Zingari Posted 26 October 2007 Posted 26 October 2007 Grayson moved into coaching in 2004-05, managing the reserve squad at Bloomfield Road with some success. The fact that the reserve side were winning and playing passing football didn't go unnoticed, and he was named caretaker manager of the first team in November 2005 following Colin Hendry's departure. After successfully preventing Blackpool from relegation that season he was given the job on a permanent basis for the start of the 2006-07 season where he has steered a Blackpool side battling against relegation last season to promotion contenders. What an idiot! All that effort! He should have just gone to live in southern Spain and moan occasionally about how crap Blackpool were! took the same route into management as rob kelly then, doesn't prove a thing does it
dandannieldanok Posted 26 October 2007 Author Posted 26 October 2007 took the same route into management as rob kelly then, doesn't prove a thing does it Very true
Fez of Mahrez Posted 26 October 2007 Posted 26 October 2007 took the same route into management as rob kelly then, doesn't prove a thing does it It proves that he actually made an effort to carve out a managerial career for himself at a lower league club by starting out managing the reserve team after he finished playing, rather than fannying around running restaurants and golf ventures and then suddenly deciding he fancies a stab at managing a large football club. So Blackpool were actually just "taking a chance" on someone who was already doing good things for their club in a managerial role.
Manwell Pablo Posted 26 October 2007 Posted 26 October 2007 How many football players have tried to go into management and been absloutley shite at it. And by shite I mean poor enough to see us finish bottom never mind relegated.
FleckneyFox Posted 26 October 2007 Posted 26 October 2007 may aswell put it in here Megson press conference comin up next on ssn

Fez of Mahrez Posted 26 October 2007 Posted 26 October 2007 yes but it did not prevent him from being crap Firstly, I was talking about Grayson. Secondly, this argument is pretty pointless seeing as Mandaric will not be approaching the task of searching for a new manager with the sole criteria that "THIS BLOKE IZ A LESTA LEDGEND!! HE CARNT B NE WORSE THAN WOT WE HAV HAD 2 PUT UP WIV B4!!!!!!!!" Shame, that. Oh well.
Manwell Pablo Posted 26 October 2007 Posted 26 October 2007 I reckon we should employ John Barnes, he's a Liverpool legend and Liverpool are loads better than Leicester.
Fez of Mahrez Posted 26 October 2007 Posted 26 October 2007 I reckon we should employ John Barnes, he's a Liverpool legend and Liverpool are loads better than Leicester. Yep - and he's black, so he'll have something to prove.
Manwell Pablo Posted 26 October 2007 Posted 26 October 2007 Yep - and he's black, so he'll have something to prove. I don't see Thracian approving. Prehaps he'd prefer Merson. He's an Arsenal legend, they're loads better than Leicester too, or Tony Adams. I can and will do this all day until you all get the message.
dandannieldanok Posted 26 October 2007 Author Posted 26 October 2007 OK you're all right let's go for experience........Peter Reid and David Pleat are available.
Flynny Posted 26 October 2007 Posted 26 October 2007 I reckon we should employ John Barnes, he's a Liverpool legend and Liverpool are loads better than Leicester. That Alan Hansen seems to know what he's talking about on the telly. And everyone knows TV > radio.
Manwell Pablo Posted 26 October 2007 Posted 26 October 2007 OK you're all right let's go for experience........Peter Reid and David Pleat are available. have stopped taking your pills again Dan. Just because we want to go for a manager who's been around for, well, longer than never, doesn't mean we want shit managers. You have no point.

Manwell Pablo Posted 26 October 2007 Posted 26 October 2007 That Alan Hansen seems to know what he's talking about on the telly. And everyone knows TV > radio. Gary Linekar. Leicester Legend AND a TV Pundit. Leicester Leagend + TV > TV
breadandcheese Posted 26 October 2007 Posted 26 October 2007 I don't see Thracian approving.Prehaps he'd prefer Merson. He's an Arsenal legend, they're loads better than Leicester too, or Tony Adams. I can and will do this all day until you all get the message. Tony Adams may not be too bad a shout in the future. After his debacle at Wycombe, he seems to be learning the game behind the scenes a la Mourinho did when he was in Portugal and Spain. Edit: I must add, this is not a post in support of Adams. I think Dowie would be a good appointment and will certainly know this league and which players he wants as he'll have been scouting and looking whilst at Coventry.
Manwell Pablo Posted 26 October 2007 Posted 26 October 2007 Honest question, who do you want to take the job? Russel Slade, I'd settle for Dowie, certainly over Walsh. I'd welcome Newell as well.
Flynny Posted 26 October 2007 Posted 26 October 2007 Gary Linekar.Leicester Legend AND a TV Pundit. Leicester Leagend + TV > TV Nope. You already said Liverpool are a better club, and so a Liverpool legend is better. Besides, who else pulls off uncomfortably revealing trousers that well (other than Terry Wogan?).
Manwell Pablo Posted 26 October 2007 Posted 26 October 2007 Nope. You already said Liverpool are a better club, and so a Liverpool legend is better.Besides, who else pulls off uncomfortably revealing trousers that well (other than Terry Wogan?). Thats true. I hadn't factored in the liverpool legend bit Liverpool Legend + TV > Leicester Legend + TV. However Leicester Legend + England Legend + TV X Walkers Crips adverts > Liverpool Legend + TV / Scotland - inabilty to shave. Linekar for Leicester
Flynny Posted 26 October 2007 Posted 26 October 2007 But that dent in his head is SOO cool! Besides its exactly what Gareth Southgate did apparantly??!

Manwell Pablo Posted 26 October 2007 Posted 26 October 2007 What message is that then?? Your mum rang, she says if she finds one more two inch long skidder in your pants your doing your own washing from now on. And appointing unproven managers often goes wrong.
