Raj Posted 1 November 2007 Posted 1 November 2007 Im afraid supporting City for so long you get used to these false dawns!! Obviously i pray it will be the start of an unbeaten run in the League, but lets not get too carried away with it. Just enjoy it while you can!
sbenson Posted 1 November 2007 Posted 1 November 2007 I just want to say how much pride I feel after watching City come so close. No one expected us to win, or probably even score and to score 3 goals at The Bridge is a fantastic acheivment in itself. Im gutted that it was snatched away from us so late on but thats football sometimes I guess. I felt that everyone gave a great account of themselves, even Darren Kenton who after watching at Forest have to say I really wasn't a big fan of him but he's shown he can preform. Anyway I just hope we can take the kind of performance we gave last night into the league, and if we do I can see us moving on up rather quickly. Pride Of The Midlands!
Mikey Posted 1 November 2007 Posted 1 November 2007 Incredible night. Right from getting into Chelsea off the bus, finding the ground eventually. McAuleys goal, I just couldn't believe it although nothing could have prepared me for what was about to come. Thought it had gone by the time Lampard got his 2nd but getting to H/T only 2-1 down was vital.2nd half I have never experianced a football match like it and I've been to many. The deaf silence when DJs header looked in and seemed to hang in the air for hours then the roar greating it, that was truely magic. Then Sheehan puts the ball down, I actually said to a mate if this goes in I'm jumping off the upper tier. Ok I didnt jump but I've never gone so mad at scoring a goal, (it was madder than Nils at Preston) and then to find out it was big Carl who put it in, well that just capped it all, didn't it a player who has looked so out of place here and has donw naff all all season pops up with that! It just could not have been scripted. Then after that I said "whatever happens now, I am so proud of our club" Then it got to 85 mins I thought "do we dare, can we really do it" But at the end of the day there was just no keeping them out with SWP, Essien, Lampard, Malouda, Kalou, Shevchenko and Pizzaro all on at the end we just couldn't hold on. And when the last minute winner went in I really did not know whether to laugh or cry. Then getting out the ground the night seemed to evolve even further, despite the loss, the voices of City fans could be heard street after street Chelsea fans seemed to look at us in envy as the show of true, mad football fans shone through. we went through street after street and every chant seemed to get louder and even funnier. You what youwhat youwhat youwhat youwhat" to the police woman on the tannoy on a horse trying to tell us where to go was brilliant Coaches pulled up at the walkers at 2:50 after a hurrendous journey back although I selpt through a bit of it. Then finally walked in my front door at 10 past 3 and collapsed on the sofa. Epic night, truely epic. It was ala Fulham but on a much bigger scale. Anyone who say's "yeah but you threw it away in the last minute" has missed the point by such a way its incredible. I will look back on this night in many years to come and still feel the immense proudness that I feel now Leiester till I die You have covered aboslutely everything I experienced. What night, what a game, what a club. Although our coach got home at 4:00. Mad, the driver had no idea. Leicester Till I Die !
lcfc_jme Posted 1 November 2007 Posted 1 November 2007 It's also nights like that that make you realise how ridiculous football is, that we all invest so much of our time and money into wanting a ball to go over a line. And then all going bananas when it does. How it's eleven men trying their hearts out for ninety minutes in opposition to some of the most famous sportsmen in the world and the attempt to triumph against the odds and how you feel a part of it despite no physical effort or ability on your part.We have been spoilt in the Cup over the past few years - Reading, Charlton, Blackburn, Fulham, Forest, Villa and Chelsea have all been absolutely incredible days out. Yes it's frustrating that we can't take support like that everywhere and it's silly really that people think these games are somehow more important when we're never going to win these Cups in the state we're in now but nights like last night and feelings like when the Campbell and Cort goals went in, you'll never forget for the rest of your life. I'm feeling contemplative today. Absolutely beautiful and I don't think I could have put it better myself. I'll remember last night for a long, long time. We came within 5 minutes of ending a 2 year ( ? ), 60-odd home-game unbeaten run against a team which collectively cost a LOT more than our squad and stadium combined. Absolutely brilliant day out. Chelsea won't be run that close or get that worried at home for a long time I don't think, and that's a credit to everybody who played yesterday. Our players and our fans did us as a club proud yesterday. Amazing.
Basingstoke Fox Posted 1 November 2007 Posted 1 November 2007 That was by far and away the BEST football game ive been to! simply incredible i was suppossed to be going with my best mate but had to go with an arsenal fan, before the game he had never been to a propper game didnt know much about football was saying we would loose 5-0 but when we were singing before the game his face said it all, its so good when locals near me who are all Reading Arsenal Man Utd Chelsea Liverpool Southampton Portsmouth etc. realise what a great club we are it was just great to see him taking the mick before the game and in the space of 90 minutes he had been transformed into thinking were a great team (yes hes an idiot but i dont care! ) That game beats Reading in the FA cup a few years ago which for me is really special because to have won against reading like that was fantastic with there being so many reading fans where i live and its nights like that which make me SO proud to be a Leicester City fan!! :) FOXES NEVER QUIT!!!
Bert Posted 1 November 2007 Posted 1 November 2007 When you haveChelsea fans telling you how well you've done is enough to know that we scared the shit outta them.

This always happens to us - getting beaten in the last minute on great nights of soccer - it's so heartbreaking !!!
Floating Fox Posted 1 November 2007 Posted 1 November 2007 Was a really proud night! Will remember it for a long time like you said mate. Got my own speical reminder with SEAT 107 from the SHED UPPER :w00t: (Manwell inspired me) Great place stamford Bridge was as well, awesome with it being really close to all the houses and bars etc really enjoyed walking down singing songs & having banter with their fans about Dennis Wise (Cu nt) Anyone in the Slug & lettuce pre-match? Christ, I'll remember that for a looong time, can't beleive that having so many part-timers turn up would have resulted in such a good night out, but I suppose it was more the effort the lads on the pitch put in that did it See you all at Colchester, right?

I was in the slug and lettuce pre match The game was amazing. Best football i've seen in years from Leicester. I was going mental for all 3 goals, however the third goal got abit carried there was about 10 of my mates celebrating the goal together then we fell over the seats to the row behind i got kneed in the head and some random bloke picked me up and started hugging me then my mates joined in.
Jack Posted 1 November 2007 Posted 1 November 2007 Quality Night, Quality Game. The Players Gave It There All, You Can't Ask For More Than That.

Joe. Posted 1 November 2007 Posted 1 November 2007 It was definitely an incredible night, one to certainly remember, but at the end of the game I couldn't help feeling totally gutted, probably the most I'd ever been. Just to know that we were 8 minutes away from beating one of the best teams in the world in their own back yard, with all their multi- million players out on show and going through to the quarter finals of the Carling Cup was just one of the best feelings. So when that feeling's crushed by Andriy Shevchenko it's hard not to feel gutted I was proud of our players last night, like all our fans, but it does annoy me how they can only turn it on against the bigger teams and don't look interested when it comes to playing teams in the Championship.
Jack Posted 1 November 2007 Posted 1 November 2007 it does annoy me how they can only turn it on against the bigger teams and don't look interested when it comes to playing teams in the Championship. If the players consitently gave it there all like last night, there's no doubt we'd get promotion.
WetFlannel Posted 1 November 2007 Posted 1 November 2007 The result never truly mattered, with a performance like that, its brought so much more optimism and belief within our players... its amazing how much a performance can do to the prospects of the rest of the season
Ashley Posted 1 November 2007 Posted 1 November 2007 I fell down to the row in front worth it though! What gate numer where you?
lee7 Posted 1 November 2007 Posted 1 November 2007 amazing, incredible the best game i've ever been to. our support was amazing and the players played out of there skins.
Mr Happy Posted 2 November 2007 Posted 2 November 2007 Job well done lads Now lets see the rest of the season played out in similar style with a glorious run in the fa cup and us challenging for the play-offs and if for any particular reason, the squad seems disjointed then this performance can be used to help spur the players on to achieve these goals
