Blackburn`s Savage a Rams target?

138_b.jpg

Reports in the press this week has the Rams linked with a move for Blackburn Rovers controversial midfielder Robbie Savage. The former Crewe, Leicester City and Birmingham player looks like his time at Ewood Park is over and a number of clubs are tracking the situation including the Rams

Savage is said to be unsettled with not getting regular football and Rams boss Paul Jewell - who was keen to sign him when he was boss at Wigan - is keen on bringing him to Pride Park. Other clubs interested in Savage are Wigan, Sunderland.

Rovers` manager Mark Hughes will be unwilling to do business for the Welshman as he tries to keep the current squad together until the summer at least, but that may not stop bids coming in.

The 33-year-old was unhappy about not walking straight back into the Rovers first team earlier this month after recovering from a knee injury, however he has been back in the starting line up for Blackburn's last two games.

Blackburn manager, Mark Hughes, said: "Sav is not happy when he`s not playing but he`s playing so I`m sure he`s happy."

Rams boss Jewell has made it clear where he stands on transfer speculation, he said: "We have already been linked with a couple of players. I'm not saying they aren't good players but I've certainly not spoken to anyone about them, and I will not comment on speculation,' added the Rams boss

I heard Sunderland was the most likely destination this morning.

Doubt he'd go to Derby to be honest. Not too sure how long he has left on his contract though saying that...

Anyone remember when he ran into the box against Derby (cant remember the year)and went down and won a penalty and then proceeded to cheer and jump up and down. Then all the Derby players ran over to him having a go! haha lol

If he goes to Shame Park, it'll be for the money, simple as!

Then when they go down, he'll be off chasing one last payday..

Derby fans still hate him for that and a lot are unhappy at him signing, or going to sign.

Don't be silly, they'll tie him down to a 2/3 year contract and make it perfectly clear that they will probabley be relegated and wont be selling him in the summer unless its a good deal for Derby.

Shame Park?

Good one Ultra.

When you're in our position, do you not think that mocking those in the Premiership is a little rich?

Personally, I think we should keep a low profile and pray this awful period passes. Not you though eh, childish digs here and there!
