Thracian Posted 26 October 2007 Posted 26 October 2007 On what possible basis would anyone appoint Walsh manager of Leicester City? At the time when he might have been getting the vital experience to back his case he was swanning around in the world of golf promotion. Where are his coaching/managerial credentials? What has he achieved thus far? The guy should be applying for jobs at the likes of Lincoln. He might know what's needed but so does everyone else. Providing what's needed is the hard part. And when has Walshie demonstrated that he can do that - as a manager? Wikipaedia seems to have nothing more to say about him after 2003.

Hullfox Posted 26 October 2007 Posted 26 October 2007 That's it then. No more to be said. Another convert to the cause. I disagreed with it at first but then when people kept pointing out that he's a legend it all made sense. Why an earth would you need anyone who knows how to coach or manage a football club when you've got a legend (who is a part time radio pundit aswell) who had said he'd be interested in the job. Why, there's not even a need to advertise the role in the Job Centre or the Mercury anymore. Welcome aboard.
He's not bald Posted 26 October 2007 Posted 26 October 2007 That's it then. No more to be said. I don't even know why this is being discussed Walshy ain't getting the job in a million years Mandarich might be as mad as a box of frogs but he's not stupid!

And I will put money on something else if recent trends are anything to go by,the new manager will be a name out of the blue that nobody his mentioned and probably an unpopular choice!
Hullfox Posted 26 October 2007 Posted 26 October 2007 Wait.....I forgot.What about Bernie? Isn't he a legend? Now we're talking dream tickets
Simi Posted 26 October 2007 Posted 26 October 2007 Wait.....I forgot. What about Bernie? Isn't he a legend? Apparently he's having trouble getting the message across that he wants the job.. "AHHHHHHHH, MEGSONNNNN, GINGGERRRR, WANKAAAA. AHHHH, I'D DO BETTA LA LA, LEICESTERSHIREEE, AHHHHH"
Lineker's Left Foot Posted 26 October 2007 Posted 26 October 2007 Dont do it Walshy!Dont run the risk of ruining your reputation! Whatever happens re his performance as a manager, he'd still be a legend in my eyes
Pete_foxes Posted 26 October 2007 Posted 26 October 2007 Well, for me over recent years one thing that his been missing since Walshies day is pashion. If he could install his pashion for the club into the players then I think although risky it might work. Depends if Milan wants to take another risk or go for a safer bet.
Lord Nibblington Posted 26 October 2007 Posted 26 October 2007 This thread is brilliant. Just a general point on people saying "Even if Walsh does crap, he'll still be a legend!!!" I'd say have a look at oooh... say... Glenn Hoddle's reputation at Tottenham before his stint as manager, and his stint after.
Smiffy Posted 26 October 2007 Posted 26 October 2007 If Walshy wants a job based on his passion MM should give him a pair of pom pom's and a mini skirt! I respect him as much as the next for what he has done for the club in the past but as its been said, the hole we've dug is a bit too deep for gambles like that.

I bet you all a tenner i'd like it more. Doesn't mean I could do it. Stupid to even consider.

Daz.I Posted 26 October 2007 Posted 26 October 2007 It would be worth giving him a go but should really get some-one experienced prefebly Paul Jewell top man, out of them two I'd say
Raj Posted 26 October 2007 Posted 26 October 2007 We've been in the shit for 5 od years. Now is not the time to let a legend have a go just cos he aint got anything else better to do. Walshie IS and ALWAYS will be a Leicester Legend. BUT he is NOT a football Manager. Yes he HAs Passion. Yes he cares for this Club. But we cant keep making the wrong appointmenst as managers. Ive said it after the Allen departure that MM must pick the right man. He Picked Megson, who might have been if he didnt fcuk off to Bolton. WE have to get THE right man THIS time. Steve Walsh IS NOT the man.
gasman68 Posted 26 October 2007 Posted 26 October 2007 Don't be too downhearted lads,at the present rate of going through managers we are due to get Alex ferguson by August 2008?
Scow Posted 26 October 2007 Posted 26 October 2007 Don't be too downhearted lads,at the present rate of going through managers we are due to get Alex ferguson by August 2008? We'll come full cycle and end up with Peter Taylor again.
gasman68 Posted 26 October 2007 Posted 26 October 2007 Good point,imagine 6 weeks with mark(spit)magee? Aaaarrrgghhh!!!
Scow Posted 26 October 2007 Posted 26 October 2007 Good point, imagine 6 weeks with mark(spit)magee?Aaaarrrgghhh!!! Well, we would get Stephen Hughes back for a stint. Got to be better than Andy King.
r1deano Posted 26 October 2007 Posted 26 October 2007 it dont matter who we get in as the new boss, as long as mm is pokin his nose in team stuff (buying players he wants!) we aint goin nowhere!
