SamL Posted 20 November 2007 Posted 20 November 2007 I'm not challenging people and asking them to prove how many games they've been to. Just simply speculating, seeing all the people that almost seem desperate to get a free ticket, is just a little frustrating from my point of view having paid for my season ticket and gone to all but one away game this year. I feel your frustration Ched. It's a bit like with all the people who suddenly became Leicester fans just to go to Chelsea. The thousands turn up for this game and the big games, but where were they at S****horpe, Plymouth, Preston etc. where attendances were poor. Giving free tickets to STH's hasn't really rewarded us because we go to the games anyway. Yes it has been said before but it needs repeating. What about rewarding the people who make an effort to go home & away, week in week out to see the crap we have to put up with. Ok, for some people it might not be practical to go week in week out, but for some this will be their only game all season. That is what frustrates me along with the false advertising of 'rewarding' season ticket holders.

Would you be happier if there was only 15,000 at the game? I take your point about having already paid for your ticket but at least I can treat (if that's the right word ) people who wouldn't normally go, and hopefully they'll drive and I can get a drink.

No, of course not. I want my club to support it's fans that make an effort week in week out. I want my club to back ideas that fans put forward, then to carry on backing them, not run away from them. I appreciate people will take advantage of this offer. I know it sounds like I'm taking my frustration out on the fans that are going, but in truth it's the club I'm annoyed at. For claiming this to be an award for ST holders when in reality, it's the same free ticket policy they've been employing for the last few weeks.
filbertway Posted 20 November 2007 Posted 20 November 2007 I'm a real arm chair fan, I didn't even want a freebie. None of this freebie glory supporting malarkey. 'Mon the ravens!!!

For claiming this to be an award for ST holders when in reality, it's the same free ticket policy they've been employing for the last few weeks. I can see your frustration, and perhaps it is the clubs way of dressing up one thing as another - giving away free tickets yet pretending its a 'reward' to ST holders. However, I do see it as a benefit to ST holders though albeit perhaps a small one, after all you guys get to choose what to do with the tickets. If I were a ST I'd be happier with this than general sale at a fiver, but obviously I'm not so I'm not 250 squid worse off and saying that I've been lucky enough in that I've picked some up for a lot less than I would pay otherwise - the chap I'm buying them off gets a bit of cash, I get a saving the only ppl who lose out are the club who lose out on a sale. Being honest I probably wouldn't have gone otherwise anyway - working about an hours drive away and finishing at 6 make it a rush but for a fiver I'm happy to mad dash.

I wasn't attacking you either fella, im a nice guy really And i know what your saying about having a season ticket and seeing free tickets given out to armchair fans or whatever but im a student now and have for the past 2 years had to watch Leicester on very rare occasions and i hate it. Being as im back next monday and had the oppurtunity thanks to the legend that is Fez Ferdinand i jumped at it. Recently i have gained employment back in Leicester and have looked into getting a half season ticket whilst im down here for the weekends anyway. Would that make you happier

Mate, have a look in the closest mirror. Someone's stampted your foreheard with the word MUG
thybluefox Posted 21 November 2007 Posted 21 November 2007 I don't think you can blame the club to be honest. We go, week in, week out, and put up with some seriously shit games, but I'm sure we'll all keep going. But people who aren't as into the club as you or I, need some kind of incentive to actually go. After all, all they hear is chat about how rubbish we are, why would they pay £20 to come and see us? Give people some free tickets, and you never know, they may well come again. Mean while they're buying drinks and burgers and program's, and filling the stadium, hopefully giving what we've all been bitching about, a good atmosphere. They're trying to do something to improve the attendance in the long run, and good on them for doing it. It would be much easier to sit back and do fook all. On the 'giving them to season ticket holders' point, you've got to have some kind of control about giving them out, and personally I think its the easiest way to do it. Just my two pence, though.
JakeShingler Posted 21 November 2007 Posted 21 November 2007 i will buy 2 tikets 4 a 5iver tht would be cool pm me bak please

Just my two pence, though. I agree with that. But the problem that I have is that they disguise this as a reward for season ticket holders. Yeah, we got 20% off at the shop, but that is yet again money going back into the club. I know I sound like a moaning twat, but if I'm honest, I don't care.
Raj Posted 21 November 2007 Posted 21 November 2007 Dont see what the shit is about giving freebies away for this game to ST holders. Its Cardiff. Its a Monday night. Its live on Sky. It would have been a shitty attendance so why not give ST holders free tickets to give away to try and entice people to come regular. I paid £350ish for my ST but im not bothered about others getting a few tickets free if it helps the atmosphere and may encourage others in the future....
JakeShingler Posted 21 November 2007 Posted 21 November 2007 please could i have the 4 tickets so me and my 2 kuzons can take my lil brother to his 1st game

It's not going to help the atmosphere, just because they'res more peple. If I was a season ticket holder I'd be pissed off because yet again people are getting in for free when they have paid. If I had been to every game I would have paid about £30-40 so far without a season ticket because I get to so many games for free!
