Loan Deadline

I wouldn't rule it out to be honest. If Mandaric is at the stage where he can legally talk to Holloway, he might have been given some targets from Ian and be working on them before the deadline. A bit far fetched I suppose.

As Flair says, I wouldn't rule it out with Mad Mandy at the helm at the moment, but I don't see it happening. It just doesn't make sense to get someone in that probably wouldn't be in the new managers plans, unless it was like Jason Koumas or something?

I'm considering an audacious move to take Jimmy Nielsen on loan next month.

Our secretary is off and I simply don't know how we'll cope.

You should take his wife instead - used to be her job, and she is gorgeous ;-)

Richard Chaplow would be nice, or Neil Danns.

Both of them would be yeah, hard working midfielders, but I'd die for some wingers so we could actually have a pop at playing 4-4-2 again. Although 3-5-2 has some potential when used correctly.

To late I've already taken him on a months loan as my tea boy.

I am thinking about sending him back though, he's only been here a week and he's dropped 4 mugs already.

I don't think that's far fetched at all... If we CAN do it, then I think we should.

Shit, another 6 weeks of Stearman.

If we play 4-4-2 I wouldn't be suprised to see Chambers back in his proper position, especially if Holloway's watched any of the Blackpool game. On the other hand when we beat Watford N'Gotty played there. So who knows? I wouldn't be suprised to see Stearman's run coming to an end pretty soon now.

I don't think Stearman's too bad really anyway, though. There's just something missing there. To say confidence would be a cliché, but sometimes watching him he plays like he's afraid. Sometimes he'll back off his man for about 20 yards, which means, yeah, the man doesn't beat him, but also that they usually get a cross off at least. Hoofing it away at any sign of danger suggests the same sort of thing to me.

The only thing really annoying is that we all know he does have the ability.

I think Stearmans position is resting on what Taggart says to him. I'd guess these first couple of weeks is going to make or break for them really. Taggart will be putting names forward that deserve a chance and what not, if Stearman isn't one of them then I really do hope to see Chambers get a fair crack in his proper position.

I'd say judge Stearman now we're switching to 4-4-2. Wipe the slate clean and judge him playing in a position he is more comfortable with. He has never, nor ever will be a wingback.

Edit: Steering this back on topic, I'd be surprised to see any transfer activity before January transfer window so can't imagine any loans.

I see what you're saying. He had enough chance there last season though, fact is, he has not improved in two seasons of football, albeit under several managers. If, like I've said many times, he puts his head down and actually remembers to play football and not panic and hoof it. He could do a job there, but to be honest, I've seen enough of it and would like to see Chambers given a go.

That's fair enough. Maybe it's blind optmism, but I feel Stearman is the sort of character who will thrive under Holloway. For all the likening of Holloway to Allen with their cheeky soundbites, Holloway seems far more empathetic, yet with a desire to drive on and succeed. I think that's the sort of manager Stearman needs.

We'll see over the next few games. Maybe I've bought into the PR but I'm genuinely excited and optimistic about Holloway's appointment.

Not just you mate, me as well, but it's on the pitch that matters.

Regarding Stearman though and you saying about the type of manager. I think he definately needs a manager with discipline, under the likes of Kelly, Worthington and Megson he has been nothing short of poor considering the hype that surrounded him not long ago. I'm sure everyone has heard about his so called ego, maybe he needs a bit of a reality check and dropped for a bit to get his head together. :dunno:
