Ashley Posted 27 October 2007 Posted 27 October 2007 What were they singing? i couldn't understand them They were singing your just a town full of paki's
Father Ted Posted 27 October 2007 Posted 27 October 2007 They were singing your just a town full of paki's Now that's a disgrace! Oh, and how can you start a thread like this. How pointless!
Nod.E Posted 27 October 2007 Posted 27 October 2007 Now that's a disgrace!Oh, and how can you start a thread like this. How pointless! To add to that discrace i heard this bloke sat near me shout " USELESS FCKING PAKI " Several times. Directed at the ref. Yes the bloke was a shit ref but theres no need for that whatsoever!

Yes the bloke was a shit ref but theres no need for that whatsoever! It was also Kick Racism out of football day, which makes it even more of a disgrace!
SamL Posted 27 October 2007 Posted 27 October 2007 I dont think the ref today was the best ref we've ever had but what can we do? Racism is not the answer. I don't agree with it at all. I had to leave 5 minutes early on tuesday night to catch the 10pm train, other than that i never leave early no matter how long it takes me to get out of the ground
Nod.E Posted 27 October 2007 Posted 27 October 2007 It was also Kick Racism out of football day, which makes it even more of a disgrace! I know! It just takes the p*ss really. I was not happy at all. The same bloke was effing and blinding at the olayers while we were 2-0 up. OK so we werent playing like Brazil but when your 2-0 up its kind of inevitable we are'nt going to be playing attacking football. It's not on the top of the agenda is it?! When your 2-0 you just want to keep possesion and not concede! Someone behind me said " we are 2-0 mate! " I could resist saying " exactly! " He went on to say " yeh but I want 7 " Leicester fans i tell you.
Joe. Posted 27 October 2007 Posted 27 October 2007 The ref wasn't that bad I didn't think He didn't get any of the key decisions wrong did he?
Nod.E Posted 27 October 2007 Posted 27 October 2007 The ref wasn't that bad I didn't think He didn't get any of the key decisions wrong did he? When you look at it like that i guess your right. But its refs like him that give football a bad name. If you went down you got the freekick! It makes football seem a game for puffs when it really isn't! plus he was whistle happy and gave yellow cards out far too easily!

John deserved to get booked for a cynical trip and Sheehan's was a poor tackle. Can't argue with them.
Yaxx Posted 27 October 2007 Posted 27 October 2007 I dont think the ref today was the best ref we've ever had but what can we do? Racism is not the answer. I don't agree with it at all. Here here. I thought it was great to see an Indian ref, though I must admit to wondering what on earth his motivation to become one! Alas you just knew there'd be a few dumb ****s yelling Paki this and Paki that, but many of those sitting near me were calling him Monty which i thought was quite funny and complimentary really. It's a shame he lost the plot a few times, but on the whole I thought he did a good job as refs go. As for people leaving early, it was understandable on tuesday given the shite we were watching but I was surprised to see it today given we were winning for a change!
Nod.E Posted 27 October 2007 Posted 27 October 2007 The yellow cards were valid. John deserved to get booked for a cynical trip and Sheehan's was a poor tackle. Can't argue with them. Fair enough. I didnt have the best of views. I agree with Johns yellow though. I just think he was far too fussy.
Floating Fox Posted 27 October 2007 Posted 27 October 2007 The ref was one of the better ones around imo. As for Barnsley's Racial chanting, right to Peter Jones if your that bothered!
Mr Happy Posted 27 October 2007 Posted 27 October 2007 At the end of the day, each and every person (whether having payed for their ticket or not) that attended todays game is entitled to stay/leave whenever they want!! Theres no law stating that you have to stay for the full 90mins, I mean if you live so far away that leaving 5mins earlier guarantees you getting out before everybody else then - why not do it Don't get me wrong, I stay til the very end of every game I go to. I'm damned if I'm about to miss something as you never know what will happen in them last 10mins or so, I mean city could have gone on to score another 2 goals Also by spurning out racial abuse at the ref on anti-racism day, is absolutely shocking to say the least! The Barnsley fans get a big thumbs down from me, twice in fact as we should all be trying to stamp this out of all sports not just football. To top it though they start by saying it in Leicester, of all places, I mean we possibly have the biggest mutli-cultural society in England so we weren't going to take kindly to it! I wonder if any of the racist barnsley pricks got beat up on the way to the coaches?
Micky Ruddle Posted 27 October 2007 Posted 27 October 2007 My mate is a Barnsley from, from Barnsley (obv.) and he said they were singing Scousers Till Ya Die....what the... God knows why they leave ten minutes before time. As the topic title says...Disgrace. Oh, and some gypsy had a go at me...(thats two in two matches now ) don't sing about Fulop, you will jinx him for Chelsea match....What A Twat! Excuse my French
Ultra Posted 27 October 2007 Posted 27 October 2007 Here here. I thought it was great to see an Indian ref, though I must admit to wondering what on earth his motivation to become one! The ref had a shocker today, but you could say the same about plenty of white refs we've had lately. Racial abuse of any kind is out of order. The game was pretty much dead for the last half hour. We shouldn't get too hung up if folk left early, especially with Upperton Road being shut which would have disrupted post-match traffic.
Thracian Posted 27 October 2007 Posted 27 October 2007 That's simply explained. We had lost all our ambition, the game was won and there was no purpose in staying any longer. Taggart showed that he is no different from anyone else. Get what's necessary to win and shut up shop. One day we'll appoint someone special but Taggart is nothing special despite the chants. Also I suspect many fans were sick of watching the referee. If he could find an excuse how he loved to blow his whistle. Why do the authorities employ such people if it's not for some sort of positive discrimination purposes? For job satisfaction, he'd be better off in in a band.
Unit Posted 27 October 2007 Posted 27 October 2007 Upperton road hasnt had road works for ever! Are you joking? I take it you've not walked over the bridge in the past few days? because you can't. As for the racial chanting, the closest thing I heard was about the ref being Monty Panesar, only the PC'est of PC could call that racist though.
Neil982 Posted 27 October 2007 Posted 27 October 2007 I dunno if it's already been mentioned but I think today was of the days that companies sponsering the stand got free tickets, I know my place offered out 50. Maybe the mentality is, didn't pay for it = just ain't that bothered. Good to see a win though!
Yaxx Posted 27 October 2007 Posted 27 October 2007 Also I suspect many fans were sick of watching the referee. If he could find an excuse how he loved to blow his whistle. Why do the authorities employ such people if it's not for some sort of positive discrimination purposes? Whilst I'd agree that such politically correct nonsense does regrettably go on in many echelons of our nanny state, I hardly think that's the case here. Just because he's all on his lonesome doesn't a token make. I can't even think of any top professional indian/pakistani footballers playing in this country, so all credit to the guy he obviously just enjoys the game and has come through on merit. Yes, some of his decisions were a bit frustrating; yes, he was easily conned by the Barnsley players constantly dropping like flies; yes he was a bit whistle happy; but he wasn't that bad for heaven's sake and I think overall he was pretty consistent in his decisions. By comparison the linesmen were a disgrace. For job satisfaction, he'd be better off in in a band.
Daz.I Posted 27 October 2007 Posted 27 October 2007 Don't think it's a disgrace at all to be fair leavnig a few minutes early from a game that was dead and buried
Joe. Posted 27 October 2007 Posted 27 October 2007 It's hardly a disgrace. People have paid for their tickets and if they want to leave early then so be it. Some people have reasons if they live far away etc.
Manwell Pablo Posted 27 October 2007 Posted 27 October 2007 In regards to the ref, Mr Singh (his first name esacpes me) is a League One/Two refree normally, obviously he's had a few good games and got himself promoted to the Championship for the weekend. I've seen him ref two or three games live when I was living in Huddersfield and I've seen a few more on television as well and in all honesty I think he's a terrible ref. On the bright side if he was really as bad as you all say he was today he'll be on his way back to where he once came. The FA are always hard on refs after they've been knocked up a level, and exactly the opposit when the situation is reversed, Clatenberg will no doubt get a Premier League game next week now the fuss has all died down.
Southern Fox Posted 28 October 2007 Posted 28 October 2007 so you drive all this way to see the game, and you dont watch all of it? the seats i had were in K1 and they were right near one of the exits. If you choose where in the ground you sit, and its also ear an exit it gives you a huge head start over everyone else No chance. I have sat in the same seat for about 4 seasons which is in the centre of the Kop. I have left dead on final whistle but still by the time you get to the car - im stuck in traffic. I have Radion Leicester on so its all good. Thats for the advice though but it wouldnt work. My dad is in his 60's too and I cant see him jogging/sprinting to the car
