Trumpet Posted 1 December 2007 Posted 1 December 2007 each to thier own i suppose , when i play badly (very rarely ) i react better to encouragement rather than abuse / booing . would it not give certain footballs the attitude of "well F uck you lot if you gonna boo me, getz me " said Cort ?
Staf Posted 1 December 2007 Posted 1 December 2007 Fair play to clemence at least he is always honest i think he is one of our best players but today he was awful although everyone has their bad days
The Stig Posted 1 December 2007 Posted 1 December 2007 each to thier own i suppose , when i play badly (very rarely ) i react better to encouragement rather than abuse / booing . would it not give certain footballs the attitude of "well F uck you lot if you gonna boo me " ? Yes you're exactly right, some footballers will react differently to others, but booing will always happen so they need to learn to deal with it.
lee7 Posted 1 December 2007 Posted 1 December 2007 cort was crap today and really he should of came off a lot earlier than he did maybe then he wouldn't of been booed so much.
Dagha_07 Posted 1 December 2007 Posted 1 December 2007 It works both ways if he plays well he would of got a standing ovation but he played shite so he got booed off. He should stop being a baby and get on with it.
WetFlannel Posted 1 December 2007 Posted 1 December 2007 It works both ways if he plays well he would of got a standing ovation but he played shite so he got booed off.He should stop being a baby and get on with it. who said hes being a baby???
Simi Posted 1 December 2007 Posted 1 December 2007 It works both ways if he plays well he would of got a standing ovation but he played shite so he got booed off.He should stop being a baby and get on with it. What has Cort said about the situation then?
The Stig Posted 1 December 2007 Posted 1 December 2007 who said hes being a baby??? Dagah 07 apparantly
SamL Posted 1 December 2007 Posted 1 December 2007 I don't agree with booing players. I cheered when Chambers came on but didn't boo Cort. Yes he's been shit since he came here, mainly down to injuries but we knew that before we signed him. 1 goal at Chelsea doesn't make him a hero so I hope nobody thinks that I just don't think he gives 100%
Chelve84 Posted 1 December 2007 Posted 1 December 2007 Cort deserved to be booed, him and newton are a total waste of space, there probably on 5 grand a week and cant control a ball or pass it, there was no effort, and i for 1, who has a season ticket have the right to boo the useless gits. i don't care what holloway has to say he aint just spent £300 on season ticket with his hard earned money, i have watched that sh** all season. would holloway have spent £27 to watch Cort and Newton put half hearted performanaces in like that? I think not..... If Carl cort aint fit then he shouldn't play! and also can't blame a injury he plays like that every week.
Yaxx Posted 1 December 2007 Posted 1 December 2007 i was disapointed with the reaction , i hate it when people slate our fans but in fairness their are so many arseholes in the stands who aint got a clue about this sport . really pi55ed me off If today was anything to go by there's not too many on the pitch either.
Sparky Posted 1 December 2007 Posted 1 December 2007 If today was anything to go by there's not too many on the pitch either. its true , cheque book desperatley needs to come out again
Rich Fox Posted 1 December 2007 Posted 1 December 2007 I think Holloway was wromg having a go at the fans because thay booed Cort. If what hes saying is right and hes injured he should never have played and sappleton should have started. I think leicesters fans have been more than patient and get behind the team well i dont know why so many bother turning up when the manager who aint been here five minutes makes a comment like that. Also why the hell was he clapping cort when he came off and why winge about the penalty decision we played crap and got tonked end of thats why we lost. However cort was not alone in his crap performance today. We seem incapable of passing to each other and give the ball away all afternoon, maybe they could practice passing to each other in training. Maybe I am coming over a bit harsh but the problem does NOT lie with the fans. P.S I personally did not boo cort or wouldnt boo a city player but i can understand why fans boo.
David O'Leary Posted 1 December 2007 Posted 1 December 2007 I don't enjoy booing the players of the club that I love, but when Cort plays like this week in week out as he does (apparently he played immense against Chelski but I wasn't there ) I must show how I feel, if/when he plays well I will clap him, it's just the way it is.
Yaxx Posted 1 December 2007 Posted 1 December 2007 Clemence Calls For United Front Posted on: Sat 01 Dec 2007 Club captain Stephen Clemence has urged everyone to remain united as the Foxes look to bounce back from their latest setback. City slipped to their fourth home defeat of the campaign on Saturday afternoon as they went down 2-1 to Southampton at the Walkers Stadium. But the experienced midfielder is keen for both fans and players to stick together despite the team's indifferent form so far this term. He said: "It is frustrating and it is obvious to everyone that our home form is causing us the problems. "There are reasons for that but as players we must stand up and be counted and be man enough to do a job at home. "There is pressure from the fans and at times that doesn't help. "We know our fans want to be back in the Premier League as soon as possible and we are no different. "But it's not going to happen over night and it's vitally important that we pull together as one and move up the table. There cannot be a divide." Clemence was more frustrated than anyone after his apparent handball inside the area, which was penalised by referee Richard Beeby, allowed Andrew Surman to score the visitors' winner from the spot. "I do feel quite low along with the rest of the boys," added Clemence. "I was disappointed with the decision but also with myself as I shouldn't have put myself in that position. "Although I didn't think it was an intentional handball, the referee gave it after it bounced up towards my arm pit. "But I've got to get my head together and pick myself and the lads up ahead of Tuesday's big game at Burnley. "We will be determined to make amends and put things right after this result." However, Clemence is convinced that Ollie can help the Foxes travel up to Turf Moor and come away with a positive result. "Despite today's performance and result, Ollie has really lifted the place and his enthusiasm has rubbed off on the players. "We want to do well for him and if would have been great if we'd have rounded off his first full week in charge with all three points. "But we will give it our all again on Tuesday and will be determined to come away with a win. "We do seem to play better away from home at the minute." Instead of this bollocks, how about 'Sorry I played so shit today, I realise it was totally unacceptable and as captain I apologise unreservedly to the fans for what was a shocking team performance overall. We fully understand why people booed, and though we may not win I promise that we will at least make an effort at the next home game'. Nobody expects miracles, but perhaps with a bit more humility and hard work things might improve. The crowd's mood changed today because too many of the players were coasting through the game and making no effort at all to run for the ball or make any kind of challenge.
Kilworthfox Posted 1 December 2007 Posted 1 December 2007 ronaldo gets booed by opposition fans , surely you should be getting behind your own sideedit , i was talking of cristino ronaldo but looking at your avator i presume you mean the Brazillian ? If Shaun Newton & Carl Cort could put in a performance every week like Ronaldo does: 1 we would not have this thread and 2 we would not boooooooooo Those fookers deserve it! What ever you may write on here will not change anyone's opinions on booing, also where does anyone get off on telling other fans how to behave?

What ever you may write on here will not change anyone's opinions on booing, also where does anyone get off on telling other fans how to behave? Too right. It disappoints me when players and managers have a pop at their own supporters. Nobody is saying that booing helps the team or the individual player - it clearly doesn't. But what are we supposed to do when we see pathetic performances from the likes of Newton and Cort EVERY time they play? Toe the line and cheer and applaud them? Bo llocks. We pay our hard earned cash and have the right to express our disgust. Clearly the only way we can show our true opinions is by cheering and jeering. Holloway has been here all of 2 minutes but we've seenl these players for months or years - I think we can see when players are putting in the effort or not. As others have said, if Cort hadn't trained for weeks why play him? He's sh it at the best of times so shouldn't have played yesterday.
Matt Posted 2 December 2007 Posted 2 December 2007 booing just has a negative effect on everybody on that pitch , please tell me who booing actually helps ? I say it time after time after time. 1) It makes us fans feel a little bit better. and 2) I know for sure if I was a player being booed i'd be wanting to prove people wrong. People forget we play there wages, People forget we are there to be entertained, If they should us something to get excited about we will, we'll then create an atmosphere, when there heads drop the atmosphere that has already been created will hopefully pull them through, But it starts with those "football players" on the pitch, not us.
renards Posted 2 December 2007 Posted 2 December 2007 booing just has a negative effect on everybody on that pitch , please tell me who booing actually helps ? I don't boo but what other way is there to express dissatifaction? + it wasn't a one of performance. Booing should be last resort, watching that dross it may be justified. Under MON the his first run of games was dire, there was nothing to suggest he would go on and acheive what he did. The flack he and the team got against Sheff Utd changed are futunes, would it have happened if we were playing ok football who knows? Seemed to shock him (mon) and the side into action

Let's create the same negative atmosphere that has plagued us for years now and make sure the Walkers continues to be an awful place to play for our players! Holloway is dead right about this. We have lots of young players in our first team squad and they are making a good impression so far. We need to create an atmosphere that they can thrive in. Stop whinging about paying your money. If you're not prepared to support and encourage the team then **** off and "support" someone else. It's Holloway or the highway from now on.

You can carry on pretending everything is hunky-dory just because Holloway says so and we've got kids in the team. After all, you wouldn't want to hurt their feelings would you? They're only earning c.£5k a week to turn up once/twice a week at most. If they can't handle the pressure, they should f**k off. People like Halloway and Joey Barton should stop and realise who they are playing for. Leicester City Football Club would be nowhere without its paying and loyal fans. We have a right to express our feelings - whether they be positive in the form of cheering or negative in the form of jeering. Players like Hume, Fryatt, Clemence, N'Gotty, Campbell etc etc don't get booed off when they are subbed - and it's because at least they put the effort on the pitch and look like they care. Players like Newton and Cort who do nothing and look like they can't be arsed shouldn't be immune to criticism because 'it hurts their feelings' or it hurts the feelings of the manager. Welcome to real life. As for Cort being injured and having done no training for weeks - maybe Holloway should have thought about how his immobility would affect the team? Sorry, but if you can't see the real picture you're as blinkered as Holloway - and at least Halloway has an excuse as he's only been here a week. Cort has been woeful all season (like many), and when he doesn't appear to put the effort in then he can be sarcastically cheered (cos that's what it was) or booed for all I care. And as for your "f**k off and support someone else' comment - really childish isn't it? There's no right answer on this issue - nobody can ever PROVE if it will make any difference if we CHEER Cort as opposed to JEER him - so how can you say that it's Holloway or the highway? Still, you've got your minions/buddies on here who dare not disagree with a word you say - carry out cheering the likes of Newton and Cort. I won't.
Phube Posted 2 December 2007 Posted 2 December 2007 But that is Holloway's point, He's here now... it's no longer the past few months, EVERYONE deserves a new chance! He is just trying to do what it takes to get us playing well, and funnily enough some of that includes the fans getting behind the team. If you think it's okay for the fans to voice thier opinons on the team, then Holloway can voice his opinions on the 'support' his team are getting!??
