SOCCERROO FOX Posted 13 November 2007 Posted 13 November 2007 As the title state Playstation portables are they any good and is it worth getting one. I noticed all the games are the same as ps3 and ps2 are they exactly the same or reduced cos psp can't support a "full version" Im mainly thinking about getting one as they seem to fit in to my budget a bit more and spend over 2 hours on a train a day, it may help pass the time. Your expert opinions are needed.

Your expert opinions are needed. mmmm PSP's are pretty good, the graphics annoy me now, but thats only because of me playing PS3 (and someone elses 360 all the time) but saying that i cant play PS2 games anymore because the graphics and bugs in the game frustrate me. The PSP console is good at being a media centre, you can store video/music/pictures on it which is kl, u can even store your pawn on it if you wish which im sure could keep u amused . Game wise im not so sure, fifa 07 on PSP was a big let down for me, havent played 08 yet. And the MGS games on it do not do the series justice. However some games are good, like rainbow six, and the medal of honour game thats on it, the GTA series is kl like liberty city stories, and vice city stories and stuff. if youve got the dosh definatly worth the buy, and the way the PSP is fast becoming linked with the PS3 i think its a good investment. PS3 is the future though, id save your money up and get a next gen console if i were you.

The Stig Posted 13 November 2007 Posted 13 November 2007 I had one and it was excellent, however I didn't like using it as an MP3 as it is too big, but for games and t'internet its brilliant and in my opinion its the best hand hold games console there is, the graphics are very impressive.

SOCCERROO FOX Posted 13 November 2007 Author Posted 13 November 2007 I may get one as i can see myself playing Ricky Ponting cricket on it flat out and possibly get football manager on it . Its not just for the train but that would certainly probably get more use out of it and games are cheaper so would be able to get more games as mainly getting something as won some coin on the greyhounds the other day so will spend money on a games console of some sort instead of spending it on the punt . I thought about a Wii but apart from G1 jockey and a couple of those tennis games where you have to swing your arms etc it would be shit and frustrating Also do games like Fifa have a full database of teams etc as ps2 and ps3 do, or is it a reduced database.
Bojimha Posted 13 November 2007 Posted 13 November 2007 I had a psp, even loaded a custom firmware (google DarkAlex PSP firmware or something), I downloaded tons of roms and ordered a massive memory card to fit them on. I had all the hottest titles and didnt even pay a penny, needless to say it was crap and i never even bothered with it. The most exciting part of having a psp was hacking it and the most satisfying moment was selling it on 3 months later for a £50 profit. I owned a DS before I got my PSP, and I still own it now. Very enjoyable, always take it around when I travel and I also have a G6 lite yay (again google!). DS is a lot cheaper, go for one of these!
