Unabomber Posted 28 December 2007 Posted 28 December 2007 "Leicester boss Ian Holloway is ready to make a £1million bid for Nottingham Forest winger Kris Commons" It's towards the middle underneath the Daily Star part. What would you think to him, I know there was talk of him going to Bolton, but I think he would be great at Leicester. Who Knows. Link
Simi Posted 28 December 2007 Posted 28 December 2007 Would like to see him here. Played well against us this year. Speaking to my Uncle, he says theres a lot of problems going on at Forest.

That's just reminded me. Sheffield Weds have been having problems and may be forced to sell Glenn Whelan. I think we were linked to him in the summer.
WetFlannel Posted 28 December 2007 Posted 28 December 2007 He would be great but i thought he was reluctant to come to us in the summer due to his forest background
Maybes Posted 28 December 2007 Posted 28 December 2007 We always get linked with him. Lazy journalism.
SamL Posted 28 December 2007 Posted 28 December 2007 He'd be a great asset. Would solve our left sided problem but I get the impression he's lazy. If he bucks up his ideas, increases his fitness then he'd be a great addition.

Can't see this happening and 1m is a lot for him. Skilful player but at what level? maybe worth a go at 250k.

WetFlannel Posted 28 December 2007 Posted 28 December 2007 I mean money wise. yet they still wanted a new stadium developed...
Koke Posted 28 December 2007 Posted 28 December 2007 Good player when he wants to be but 1 million quid is a bit over the top if you ask me.
reynard Posted 28 December 2007 Posted 28 December 2007 I mean money wise. Then it's worth putting in an offer but 1m still seems a lot to me. That's just reminded me. Head Honcho Posted 28 December 2007 Posted 28 December 2007 Could do well for us but unfortunately due to his Forest connection It'll only take a couple of average games from him to have the hoards on his back and there's no going back then so imo it's better we look elsewhere.

Sadly for him and for us that is close to the truth.
dandannieldanok Posted 28 December 2007 Posted 28 December 2007 Good player, overblown price but we have to resign ourselves to paying over the odds this January, it's inevitable.

Maybe true but I don't think we should let the pricks that boo players after a couple of dodgy performaces prevent us from buying a player if Holloway thinks he's good quality. Why should the 'boo boys' win?! I have personally told 'fans' in the seats around me who never sing but boo players at the very first opportunity exactly what I think of them, if others did the same maybe we wouldn't have such a problem.
i luv u foxes Posted 29 December 2007 Posted 29 December 2007 would make a great signing my friend who goes up forest every week says forest would not go up to the championship without him would be a great assest
Zingari Posted 29 December 2007 Posted 29 December 2007 would make a great signing my friend who goes up forest every week says forest would not go up to the championship without himwould be a great assest that would make him a good buy even if we didn't play him
Sly Posted 29 December 2007 Posted 29 December 2007 Commons would be a good addition to the squad. He's not exactly in top shape and he's playing well, he can lazy but he stills seems to come up with moments of genius. Imagine if you could get him in shape and focused on his game. Now just to do that with the rest of our squad and we'll be okay.
Staf Posted 29 December 2007 Posted 29 December 2007 Good player but he has been linked with Wigan as well

I'm not sure that's the case personally (but maybe I'm wrong), he looks stocky but it doesn't seem to hinder him much, also look at Andy Reid, same shape but still an excellent Championship footballer.

You've got a valid point. I retract my comment! I suppose you can throw a few more people into that equation as well, Rooney, Trundle and even Paul Robinson!
Joe. Posted 30 December 2007 Posted 30 December 2007 I'd like to see him here definitely. There's no doubt in my mind he can hack it in the Championship, and he looked strong against us when we played Forest. Just what we're looking for I think.
