he got himself into some great positions today but his finishing was poor.

Lazy doesn't want to win the ball ever.

That's completely wrong though... Several times, especially in the first half, he chased lost causes and put pressure on their centerbacks and keeper. Only Chambers managed to do that too as Hume and Fryatt were miles off most of the time...

Strikers are there to score goals and make chances not track back and win the ball all game long. He got 2 great chances today because he stayed up top. The reason we don't score as many is because Hume and Fryatt are so deep alot of the time.

I don't know how you can say that pal he was so lazy and yes he does stay up top but thats literally all he does.

But what else can he do? He's up front on his own and running like a madman after a lost cause is a waste of energy! After their equaliser, he dropped a bit deeper and didn't do much good, but I'll put it down to poor match fitness. He ran his socks off first half! I'm not sure what more you can ask of the guy (other than burying those chances!)...

Van nistlerooy has proved you dont need to run alot but still be a constant goal scorer... Collins John is a premiership player really but he should breeze this league, well should anyway... good start so far

Could of won us the game today but two poor finishes i dont think he is premiership striker

Just seen his two chances on the championship,I suppose he could of done better, but I dont think they were"my granny could of scored them" chances because the keeper was well positioned in the first and he shot to early in the second. He gets in good positions so he will always be a threat to the opposition.

There is a reason why Fulham have bought Healy and Kamara amongst others and not played John and its because he is a decent player but doesn't take his chances. He would score 15-20 goals at this level, that I have no doubt as he gets in the positions and is quite clever in using his physique but he isn't the best finisher in the world but for this level, with some decent wide midfielders he could have a field day, especially once he is fully fit.

No excuses for missing those chances in my opinion. Two of the best chances we've created all season and he fluffed them. Yes he was in the right position, controlled the ball well, held off the defender etc - but his job is to put it in the back of the net. Which he failed.

I'm not writing him off yet but he's a bit injury prone for my liking. I'll give him a couple of more games to convince me but if he keeps missing chances like that he may as well go back to Fulham.

Even the best strikers in the world miss from close in. Im not saying he is the next Van Basten or anything but IMO if fit, he is better than Hume, Fryatt or any of the other strikers we have on our books.

I quite like Collins John. He's actually a decent player.

You've been reading too many Manwell Pablo youtube Fryatt & Hume posts.

John is Sh*te, he is not fit, a fully fit and "sharp" player would of had 2 goals at Wolves,Or maybe I am wrong and he is fully fit and is as sharp as he's gonna get, this would make him a double Sh*te striker who carn't finish.....Either way SEND HIM BACK!!! ;)

He's not going to get very far if he keeps falling over everytime someone breaths on him - that rolling around clutching his head after Stearman grazed him was pathetic...the Physio should have come on the field to give him a bollocking.

He may be the most talented forward at the club but at the moment he's nothing more than a big girl's blouse.

Get out! Stearman full on chinned him with his elbow!

I'm guessing that you are considerably younger than me - I remember players getting up and playing on after knocks like that simply because they feared the manager or believed in the shirt.

Unless the ****er was out cold or concussed then there was no reason for him not to get up and get on with it.

I blame Primary Schools handing out "I Banged My Head Today" stickers to children.;)

Yes, I probably am, but when you get hit on the nose like that,it is quite painful!

But yes, they are all girls nowadays,we know that already!

As for the bit i highlighted, please do tell me that is not true :dunno:

Knew it wouldn't take long ! Here's a good idea, lets boo the bloke, that'll make him play better.

lol I know how you feel. Lets right him off because he has missed 2 chances when not even fully fit. Some of our fans are bonkers.

Anyone who was there yesterday could see how shite he is.

I doubt from the TV cameras you armchair fans could see that he was offside ALL THE FCKING TIME! How hard is it to stay onside for gods sake!

I reckon he needs regular first team football to recover his zest/ fitness/ sharpness back..

He is obviously talented and as this season seems to of gone down the pan for us ( wont get promoted) then why not keep him in the side and get that improvement out of him.. I would say that by the end of next season he will sharper than a two edged sword.

Oh, right. Let's boo him until he's good then.

During my time as an LCFC fan, which spans some 40 years, I've seen loads of strikers who struggled to stay on side. What doesn't help Collins John is that he is returning from injury, isn't 100% match fit and has not played much football for quite a long time whilst sat on his backside at Fulham. Nevertheless I do recognise that as Carl Cort has gone and De Vries is currently unavailable to be barracked, a new target is needed and courtesy of two missed chances and being offside - Collins John, you are it.

Cut the guy some slack, get him fit and match ready and he will be a bloody nuisance in this league.

I'm sorry but it doesn't take a fcking genius to stay onside and put a bit of effort in. Sure booing him is not going to improve him, I just fail to see his "natural talent". If you want to give him football to improve his fitness get him in the reserves.

He was awfull yesterday, I'm hoping praying we see an improvment in him soon as we don't have any other target men.

OK he was awful and yeah we do need a target man to perform and reality is that an unfit (ish) Collins John is all we have at the moment so reserves football is not really an option. The problem is as much with our midfield creating nothing, not making passes for forwards to run on to and making it so difficult for them to time runs when they don't get the ball early enough. If you think about it Fryatt is often offside with what looks like minimal effort to stay onside but hey du du du du Matty Fryatt sing the hordes.

I'm just saying let's give the guy a proper run in the team and see what happens......and in a team that turns the corner and plays with some degree of confidence I am pretty sure Collins John would be a real handful in this league
