Brainy Posted 17 December 2007 Posted 17 December 2007 But it says we've made a bid. Our last one was rejected. So it's not concrete or anything.
Father Ted Posted 17 December 2007 Posted 17 December 2007 I really hope we sign Norris. He could be just what we are looking for.
Blue Bob Posted 17 December 2007 Posted 17 December 2007 He is ninety minute player, full of running, does not score a lot of goals, must be good as Southampton offered 800k last August and Ipswich 1.2 million recently when Ollie said he was worth 5 million, those words are going to haunt him now. Maybe, maybe not. remember if the player really wants to join up with Ollie again more than likely it will happen. If plymouth dont want to play ball then neither does he - I believe he is out of contract july 2008??? Be a real shame if he walked away and you got nothing for him and we got him on a free.

Would it? It would for Plymouth but not for us and Milan.

Ryanside Posted 17 December 2007 Posted 17 December 2007 said on radio leicester today that ollie has contacted Plymouth about norris but got a negative response (of course). And it went on to say that he said he didnt want to upset them so is not going to continue along that road! not the type of response i was expecting of ollie tbh
Webbo Posted 17 December 2007 Posted 17 December 2007 Holloway said on RL he won't be bidding for any Plymouth players.
richy2704 Posted 17 December 2007 Posted 17 December 2007 Holloway said on RL he won't be bidding for any Plymouth players. He already has put in verbal bids for both Barry Hayles and David Norris both of which have been rejected, after the Watford match he(norris) implied he would not be leaving as he beleives he stands a good chance of gaining promotion at Plymouth.(this is the quote part by the way, followed i guess by some smart arse quip) Also I see some of your fans dont like the idea of a 36 year old striker, I think you would be surprised how much difference he can make in a game, he never stopped running against Watford and provided the cross in the 89 minute for the winning goal, it seems to me you could do with that sort of commitment. I could see you getting Hayles if its up to our board but feel he may not want to go either as he may see a better chance of promotion with us. Still got Ruben Reid if you are interseted...please

The Reverend Posted 17 December 2007 Posted 17 December 2007 Holloway said on RL he won't be bidding for any Plymouth players. Good. We should be aiming higher *awaits Plymouth fans showing their colours, any minute now*
richy2704 Posted 17 December 2007 Posted 17 December 2007 Get no arguments from me mate if we had the cash we would move for some big players, Plymouth however has never been a big club and that makes it very difficult to attract top class players. Although at the moment we are higher than you(couldnt resist getting that one in) a manager like Ollie will attract these players, however people are starting to take us a bit more seriously and we will start to entice more players down to the westcountry. Which players have you in mind?
Plymouth Pete Posted 18 December 2007 Posted 18 December 2007 Good.We should be aiming higher *awaits Plymouth fans showing their colours, any minute now* Plymouth fan here, I agree with you been saying this all along. If you are a championship side and looking to improve you should be looking at Premier players. Plymouth cant afford this so look at European players, we may be in the bottom corner of England to you, but to a European we are the front door!
General 5 star Rastus Posted 18 December 2007 Posted 18 December 2007 5 million is the minimum bid required to get Plymouths interest according to their website. I dont think our supporters realise how much we have pissed Plymouth off re Ollie. Ras
Rocky Dennis Posted 18 December 2007 Posted 18 December 2007 5 million is the minimum bid required to get Plymouths interest according to their website.I dont think our supporters realise how much we have pissed Plymouth off re Ollie. Ras Bollocks No player in this division is worth 5 Million! 2 Million will seal the deal, money talks!!
MPH Posted 18 December 2007 Posted 18 December 2007 Plymouth fan here, I agree with you been saying this all along. If you are a championship side and looking to improve you should be looking at Premier players. Plymouth cant afford this so look at European players, we may be in the bottom corner of England to you, but to a European we are the front door! ahhhh. yes. but . we might sign an eskimo international. you wouldnt be the front door then, buddy....
Dr_Fox Posted 18 December 2007 Posted 18 December 2007 Bollocks No player in this division is worth 5 Million! 2 Million will seal the deal, money talks!! I agree with the statement that nobody in this division is "worth" £5m but Kenwyne Jones and Michael chopra are recent examples that in today's market that kind of fee can be demanded for players in this division!
Beardy Green Posted 28 December 2007 Posted 28 December 2007 Hi guys, i'm an Argyle fan and i come in peace. I've heard today that Ollie is on the verge of signing Paul Connelly. Shelly, as he's known, is our current right back. To be fair he isn't bad, but defending isn't his stong point. He is much happier going forward, him and Norris make a good combination on the right. I also know that is house is up for sale. His contract is up in the summer. I'm not sure how much of a fee he would go for but at a guess 200 -500k max.

Codswallop, Ollie hasn't stopped banging on about how many right-backs he's got and how poorly the squad is balanced becuase of it.
Babylon Posted 28 December 2007 Posted 28 December 2007 I see the Plymouth fans are getting over it well still... "The only reason Hollowords wants Capaldi is because he knows that he's friendly and in contact with Norris and other Argyle players. He doesn't neccessarily want or need Capald but to his way of thinking it will give him more pulling power to prise our main assets away, especially when TC tells all about the great wages he's on and the superb facilities etc. Its just another power trip for King Liar. Another way of contacting Argyle players without being blatant about it. Lets just hope we can start competing with wages and that our players show us some loyalty which is becoming so rare in football these days." "I think the team spirit actually comes from the isolation and, of course, reasonable performances. Socially the Argyle players mix a lot - because they don't have other professional mates nearby. If you were in some boring northern or midlands rubbish-hole, like Leicester for example, you could mix with players from Coventry, Birmingham area as well as East Midlands teams. At Plymouth there aren't many players who live within easy travel distance of other clubs and therefore you either make friends with those around you or you become lonely. It's one of the few benefits IMHO of being so far from other teams."

Utter sh**e about using him to entice Norris, cant help thinking its a backwards step though, he has a great long throw but to be honest he is distinctly average a solid proffesional but nothing you dont already have. (Capaldy I mean not Chuck Norris keep your grubby mits off)
mmarkie Posted 3 January 2008 Posted 3 January 2008 Another defender.Alright. at least he'll be better than stearman Codswallop, Ollie hasn't stopped banging on about how many right-backs he's got and how poorly the squad is balanced becuase of it. but most of our right backs are rubbish
ibbosuk Posted 3 January 2008 Posted 3 January 2008 For you lot to mull over here is a list of Plymouth players I would not like to lose. In other words worth signing.Goalkeepers - we have two average. Full Back - None worth having. Centre Backs Marcel Seip (rhymes with pipe) Outstanding much admired by Ollie. Kristian Timar, Hungarian, lumbering monster useful for the fight. Matte Doumbe, French very nippy. MIDFIELD David Norris, boundless energy, perpetual motion but inclined to run up blind allys. Peter Halmosi, Hungarian International, Argyles record signing at £400,000 looking a bargain, pure class. Forwards Sylvan Ebanks-Blake, our top scorer but has missed more than he scores. Promising Youngsters. Dan Gosling can play anywhere in defence or midfield England under 18 international. Gary Sawyer, similar to Gosling. Please Take Cherno Samba, Rory Fallon and Rubin Reid and make them into Walkers Crisps or something. That concludes to vote of the Plymouth Jury. Thanks thats very helpfull of you...Do you have the phone numbers as well ??
