Tommeh Posted 1 November 2007 Posted 1 November 2007 Incredible night. Right from getting into Chelsea off the bus, finding the ground eventually. McAuleys goal, I just couldn't believe it although nothing could have prepared me for what was about to come. Thought it had gone by the time Lampard got his 2nd but getting to H/T only 2-1 down was vital. 2nd half I have never experianced a football match like it and I've been to many. The deaf silence when DJs header looked in and seemed to hang in the air for hours then the roar greating it, that was truely magic. Then Sheehan puts the ball down, I actually said to a mate if this goes in I'm jumping off the upper tier. Ok I didnt jump but I've never gone so mad at scoring a goal, (it was madder than Nils at Preston) and then to find out it was big Carl who put it in, well that just capped it all, didn't it a player who has looked so out of place here and has donw naff all all season pops up with that! It just could not have been scripted. Then after that I said "whatever happens now, I am so proud of our club" Then it got to 85 mins I thought "do we dare, can we really do it" But at the end of the day there was just no keeping them out with SWP, Essien, Lampard, Malouda, Kalou, Shevchenko and Pizzaro all on at the end we just couldn't hold on. And when the last minute winner went in I really did not know whether to laugh or cry. Then getting out the ground the night seemed to evolve even further, despite the loss, the voices of City fans could be heard street after street Chelsea fans seemed to look at us in envy as the show of true, mad football fans shone through. we went through street after street and every chant seemed to get louder and even funnier. You what youwhat youwhat youwhat youwhat" to the police woman on the tannoy on a horse trying to tell us where to go was brilliant Coaches pulled up at the walkers at 2:50 after a hurrendous journey back although I selpt through a bit of it. Then finally walked in my front door at 10 past 3 and collapsed on the sofa. Epic night, truely epic. It was ala Fulham but on a much bigger scale. Anyone who say's "yeah but you threw it away in the last minute" has missed the point by such a way its incredible. I will look back on this night in many years to come and still feel the immense proudness that I feel now Leiester till I die

Although someone will proably say they didn't now. It was a testamony to ourteam that they had to bring on the players that they had intended to rest. C'Mon you Blues.
Dr The Singh Posted 1 November 2007 Posted 1 November 2007 I haven't watched city play all season, yesterday was the first and it has wetted my appetite for more, I feel rejuvinated!!!!

Although someone will proably say they didn't now.It was a testamony to ourteam that they had to bring on the players that they had intended to rest. C'Mon you Blues. Agreed. £24million Essien and £13million Malouda being two of them (figures are probably wrong, just off the top of my head) I got quite angry when they scored their third and fourth goals, was yelling to nobody in particular about how much their team had cost compared with ours; Fulop loan, Kisnorbo minimal amount, N'Gotty free, McAuley free, Sheehan free, Stearman free, Newton free, Chambers minimal amount, Kenton free, Cort free, Fryatt half a million or so? Our entire starting XI cost less than £1million and mainly consisted of right-backs.

Stearman Kenton Chambers N'Gotty McAuley Maybury
The People's Hero Posted 1 November 2007 Posted 1 November 2007 Our entire starting XI cost less than £1million and mainly consisted of right-backs. And as you pointed out, they still penetrated our left flank on a regular basis. I'm off to gorge myself on bacon and crab.

OriginalRobboFOX Posted 1 November 2007 Posted 1 November 2007 Incredible night. ........Leiester till I die Top post. When Carl Cort scored a little bit of jizm came out and I'm not afraid to say it....
jonw88 Posted 1 November 2007 Posted 1 November 2007 Best match I have ever seen, first time i've watched Leicester in a couple of years but definitely have an appetite for more now! I didn't stop singing all night, our support was truly phenomenal, we completely drowned out all the Chelsea fans, who only sang when they were winning. It was slightly worrying that we only had one real midfielder in Newton on the pitch, and 7 defenders! And once Levi went off injured there were none... Need Clem and Wezzer back! But we have proven we can compete with the best of teams.. Chelsea being full of multi-million pound rated internationals from Brazil, Portugal etc. compared to our freebies, we completely matched them. WELL DONE LADS!
Fez of Mahrez Posted 1 November 2007 Posted 1 November 2007 It's also nights like that that make you realise how ridiculous football is, that we all invest so much of our time and money into wanting a ball to go over a line. And then all going bananas when it does. How it's eleven men trying their hearts out for ninety minutes in opposition to some of the most famous sportsmen in the world and the attempt to triumph against the odds and how you feel a part of it despite no physical effort or ability on your part. We have been spoilt in the Cup over the past few years - Reading, Charlton, Blackburn, Fulham, Forest, Villa and Chelsea have all been absolutely incredible days out. Yes it's frustrating that we can't take support like that everywhere and it's silly really that people think these games are somehow more important when we're never going to win these Cups in the state we're in now but nights like last night and feelings like when the Campbell and Cort goals went in, you'll never forget for the rest of your life. I'm feeling contemplative today.
Maybes Posted 1 November 2007 Posted 1 November 2007 Top post. When Carl Cort scored a little bit of jizm came out and I'm not afraid to say it.... I thought cort had a good game. Seemed to hold the ball up well. The fact that we lost 4-3 didnt really bother me it was the fact we had chelsea shitting it in the last 15mins.
OriginalRobboFOX Posted 1 November 2007 Posted 1 November 2007 Shitting it so much they rolled out the big guns in Essien, Kalou etc... When they came on I though, 'Here we go....' Do you play for AFC Beau Ressies by the way??
Trav Le Bleu Posted 1 November 2007 Posted 1 November 2007 We came within three minutes of being the first team to beat Chelsea in domestic football at Stamford Bridge for 46 games!!!! And they didn't exactly put the 2nd team out either!!! I can't believe that I am sat here today disappointed that we didn't beat Chelsea Wednesday aftertoon I was just praying we weren't going to get tonked! Great work lads! Now lets do it again against Colchester in front of the cameras!
Ozwin Posted 1 November 2007 Posted 1 November 2007 Words cannot describe how I feel at this precise moment about our night of pure heaven last night. Fair enough we lost but I cannot fault the players whatsoever and it's just occasions like this that make me truely feel as though Leicester are a special club. I was wondering if there are any classy images around, considering it's Chelsea n' all (Probably have amazing photographers) that I could get framed or something. Might be a bit overboard but I really want to remember that evening. We lost but we shown the country something so so special.
BigGibbo Posted 1 November 2007 Posted 1 November 2007 Orgasmic was a word i sent in texts to a couple of cov & villa fans that described the night was a bit over excited at the time
Sods Posted 1 November 2007 Posted 1 November 2007 We always play as good as the oppostion. Its nights like that, that i am proud to be a leicester fan. From getting a 50 pound taxi and back from bletchley and taking the train down to london, listening to the constant shit from chelsea/tottenham fans. I was on the tube when told to get off, but i decided to follow a bunch of chelsea fans to the ground who were very helpful. Getting in the ground was great, do i look like a assain. Us leicester fans were great made the chelsea fans look like tits. Darren Kenton! Never will i forget the moment we turned it around, i stood for 5 miniutes with my hands on my head in disbelief, i nearly cried after our 3rd. I couldnt care if we lost 4-3, lets be honest we had to go out in the cup sometime. But from watching all the cup games from stanley to chelsea, it made me realise why i keep going back to see more.
maddog Posted 1 November 2007 Posted 1 November 2007 That was by far the best Leicester match i have ever seen! I may get shot for saying it was better than the Bergkamp hat trick 3-3 but i thought it was even though we lost. I was gutted str8 after the game that we couldn't hold on for 4 minutes and added time, it was just devastating, a typical Leicester end, always concede in the last minute and give it away The trip home was awful as with accident on the M1 didn't get home till 3.30! I wouldn't have cared if we won but was a bit demoralised. Still an excellent game, we could have easily been 5-1 down or worse before we scored our 2 goals. Expected to be thrashed and we nearly won! Man City just lost there 6-0. Terry, Cech, Drogba were missing but that was about it, an extremely strong Chelsea team. Unbelieveable what a game, we played so well, i feel so confident we can win every single Championship league game now, we can beat anyone! Usually id be pissed off if we got a big team like Man U away in the Fa Cup, but now i don't care, bring them on we can beat anyone! We have shown we are capable of beating Chelsea even though we just lost but so close! Cort was fantastic, he must have been on performance enhancing drugs! The ball seemed to travel in slow motion when Campbell headed it in, the silence, then the craziness when it went in. Cort's goal just suddenly happened unbelieveable! What a game :D:D Did anyone else feel they were in some sort of strange dream world when we were 3-2 up, i just couldn't believe it, how could it be, we lose to Blackpool, SHeff Utd etc yet we are 3-2 up at the Bridge against the holders amazing. Turned back into reality when we went 4-3 down though But who cares. We will probably be the only team to score 3 at the Bridge this season, we have done a better job than any other Championship team would have done or most Prem teams look at Man City. I just can't type how pleased i was when we were 1-0, 2-2, and 3-2 up. WE can do anything, win every league game Burrows manager and Taggs assistant it has to be. Good luck Colchester cos you are gonna be the 1st team to be batterd in our new era after that amazing Chelsea performance :)

Ozwin Posted 1 November 2007 Posted 1 November 2007 ^ Damn straight! I said before the game that this was the start of our season and I can truely believe that we will kick absolute arse this year from now on out. Ahhhh, I'm still smiling and getting goosebumps from thinking about how exhilirating it was.
Monk Posted 1 November 2007 Posted 1 November 2007 Good luck Colchester cos you are gonna be the 1st team to be batterd in our new era after that amazing Chelsea performance Lets not get ahead of ourselves yeah?
