Ultra Posted 10 December 2007 Posted 10 December 2007 N'Gotty at right-back? What is with you folk and our centre-backs?N'Gotty's like one of those old roadgoing steam tractors. You'll need a water tank with a big tube on the sidelines to quench his thirst. The bloke is great. Like a one-man Roman defensive square. Even glue would bounce off him. But if he was a horse he'd be a shire horse not a racehose. He belongs in the Bass Museum not charging around like a contestant in the Epsom Derby. Show some mercy. He needs to be in the middle attracting the ball like a giant radar dish and rolling it out to his bewildered midfielders. I know Stearman's suddenly become as popular as a Leicester version of Hannibal Lecter now Chambers is fit but replacing him with N'Gotty shows the sort of hatred the Sudanese show for harmless women teachers. What do you reckon? Two hundred lashes for Stearman as well? Can't imagine what you'd to the lad if we actually started shipping goals at the rate of other teams. But N'Gotty played right-back in the Watford game and we didn't do too badly in that!
Staf Posted 10 December 2007 Posted 10 December 2007 I thought we had 3 new signings literally but i think it is good that we have got them back lets hope Alex Bruce is still out for them because he is a good defender and i think they will miss him
Joe. Posted 10 December 2007 Posted 10 December 2007 Fulop N'Gotty McAuley Kisnorbo Sheehan Hume Clemence King Hayes Fryatt Campbell
Staf Posted 10 December 2007 Posted 10 December 2007 Ipswich v Leicester City Ipswich manager Jim Magilton is waiting on the fitness of striker Alan Lee (eye) and midfielder Gavin Williams (toe) ahead of the game with Leicester. Defender Alex Bruce is definitely out with a groin injury so Fabian Wilnis will continue to deputise at the back. Leicester boss Ian Holloway is boosted by the return of strike trio Matty Fryatt (ban), Collins John (hamstring) and DJ Campbell (knee) to the squad. However, midfielder James Wesolowski misses out with a hamstring problem.
Simi Posted 10 December 2007 Posted 10 December 2007 FulopN'Gotty McAuley Kisnorbo Sheehan Hume Clemence King Hayes Fryatt Campbell I'd be happy to see that. Actually has some decent attacking outlet. Much more than we've had over the past couple of weeks. Sheehans set pieces away from home are absolutely critical I feel.
Joe. Posted 10 December 2007 Posted 10 December 2007 I'd be happy to see that. Actually has some decent attacking outlet. Much more than we've had over the past couple of weeks. Sheehans set pieces away from home are absolutely critical I feel. That's why I opted for him instead of Mattock. With Hayes in the side, Mattock wouldn't need to attack as much as he did against West Brom where he was often on his own. I'd rather have Sheehan in than Mattock because of his set-pieces.
Thracian Posted 10 December 2007 Posted 10 December 2007 But N'Gotty played right-back in the Watford game and we didn't do too badly in that! You're right, But he's been sat behind the manager since the middle of November. Arthritis could have set in by now at his age.

With Hayes in the side, Mattock wouldn't need to attack as much as he did against West Brom where he was often on his own. I'd rather have Sheehan in than Mattock because of his set-pieces. Just a shame that our only attacking threats from the wide set pieces would be our two centre backs! But he's defiantly worth a couple of goals a season with that left foot and away from home that can occasionally be a savior.
Koke Posted 10 December 2007 Posted 10 December 2007 I want N'Gotty at centre back and McAuley to make way for him. I have nothing against McAuley but I think we need at least one of the two CB's who can pass a ball 10 yards. And since Kisnorbo is a better defender McAuley, then sorry Gareth you have to make way for Bruno. I don't know about the fitness of James Chambers and I hear Darren Kenton has injured himself in training, so in theory we are left with our lost son Stearman at RB. So I'll got for this Fulop Stearman - N'Gotty - Kisnorbo - SheehanHume - Clemence - King - Hayes Dudley - Fryatt

Rodders Posted 10 December 2007 Posted 10 December 2007 Assuming Holloway's gonna get all experimental on us again: Fulop Kisnorbo N'Gotty McAuley Chambers----Clemence--King----Sheehan Hume------Fryatt Cort Subs: Whoever's left Seriously, I'd give this a try. I reckon it's the best players in their best positions. Fulop - obviously The three centrebacks who did so well under Megson, with N'Gotty taking charge of distribution when possible Natural wide players on either side of an industrious engine room. Sheehan for his set pieces Hume and Fryatt playing just behind Cort in a triangular strikeforce, ready to run onto knockdowns.

Despite these wonderful arguments I would opt for: Fulop N'Gotty - McAuley - Kisnorbo - MattockHume - Clemence - King - SheehanFryatt - DJSubs: Henderson, Stearman, Hayes, John & Cort
General Smuts Posted 10 December 2007 Posted 10 December 2007 good, I've been saying to clone him for a while! Well if were cloning players!! Fulop Kaebi Heskey Heskey Sheehan Kaebi Birchenall Samuels Ferriera Sappleton Sapplezilla Subs Sappletiser Fulop Djeziri Chuck Norris Kaebi
Thracian Posted 10 December 2007 Posted 10 December 2007 I certainly wouldn't put James Chambers straight back in the side after a prolonged injury. So, bearing in mind Kenton's injury: Fulop, Stearman, McAuley, Kisnorbo, Mattock, King, N'Gotty, Sheehan, Hume Cort, Hayes. Subs: Maybury, J Chambers, A Chambers, Fryatt, Campbell.

Subs: Maybury, J Chambers, A Chambers, Fryatt, Campbell. Sorry Thrac but that's an insane line-up. Why not go for the normal 4-4-2. Two of Sheehan, Mattock and Hayes on he left. Hume on the right. King and Clemence in the middle, with Fryatt and Dudley up front. And at the back Stearman at the right, N'Gotty and Kisnorbo as CB's.
gosfox Posted 10 December 2007 Posted 10 December 2007 Sorry...I cant remember.....but has NGotty actually played yet with Ollie at the helm? He seems very reluctant to pick him for some reason
Koke Posted 10 December 2007 Posted 10 December 2007 Sorry...I cant remember.....but has NGotty actually played yet with Ollie at the helm? He seems very reluctant to pick him for some reason No he hasn't. It has been McAuley-Kisnorbo ever since Ollie took over. Despite their quality tackles, blocks, game reading etc Neither of them can pass a ball ten yards to a blue shirt even if their dear old mum's lives depended on it.
RowlattsFox Posted 10 December 2007 Posted 10 December 2007 I can't recall N'Gotty's passing being much better to be fair, I would put him alongside Kisnorbo though.
gosfox Posted 10 December 2007 Posted 10 December 2007 I can't recall N'Gotty's passing being much better to be fair, I would put him alongside Kisnorbo though. Is it any coincidence that our defence has looked decidedly more brittle and at sixs and sevens since Ollie arrived and NGotty stopped getting picked???
Koke Posted 10 December 2007 Posted 10 December 2007 I can't recall N'Gotty's passing being much better to be fair, I would put him alongside Kisnorbo though. I disagree. Kisnorbo's passing are atrocious. McAuley didn't used to be this bad but I think he got the Kisnorbo syndrome. In fairness to them both, our midfield doesn't exactly make life easier for them either. There are next to nothing movement from our men in the middle so they end up hoofing it to 5 foot 7 Ian Hume.
