Kilworthfox Posted 8 December 2007 Posted 8 December 2007 Week in week out poor performance? Will Olly Notice? Have you?
Micky Ruddle Posted 8 December 2007 Posted 8 December 2007 Chambers (James). Darren Kenton....well actually, hes a utility man now, but yeah, he'll go there.. Kaebi. Chambers Kenton Maybury...
Koke Posted 8 December 2007 Posted 8 December 2007 Surely a good 90 odd percent of folks in here will say drop him. He's too much of a liability and he gets done every damn week by wingers.
WetFlannel Posted 8 December 2007 Posted 8 December 2007 as ive said before, hes been in one of the best defences in the championship so he must be doing something right... today though was dire and i think chambers will replace him eventually anyway
dan_84 Posted 8 December 2007 Posted 8 December 2007 put n'gotty in the middle and McAuley right back
Koke Posted 8 December 2007 Posted 8 December 2007 as ive said before, hes been in one of the best defences in the championship so he must be doing something right... today though was dire and i think chambers will replace him eventually anyway He's been absolute dog shite for a bloody long time now. He was at fault for letting Nathan Dyer head the ball back to the danger area last week, and today he was Chris Brunt's bitch. He owned him. As I've said, he's too much of a liability. Often McAuley and Kisnorbo makes up ground for him and clean up the mess he's made. And not to mention he's often caught in no mans land.
Bert Posted 8 December 2007 Posted 8 December 2007 If anyone deserves that RB spot at the minute. Darren Kenton is the man. WITHOUT A DOUBT.
Kilworthfox Posted 8 December 2007 Author Posted 8 December 2007 If anyone deserves that RB spot at the minute.Darren Kenton is the man. WITHOUT A DOUBT. & lose our midfield dynamo? Are you serious Bert?
maddog Posted 8 December 2007 Posted 8 December 2007 It was time to drop him months ago. Time to sell him in January now.
Milky Posted 8 December 2007 Posted 8 December 2007 His positional sense is awful. Spends more time in right mid or up front than he does at right back, leaving us massively exposed. Defending to him seems like an after thought.

Thracian Posted 8 December 2007 Posted 8 December 2007 This constant anti-Stearman campaign is helping no-one. People have just jumped on a mistake and blown it out of proportion yet I could point to McAuley, as last man, almost giving a goal away, Mattock allowing his man a free header for the goal, Kisnorbo almost slicing into his own net, Cort not having a shot that I can recall, Clemence hardly creating anything, Chambers not threatening at all, Hume looking lost half the time, Kenton looking laboured.... Stearman tried harder than anyone in our team today to try to create something. To do that he had to get foprward, take risks, look an arsehole at times. Would that a few others took some responsibility instead of forever passing the buck. One thing about Stearman. He was always involved today in defence and attack. Which is more than can be said for most.

Hume has been in and out of the team, but generally when he's been playing he's worked his nuts off.

Which is more than can be said for most. I think that's a fair point but tough decisions have to be made if this team is going to get anywhere and James Chambers is better going forward and quicker at getting back than Stearman. He's had his run in the team but we've got a proven-quality promotion-winning right-back in the squad and it'd seem stupid not to use him as soon as he's properly fit. The pressure and focus is on Stearman now and he got done in front of the Kop for a goal. People won't remember a couple of decent passes to Chambers to set us on the attack. They'll remember him being made to look a complete berk by Chris Brunt. Such is life.
Webbo Posted 8 December 2007 Posted 8 December 2007 Hume has been in and out of the team, but generally when he's been playing he's worked his nuts off. He's been like a headless chicken all season, he's lucky he got that goal today cuz he did fook all else and would probably have been dropped for Tuesday.

Which is more than can be said for most. Bollocks. And no wonder hes constantly out of position when hes ''trying to create'' - would'nt mind as much if he ****ing well ever created anything. Or perhaps he gets ridiculed because he gets skinned at least once a game and with better opposition, would cost a goal every time (like today). Let me tell you this. I took an ABSOLOUTE NEUTRAL (not in any way biased) to the game today, and he said he's the worst right-back he's ever seen at this level. Tells its own story. Take your Porsche Stearman, and shove it up yer arse. Another thing. You mention these mistakes that nearly cost us a goal, well they didnt and Stearmans did!

Same with Kisnorbo. Hume has been in and out of the team, but generally when he's been playing he's worked his nuts off. And that's exactly my point. If I were repairing our team one of our ball-wasting centre-backs would have to go. They're getting so much pressure at times they're bound to do good things but they've also been so well protected most of the time they've rarely been exposed one on one, like McAuley was today. Sadly we cannot develop if we keep having to play so many defenders and if we keep giving the ball away so easily. It is that respect that Stearman's worried me at times - far more than his getting turned by a good player on a wet pitch - but today he tried to be constructive with his passing and he gave Chambers an enormous amount of support. Fez has mentioned Chambers but I'm not convinced. He didn't show any signs of being creative in central midfield and if Watford thought he was a terrific attacking right back I'm damned sure they'd have kept him. Anyway, this is not meant to be a criticism of a player I've not seen much. If he proves a better option I'll be happy to say so. It's a defence of a guy who's gettting stick from people partly BECAUSE they want any excuse to replace him. Stearman's not in the best form I've ever seen from him but he's way ahead of some I could mention who are not earmarked as the current whipping boy.

Thrac is right he did get forward a lot and he did create the goal against Burnley . I really doubt that. Take your Porsche Stearman, and shove it up yer arse. Another thing. You mention these mistakes that nearly cost us a goal, well they didnt and Stearmans did! All this blaming Stearman is getting really boring and is letting far more guilty players off the hook.

Clemence was terrific for Birmingham and got player of the season, but they didnt keep him...
