most sense ive heard on this forum in a while...

Last week Holloway talked about the worst penalty he'd ever seen and tat was bollocks too. Just like him saying we didn't deserve to be beaten. I'll believe the evidence of my own eyes thanks - eyes that have seen Stearman play lots of times.

And that's not to make a case for him either. I'd have transferred him given the chance. It's just to say he doesn't deserve the constant hammer because cos there's a prospective new parcel on the tree.

It's funny. Mattock was probably no better than Stearman overall today - everything considered - and yet I didn't hear one word of criticism for him. The back post header was totally ignored becaue everyone was having a dig at Stearman and other things were just glossed over with words of encouragement.

The difference is that Mattock is 17 and has only been in the team for six months. Stearman has made over 100 appearances now and if people still are yet to be convinced then he's obviously going to get more criticism.

And personally I am more inclined to criticise Stearman because I believe we have a far superior player who plays in his position and I don't think he deserves his place at the moment.

As Holloway has said, we are Right Back United. If we've got about eight players who can play there then the position is clearly going to be under scrutiny. It would be the same whoever was there.

All this blaming Stearman is getting really boring and is letting far more guilty players off the hook.

You would doubt it because you are pulling the wool over your own eyes. The lads toss.

The fact of the matter is we aint goin nowhere with players of Stearmans ''quality'' (very little).

And i agree it is getting boring - do you think i take pleasure out of watching an academy product who 2 years ago i thought was a brilliant prospect, playing like he's in the Under 10's side? Course i ****ing dont. And anyone who thinks people do are seriously deluded.

We ALL want the same thing for this football club - and that is to move onwards and upwards, not be hanging onto our Chapionship status.

And who are these 'guiltier players'? Clemence?

He's 1 and Weso , Cort and especially Hume who's been our worst player this season.

Yes Clemence is not pulling his weight and a big problem of his is the huge reputation hes came with. Unfortunately, last season he was surrounded with quality, as i doubt the formation, and playing staff was changed quite as regularly as it is here. Plus he had a manager for a whole season. YES, a WHOLE season! Amazing isnt it! Stability was the keyword at Brum, but things behind the scenes havent helped that here.

As for Weso - this is a 19 or 20 year old kid we are talking about here, who was looking pretty good when fit. It is not his fault he has been rushed back numerous times and aggravated previous injury.

Cort - well, is he ever fit? His knee is ****ed, i know that for a FACT. I doubt he will never play competetive football to a good standard in his career ever again.

And Hume yes i agree with this one - he set himself high targets last season with a pretty decent goal scoring record in an utter turd team, so he was expected to do better in a ''supposedly'' better team. He has'nt and has shown alack of effort compared to last season.

This constant anti-Stearman campaign is helping no-one.

People have just jumped on a mistake and blown it out of proportion yet I could point to McAuley, as last man, almost giving a goal away, Mattock allowing his man a free header for the goal, Kisnorbo almost slicing into his own net, Cort not having a shot that I can recall, Clemence hardly creating anything, Chambers not threatening at all, Hume looking lost half the time, Kenton looking laboured....

Stearman tried harder than anyone in our team today to try to create something. To do that he had to get foprward, take risks, look an arsehole at times. Would that a few others took some responsibility instead of forever passing the buck.

One thing about Stearman. He was always involved today in defence and attack. Which is more than can be said for most.

What about the shot that was 99% in the back of the next in the 1st half if wasn't for a world class block?

i wouldnt go that far... and the shot itself was quite tame

His positional sense is awful. Spends more time in right mid or up front than he does at right back, leaving us massively exposed. Defending to him seems like an after thought.

Do you not think that is down to management instructions, today for example he was caught out a number of times after the 'team' lost the ball from our own corner, because he was the man at the far post on the left he had to get all the way back to the RB spot naturally enough arriving late because WBA like most teams in this division and totally unlike us actually have the ability to break swiftly from defending their corners.

Isn't Stearman only 20 :dunno:

I thought he did ok today (which shows he is improving) so I'd keep him in for a couple more games at least.

He is not improving at all.

A couple of seasons ago he was considered a world beater, since then he has gone down hill completely.

I'd love to know the reason why Stearman can no loner find a pass without hoofing the ball. Time and time again he gives away possession and when he goes forward he looks like he's going to get a nosebleed, he looks way out of his depth.

Chambers is much better going forward and better at defending, when he gets back fit he simply needs to play.

It isn't a lack of effort just a lack of brains, while he's running around like a headless chicken he's always out of position. The odd time Cort does win a header Hume's never there, making Cort look even worse.

If he did ok, then answer these.

Q.What was he doing for the first goal?

A.

Q.What did he add to the team all game?

A.

Q.Did you notice, their second goal, also came from the right?

A.

Q.Where was Stearman?

A.

How i would love to see the stats, of how many goals we have conceeded, from the right.

I would say a lot. I haven't been to any away games this season, but have been to every home game and a lot seem to have come from down the right.

Maybe Thracian can supply some proper stats.

tbh every player amkes mistakes, but just because you lot seem to have something against the stears and because someone pointed out a few mistakes everyone watches him like a hawk and picks out everything he does wrong. The Manager sees something in his appearances and performance to keep him in. IH has a far more superior knowledge of manage then any one of us. so lets trust his judgement. Stears has potential but he is a confidence player, he right now has none of it, and its not suprising the whole team is feeling down atm, 20th place in the championship, its enough to kill anyone's morale.

Stears needs some good games to up his confidence, and his ability will follow. he is still young and he has a very big potential get off the lads back. Stears has scored a goal this season and got a few assists, he pushes forward (what you wanted from your wing backs isnt it?) and he plays some good football, that one two with hume last week was immense! hes made some saving chalenges and some great blocks to prevent crosses! the problem with you lot on here you are to negative!

As a manager myself i know you have to pick out the positive and build on them. Then you pick out the neagtives and you sort them out in training. IH will do that give him time, and give Stears a chance to improve, and rise to his full potential. Hows he going to do that if he is written off for a few mistakes? and end up on the bench. Look how far sheehan has come this season and mattock, they have improved because of first team football and good training. IH will bring the best out of these players and i wish him luck.

Quit getting on pleyrs backs and start supporting your team. by all means pick out the negatives but make a balanced argument rather then just moaning. a good argument wil always have +'s and -'s then a conclusion (this is where you put your views and use the evidence that you have to prove the argument either way - or +) lets all try it?

It wasn't just one game he has been bad, it has been all season.

Instead of us getting off his back, you get your nose out his arse.

Week in week out poor performance? Will Olly Notice?

Have you?

That's the all time richest coming from someone who called Ollie a thug & said he would sell his season ticket if he was appointed !!!!

Am i right or wrong ?

where did i say anything about one game? i said mistakes!!! everyone highlites them, and watches him like a hawk.

yes he makes mistakes! and every player does, our team makes far to many of them as a whole. but he needs to play to learn, he showed his real potential uner levein and i trust IH to make stears find his confidence and get back to that potential!!

all im saying is look at the +'s and -'s. spell them both out and see which comes out on top? - or +. I agree atm he is not playing to his full potential but i also beleive that is only because of a lack of confidence which shows throughout the sqaud. And i think for him to regain that confidence and form that he had under CL then he needs match practice. and tbf we havent conceeded that many this season so i think we can afford to give him that chance. likewise with sheehan and mattock who also make mistakes, plenty of them but they also need match practice. lack of confidence and morale is showing throughout the squad atm and i think its going to take something special to make anything out this season.

I think he's awful chris brunt absolutely made him look stupid last night

I heard about that. He kept showing him onto his favourite foot didnt he? All the time?

The lad is toss. No two ways about it. He was Chris Brunt's bitch yesterday. For a lad who has made over 100 league appearences for the club and was once touted as a promising youngster it is really a slap in the face to see him go down the drain like that. He was promising when he first made his debut, whenever that was 2 or 3 years ago. But ever since it just seems like he hasn't progressed, just been at standstill. If anything, he has gone backwards and looks worse than when he first came to the scene.

Chambers (James). Darren Kenton....well actually, hes a utility man now, but yeah, he'll go there..

Kaebi.

Chambers

Kenton

Maybury...

Play Kaebi!!! ... i cant see how he can't get in the team in front of maybury and kenton! At leats give him a go before he leaves and does well at a bigger club and the club will regret not playing him!
