danny. Posted 8 November 2007 Posted 8 November 2007 having not long ago drank around 15 cups of filter coffee a day, to cutting back to around 5 cups of strong coffee and tea a day, I am now trying to cut out caffeine all together. Yesterday I drank only Camomile tea, not the nicest tasting stuff, and wow what a headache I had last night! It's like a hangover with no alcohol.
The People's Hero Posted 8 November 2007 Author Posted 8 November 2007 No exaggeration, I drink about 20 cups of tea a day. I tried to cut down a bit ago as my doctor told me to (idiot/heathen) but I was getting headaches and stuff. I've got worse since joining this company, it's a cup of tea every 20 minutes here.
Raj Posted 8 November 2007 Posted 8 November 2007 I like Chai. Good old Indian chai If not available, good old PG will do.....but no sugar...me is sweet enough!
Phube Posted 8 November 2007 Posted 8 November 2007 I'm drinking a cup of tea now! Only PGTips though... as am at work!

Wils Posted 8 November 2007 Posted 8 November 2007 Tea's for wimps. <hides>.Coffee's where it's at. The stronger the better - black, no sugar... just pure unadulterated caffeine. Preferably via a non-stop intravenous drip. Oh your one of them teachers who always stinks of coffee ay. Ewww.
James. Posted 8 November 2007 Posted 8 November 2007 Just to move the discussion on slightly... how do we all prepare our cup of tea? After experimentation the following process works best for me: 1. Place tea bag in mug 2. Place sugar, if required, in mug 3. Pour required amount of milk in mug 4. Add hot water 5. Press tea bag, stir, leave a bit, press again, stir, press once more, take tea bag out and then one final stir. The crucial factor being adding milk BEFORE hot water. This of course assumes that the tea is made in a mug. Teapots would of course be preferable but not always available.

The People's Hero Posted 8 November 2007 Author Posted 8 November 2007 I prepare mine by shouting.....'make us a cuppa, love' I did that once. Never again. Not only did I get a load of fu cking earache but it was the worst cup of tea I've ever had. If you want something doing properly, do it yourself.

The People's Hero Posted 8 November 2007 Author Posted 8 November 2007 Yes, milk before hot water. Anyone who does otherwise is a savage.

The People's Hero Posted 8 November 2007 Author Posted 8 November 2007 I wonder how he likes his tea. Probably with a leggy blonde and a log cabin.

It takes longer to brew to an acceptable strength if you add milk before the water because it's cooler. I use a teapot anyway, which means I get to have two cups of tea in a row AND add the milk before! Fantastic.
Phube Posted 8 November 2007 Posted 8 November 2007 Sorry, but you should brew tea with Boiling water (100 degrees C) coffee with ~95 degrees. But you put the milk in the cup first if pouring from a teapot! Any thing else and you're aren't brewing up properly! Ofcourse the next question is: Do you own a Tea Cosy?? I myself have had one foisted upon me by the inlaws as they'll drink tea from the pot for hours!!!

Phube Posted 8 November 2007 Posted 8 November 2007 The man speaks sense. You can't enjoy a proper cuppa if you don't brew proper. Well quite!! But you missed the important tea cosy question!!!
Alexikokopops Posted 8 November 2007 Posted 8 November 2007 Well quite!! But you missed the important tea cosy question!!! I can only dream of having a tea cosy. My teapot's only small so I've no need for one. One day, when I invest in a teapot the size of all four of Ultra's chins then a tea cosy will be on the cards.
