Rich Fox Posted 3 December 2007 Posted 3 December 2007 Saturday was a new low for the ignorant twats that "support" City. Booing a player, irony or not, during a match is no way to improve our situation.Assholes. Just **** off, the club doesn't need you. Foxes! Do you really think Leicesters fans are any different to any other clubs fans in the country, players get singled out and booed everywhere and believe it or not leicester fans tolerate more than most. I have my pick of clubs living in Warwickshire but Ive been supporting city since 1976 and will forever in spite of people like you. We only deserve about 12000 fans and the manager and the club should bend over backwards to keep the fans otherwise youll be on here moaning saying weve not got enough fans at the walkers.
Mr Happy Posted 3 December 2007 Posted 3 December 2007 I was not there, but I can imagine why Cort was booed - it's been a long and frustrating time as a leicester fan so the frustration will come out at times this season. I'm glad however, that after 3 games of Holloway's regin there doesn't seem to many posts questioning his appointment... yet!I think one thing the fans have to remember - booing Cort because he's crap may harm the younger lads on the field. The young one's won't want to do things wrong and if they hear boo's for one player who says they wouldn't get booed. (In their mind.) If they're afraid of making a mistake that may make them play worse or at least it will effect there decision making process - so say had Cort gone off and been booed before King's strike, would King have had the bottle to hit it from 30/40 yards - with the thought of the crowd's groans in the back of his mind? Sadly the Cort thing - even if it's not boo's, it's going to be silence or un-inspired cheers until he gives us something to cheer about - so rather than boo him, why don't he cheer more for when we see good things? I guess it's for us to all squabble over what is a good thing now! The way i'm looking at this topic now is as I often view some certain reality tv shows like the x factor, you often get certain people going on the show saying they can sing and thinking they can win the show because all their lives their parents, neighbours and relatives have told them that there brilliant. As soon as the contestant opens their mouth, the audience knows that straight away they've been fed false information all their life and they are actually so bad at singing its unbelievable!! (Or as the way plots go believable) If we apply this pricipal to the likes of Cort and Newton then would all the people saying 'don't boo the players its bad for their moral' rather that we cheered when they **** up the simplest of passes? Clapped them for not winning the ball in the air for the 20th straight time? Or sung their names out loud as they score an own goal? When the fans are booing players, to me, it shows that the particular player(s) aren't giving their all and should be doing better (given that some aren't match fit and such) and this should inspire them to play better, instead of coming into the next game to more boos and quite frankly if they can't be bothered to play (after all thats their job) with some passion and a willingness to earn their place in the squad then they possibly shouldn't be a footballer and certainly not at our club!!
Bellend Sebastian Posted 3 December 2007 Posted 3 December 2007 ...would all the people saying 'don't boo the players its bad for their moral' rather that we cheered when they **** up the simplest of passes? Clapped them for not winning the ball in the air for the 20th straight time? Or sung their names out loud as they score an own goal? Why do people keep saying things like this? No one at any point has suggested applauding players for performing poorly. They have simply suggested that performances might be improved by encouraging the players rather than berating them. It's a wild and crazy notion I know. I need a lie down

RowlattsFox Posted 3 December 2007 Posted 3 December 2007 Its not only the morale of Carl Cort that gets affected, its the whole team. It will turn the manager against the fans and it will turn the rest of the squad against the fans. The players will be scared on the ball, they will want to get rid of it as quick as they can in fear of mistakes, what they dont realise is that in getting rid of the ball so quickly they are making the mistakes they are trying to avoid. I dont have a problem with booing at the end of the game, or people venting their frustrations during a game aslong as it is directed at the whole team, not individual players.
Super Arj Posted 3 December 2007 Posted 3 December 2007 a few bad games doesnt deserve a boo . . id like to see the fans that did have a go themselves its hard for someone to perform with so little confidence carl cort knows hes havin a bad season and i think hes really tryin hard to make it better CHEER THE LADS NOT JEER

I dont have a problem with booing at the end of the game, or people venting their frustrations during a game aslong as it is directed at the whole team, not individual players. There's a contradiction there. You say that people shouldn't boo Cort becuase it will affect the morale of the whole team, then you say that you don't have a problem with people venting their frustrations at the whole team (but not individual players). Make your mind up. People need to accept that fans up and down the country will boo or jeer when they deem that players are underperforming or not working hard enough. It may not help the team as a whole but it's the only way of expressing a collective disappointment in a way which the players/management will hear. Chants of 'You don't know what you're doing' were shouted at Peter Taylor/Micky Adams/Levein etc and hardly anyone here raised the objection that 'It doesn't help the team' and/or it isn't productive etc. Anyway, I've made my feelings known on this thread before so there's no point in repeating myself.
Tommeh Posted 3 December 2007 Posted 3 December 2007 "Get behind the lads." And start by going Burnley on a fcking tuesdee night. Frankly if theres more than 400 there it'll be an achivement.
Daggers Posted 5 December 2007 Posted 5 December 2007 Do you really think Leicesters fans are any different to any other clubs fans in the country, Please feel free to point out what this has to do with the price of fish...at a time of your convenience... players get singled out and booed everywhere and believe it or not leicester fans tolerate more than most. Erm... ...anyone? C'mon then Dick Fux - enlighten me, what the hell does this have to do with fish prices as well? I have my pick of clubs living in Warwickshire Marvelous. We are honoured. but Ive been supporting city since 1976 and will forever in spite of people like you. At least Mandy will be relieved, but this news has kind of set back my world domination plans by three days... We only deserve about 12000 fans and the manager and the club should bend over backwards to keep the fans otherwise youll be on here moaning saying weve not got enough fans at the walkers. And so to the big crescendo: Rich Fox - you are a ****nut.
NorthernFox Posted 5 December 2007 Posted 5 December 2007 I didnt miss a home game for nearly fifteen years before I moved North (abroad) and I have to truthfully say I have never home or away booed a player. Some performances have been utterly shite (bournemouth boxing day 86 or 87) some sublime (shrewsbury 5-2 etc) but I love my club forever. This really is the time to stick together. I have never seen carl cort play live but get behind him cos he's wearing a royal blue shirt and we need to. I swore I would never watch City again when they sold Melrose for English. But time heals, just saw Holloways interview on C/Ship. Like his passion, think he will be long time winner for us given time. Now is time for PATIENCE. aLWAYS bLUE NorthernFox. PS Big Kiss for Julie Anne Stevens. XXX (circa Glen Parva 1982)
