Joe. Posted 25 October 2007 Posted 25 October 2007 Walsh wouldn't lose his legendary status as a player by becoming our manager. Unless he gets his boots back out and becomes player manager People's opinions of Walshy would change if he had a disastrous spell in charge here.
Matt Posted 25 October 2007 Posted 25 October 2007 Walsh wouldn't lose his legendary status as a player by becoming our manager. Unless he gets his boots back out and becomes player manager Easy to say now but as said earlier in the thread, what if (and who knows could be a completely different scenario but i'm not willing to take the gamble tbh) we were losing 4-0 at home, would you still be laughing to yourself "Ah Walshie whadda legend"? or would you be unhappy, wanting him to be sacked?
Raj Posted 25 October 2007 Posted 25 October 2007 People's opinions of Walshy would change if he had a disastrous spell in charge here. Too right. we are Leicester fans. 3-4 bad defeats and we would be telling Walshie to fcuk off!!!!
AyewJoking Posted 25 October 2007 Posted 25 October 2007 I would love Walsh to be our manager. It would instill passion in the fans for one thing. The football we play might be questionable but could things get much worse than they already are?
PAULCFC Posted 25 October 2007 Posted 25 October 2007 Best thing for me would be Brian Little.........{Who in my eyes is as much a LCFC Legend as Walshe.)With Walshie and Taggs as backup.
Hullfox Posted 25 October 2007 Posted 25 October 2007 FFs it's half term isn't it? The night will be even longer than anticipated. Comparing Walshy and Southgate is a bit off the mark I'm afraid. Southgate played in the 5 or so seasons for the Boro before becoming manager. Walshy left us 7 years ago. Southgate has a working relationship with his chairman Steve Gibson developed over the last 7 years. Walshy wouldn't be recognised by Milan in the street. And as for Walshy declaring an interest in the job, of course he is, but if you think that it's for the good of the club rather than his own pocket you're very very mistaken. He's currently flogging rounds of golf with himself for £400 on the internet with I'd hazard a guess little success. He needs Leicester City much more than we need him.
Hullfox Posted 25 October 2007 Posted 25 October 2007 As for Brian Little, is that the same Brian Little that has already walked out on us once or am I missing something? Maybe it was just a dream.
PAULCFC Posted 25 October 2007 Posted 25 October 2007 As for Brian Little, is that the same Brian Little that has already walked out on us once or am I missing something?Maybe it was just a dream. True, but that was a long time ago to Villa, who he played for and and had ties to,if it was any of us we'd have done the same at the time.
Scow Posted 25 October 2007 Posted 25 October 2007 Appointing Walsh has disaster written all over it. For a start, just because someone is passionate about the club, it doesn't guarantee success - which a lot of people seem to be suggesting. Being too passionate can actually be a downfall - it's likely to lead to look at situations subjectively rather than objectively. He's pointed out a few things on the radio - whopee, even I could do that and so could a number of fans as mentioned by a number of posters in this thread. He has no qualifications and seemingly has had no desire to look in to coaching badges - in addition to this, he's also had little involvement in football since retiring. Apart from the fact he was a terrific player for us, can anyone enlighten me as to why he would make a good appointment?
Hullfox Posted 25 October 2007 Posted 25 October 2007 True, but that was a long time ago to Villa, who he played for and and had ties to,if it was any of us we'd have done the same at the time. Not sure if any of us have played for Villa.
the_bowman Posted 25 October 2007 Posted 25 October 2007 I was behind Megson, I thought give him a chance we don't know what he's gonna do. Stick by him for a while, even if results go wrong. But, after he decided to leave after being here for just 6 weeks I think that he is a tosser. But Walsh, I dunno I'm not that bothered really I just think get someone in if we can and see where it goes, I get past caring at times

YOu think you know all the fcuking answers dont you! actually i agree with everything you've said! Really cant see the attraction in Brian again. He did do a great job for us and i loved him dearly but it was in the past. Let us remember him as he was. A bloody nice bloke and a very decent manager!
Scow Posted 25 October 2007 Posted 25 October 2007 YOu think you know all the fcuking answers dont you! actually i agree with everything you've said! Hullfox IS the answer I tell ya.
Raj Posted 25 October 2007 Posted 25 October 2007 Hullfox IS the answer I tell ya. What to our managerial crisis???? He's good but even he cant be THAT good!!!
PAULCFC Posted 25 October 2007 Posted 25 October 2007 Not sure if any of us have played for Villa. oh you know what i mean!
PAULCFC Posted 25 October 2007 Posted 25 October 2007 Not sure if any of us have played for Villa. And if not i'm sure the Humber meets the Soar somewhere.......Dip your head in it!
Kilworthfox Posted 26 October 2007 Posted 26 October 2007 People's opinions of Walshy would change if he had a disastrous spell in charge here. Sorry mate to pick you out but this is all people ever talk about in Walshy for manager threads! Walsh gave everything for the club, he IF given the job would have 100% support from the fans from the start. I would be outraged if anyone dare to speak against him. He deserves a chance more so than any other geezer I.E another Megson Mercenary who don't give a fook! Lets get off the If bus and get on the Walshy express, IMO he has the right to try due to his previous for the club. If he did not do so well, I still would not speak ill of him. He is a legend. Look at F*rest fans and Cloughie, they don't go on about 1994 do they, they just harp on n on about the late 70's early 80's.
Leicester_Mad Posted 26 October 2007 Posted 26 October 2007 fook it, cant do any worse than anyone else thats been in charge the past few months and years and he loves the club. The fans would be on his side and he would put some passion back into the dressing room. Something like this could bring the club back together...
Fez of Mahrez Posted 26 October 2007 Posted 26 October 2007 No no no no no no no no no no no no no no no a million times no. Idiotic idea.
Manwell Pablo Posted 26 October 2007 Posted 26 October 2007 Don't want him in charge. If it all goes wrong, it's going to scar the memorey of the best centre half we've had since I've supported this club.
Babylon Posted 26 October 2007 Posted 26 October 2007 I don't often do this but.... Pro Walsh = Moron.
Zingari Posted 26 October 2007 Posted 26 October 2007 sometimes you just have to take chances ; this looks like one of those times , where has all the "safe pair of hands" style management got us ; give the job to walshy , in all probability at the end of the season we will not be in any more serious danger of relegation than we are now , and it could very well work ; at least the players will be on their toes watching out for their missus
The People's Hero Posted 26 October 2007 Posted 26 October 2007 I don't often do this but.... Pro Walsh = Moron. 1) Correct. 2) Babylon is not only one of my favourite posters (de jour) but is also one of my favourite David Gray songs. And yes, I'm in to middle of the road singer songwriters with a slight accent.
