I said no-way, but he ain't done a bad job at Coventry and i'd like to see Dowie here now (2nd on my list, After Jewell)

Because Grayson played at the same time as Walsh, with the SAME passion & he's served his apprenticeship more than successfully on a real tight budget---------- LOOK NO FURTHER MM--------YOU'LL GET LOYALTY,AMBITION AND THE BACKING OF THE FANS!1 It makes my mouth water anyhow!!!!!

demon_dog Posted 25 October 2007 Posted 25 October 2007 He may want the job, but doesn't something like coaching badges be required before you can become manager. I don't think Walshie has any of these, so don't think it's a possibility.

Walsh would do ok if he had someone like Brian Little helping him out. I'm not saying he'd do any worse than "all these real managers" but what i'm saying is if he did a bad job here as manager his legendary status would be lost by alot of Leicester fans, Potentially he could go from Hero to Zero and don't give me the "we wouldn't" bullshit. Equally he could do an amazing job (If given the job hopefully this is what would happen) but it's a big gamble. Don't get me wrong i'd be happy to see him here and I would be 100% behind him, and much happier to see him appointed than I was when Megson was appointed but just see it as a huge gamble.

I say give him a chance.
maddog Posted 25 October 2007 Posted 25 October 2007 He has to go for Walsh i think. There is a long list of names who have failed miserably in the last few years. We won't get Paul Jewell. No good manager will want to come to us because of the lack of job security. The only way out is a real Leicester man with passion for the club. Walsh is the one for me now. He has been commentating this season so has been watching all the games so thats a positive. He will have an idea about the players from the matches, and will know how to lead and motivate players after being Leicester captain. Come on Milan don't get another walking dead man, Dowie's recent form with Cov has been awful. Go for Walsh, he will certainly have every single fan's support.
Leonisco Posted 25 October 2007 Posted 25 October 2007 I totally agree, we gone through enough shite managers with "experience" and all the "badges" but since Adams they've all been clueless goons. I say give him a chance. It's too big a gamble. If we weren't in such a mess I might be in favour of giving him a go, but the way we're heading at the moment we'll be relegated if we're not careful. I know what you mean, though, going for "experience" won't necessarily be successful. But it's a safer option. Unfortunately we're not in a position to take gambles like this.

Phlashman Posted 25 October 2007 Posted 25 October 2007 I think a better idea would be to have him on the coaching staff like Gerry and let him get his badges under another more experienced manager like Dowie. Then a few years (or months, or weeks) down the line he might be in a better position.
Sooper Steve's shin Posted 25 October 2007 Posted 25 October 2007 He talks sense on the radio and you can tell that he's passionate. He would certainly get the players motivated and that counts for a lot in my book. I'm not sure how he would do tactically, but I think his motivational skills alone would see us safe from relegation this season. That would give him some time to get used to the job. Bring in some good backroom staff and I think this wouldn't be a bad appointment. As rightly pointed out, the likes of Megson and Levein came with all the coaching badges, tactical nous and experience of managing successful teams. Look how they turned out. Any new manager's a gamble, but what we are lacking at the moment is a bit of fight. If those players knew a Taggart/Walsh double team was waiting for them in the dressing room, I think it might motivate them. Main drawback apart from the obvious? He would be more popular than Milan - and I'm not sure he'd like that (see M. Allen).
Simi Posted 25 October 2007 Posted 25 October 2007 Please do not appoint Walsh. I think it would be a complete disaster. No doubt he'd want Tags with him as well. Just because he's an ex player doesn't mean he has what it takes to get us out of this league let alone try and keep us in the Premiership. We need stability now, I'm sure as hell Walsh wont give us that.

Guess im just baised towards him though, he is a true Legend here. you can be sure we wont get Jewell, Grayson, Dowie or any quality manager. No one will want to come here now unless they are paid a lot. Walsh actually does want to manage Leicester City and that makes him the one i want. I dont think Jewell, Dowie etc could say honestly they really want to manage us, and help the club get out of this division. they will just be there for the money.
