Manwell Pablo Posted 27 November 2007 Posted 27 November 2007 I know what you're saying but the performance we put in yesterday was by far superior to any of the other games we haven't scored in, in recent times.Cardiff have also underperformed this season, they missed Darren Purse and it's taken them and him a while to get it back together but they will be one of the improved sides in the new year and may well be challenging us for a play-off place. Cringe, play offs, there it is again!
Babylon Posted 27 November 2007 Posted 27 November 2007 I know what you're saying but the performance we put in yesterday was by far superior to any of the other games we haven't scored in, in recent times. 20 minutes aside, it really wasn't in my eyes.
Dr The Singh Posted 27 November 2007 Posted 27 November 2007 I can imagine Holloway now knows how big of a task he's got. ALthough you can see city trying to play more effective football, but the execution was poor by the players. There was no control or sustainibility in our play, and our wing play and penetration was very infrequent!! The last 20 minutes was about heart and passion, although we created very little in open play, we seemed dangerous at set-pieces!! I agree with many, I don't think we can judge Holloway for a while, there are many positives but the gaping lack of talent in our squad is apparent!!!
Ric Flair Posted 27 November 2007 Posted 27 November 2007 The thing is, Holloway will know there's a massive job ahead but installing confidence in this current set of players is the way to go forward right now. This set of players are all capable of moments of quality on occasions but on a regular basis, it remains to be seen. If Holloway get get them motivated and get them to improve then we'll start to move in the right direction sooner rather than later. I think we'll be hearing and reading Holloway praise our team left, right and centre even if they don't always deserve it because he knows that if he can get them playing with confidence and passion, then they'll be more successful than if he slates them and demands more from them like Megson did. I think the Holloway approach is needed here, I really hope he succeeds here.
AshbyFoxes Posted 27 November 2007 Posted 27 November 2007 Better late than never. Well done guys, bosting 2nd half performance, which should of gave us a win. At least you showed some self belief, which after the last game I went to before last night (Sheff Utd) was a massive improvement. If we see more of this belief, I cant see why we cant make the playoffs. And was it me or did there appear to be more than 27000 fans last night?
Ultra Posted 27 November 2007 Posted 27 November 2007 It was you. There were plenty of gaps in the corner of the north and main stands. Also there looked like there were 4000 places set aside for away fans, even though they only brought 500 max!
C-man Posted 27 November 2007 Posted 27 November 2007 Atmosphere? Pah! Atmopshere was shit till the last 20 minutes, agreed. But what good is 'Stand up and support your team' or 'You're only here 'cos its free' every 5 minutes going to do? Having a pop at the fans isn't going to help anyone. I'm not saying it was you Ched, but I just wanted to point it out. With regards to the performance, it was better than before, but still not brilliant. Last 15/20 mins were very good and we'll start to get better results if we can play with that sort of urgency and attacking mindset. The youngsters took their time getting into the game and we looked poor for 10 minutes either side of the substitutions. Once they got into the game, I was impressed by Hayes and King, and Chambers in particular.

What I struggle to accept is the ignorance of fans towards people that want to sing.
Staf Posted 27 November 2007 Posted 27 November 2007 I thought the atmosphere in the second half was decent
