Super Arj Posted 8 December 2007 Posted 8 December 2007 After watchin leicester slump to another defeat.. and fall to 20th in the table, the season to be jolly has become the season to rip your season tickets in anger.. Ollie admitted on BBC that the players arent good enough and hes already planned to raid plymouth so its a question of How long can we hold out til the window opens?? What do we do with Ollie my personal opinion is that managers arent the source of our problems its the tossers who get payed to play 'football' We need to keep Ollie cuz he has good intentions for January Post your veiws
Bert Posted 8 December 2007 Posted 8 December 2007 January, hopefully, will be our christmas. I think we need, 3 or 4 more good players to make us better, but then they'll have to settle in which could take a few games. This won't be pleasent or pretty, we're just going to have to grind out reults, we've done it the pastfew seasons, no reason to see why we can't do it again.

maddog Posted 8 December 2007 Posted 8 December 2007 I think after signing 6 quality players in January and selling 12 we will finish around 14th in the table and................ Win the Fa Cup
Mr Happy Posted 8 December 2007 Posted 8 December 2007 I reckon when we have an objective our players tend to play a hell of a lot better! Why though?! Surely they shouldn't need an objective to do their frigging job! We left it too bloody well late last season and then had to mount an impressive finish to the season to keep us in the same division! Now maybe the players can take note of the fact they aren't playing anywhere near their best and will actually have to fight to keep their place in the squad, so we will have a decent december and take maximum 3points out of every game until jan transfer market opening now, as well as going onan amazing FA cup run which sees us beat Man U in the final 3-2 with Cort bagging a brace and an amazing scissor kick from N'Gotty Well a man can but dream.

I'm not sure I like you're signature. C#nt. Am I the only one who can tell the difference between effort and playing well? Cause there seem to be far too many people on here who confuse the two. In recent seasons the effort has so obviously not been apparent in certain quarters. This season IS different. Okay so the quality might not be there, but there was a side out there today that wanted to give 100% for the shirt, and that's a damn sight more then we've had in the last couple of seasons. You can fault this team for a lot of things, but effort isn't one of them.

I thought of all the players out there today Cort was by far the worst (that said they were all pretty bad). Once we were back in the game at 1-1, we had a bloody decent spell of possesion during which we could/should have scored again, if only it weren't for Cort. He just wasn't keeping up with the game. Now whether this is due to his fitness not being up to scratch or the fact hes just plain cr*p who knows? And on the subject of effort, bar Hume, the only player who in the last 3 extra minutes of time, that was actually giving anything near effort was Fulop who isn't even a full time city player (yet )
Plymouth Pete Posted 8 December 2007 Posted 8 December 2007 Forget the cup, anyone you sign will be cup tied. By the way, how did you get on today.
WetFlannel Posted 9 December 2007 Posted 9 December 2007 Forget the cup, anyone you sign will be cup tied.By the way, how did you get on today. not good im afraid, lost 2 - 1

PAULCFC Posted 9 December 2007 Posted 9 December 2007 We can't really judge olly till January, but realistically 'till the summer when we can get rid of a few hangers on whose contracts expire (rab, mark). At least ollys been honest saying that the club has been run shambolicly (sp) on the playing front.I for one have been resigned to righting this season off after getting a season ticket i couldn't really aford. If ollys still in a job at this club next season i shall get a season ticket for next season.........so in short i'm a fan of ollie and given time i think he'll get it right!
Ultra Posted 9 December 2007 Posted 9 December 2007 Holloway's still got to prove himself with us. One point from three home games isn't good enough. He's got to be VERY careful with the players he brings in. We've got enough deadwood on the books from previous managers without adding any more..

Judge Ollie after the transfer window closes and once he has added players of his choice. This season is dead. We will not make the play offs and we will not go down.
FilboFox Posted 9 December 2007 Posted 9 December 2007 I think that next year, as I've already said, will be a big year for us. Changes will be made to the playing staff and things will start to pick up. I STILL hold out hope that we can make the play-offs... we aren't THAT far behind them... but things will need to start getting better.
Plymouth Pete Posted 9 December 2007 Posted 9 December 2007 just to spell it out for you, the cup comment was tongue in cheek. No, Really?

Depends what we want to achieve really I suppose. For a top half finish this season I'd say we need a few more than 3 or 4. The squad just simply isn't good enough to get anywhere. I know we can't have a squad like West Brom but when you look at the strength in depth they had yesterday, just shows how big the gulf is between a good side in this league and a bad side.

I may be wrong, I hope i'm wrong but it'll just be false hope again At the start of the season, I had play-offs at the back of my head but was really focusing on improvement, improvement to me would be a top 10 finish, we may still do that, we still have January to bring players in but there needs to be a dramatic change for us to see an improvement for this season. Anyway we all went into this season all happy, all seeing a new era, new owner, new manager, new players, new hope, we were all like little children on christmas eve, excited for the new season ahead...False hope again
DB11 Posted 9 December 2007 Posted 9 December 2007 What do you mean forget Christmas?!? I want my PS3! Oh... in footballing terms. Yeah we do need some new signings
