Who to sell

Calling him a regular international is labouring a point which is hardly relevant anyway.

Up until a year or so ago he was playing league one football and other than his threat from set pieces, he hardly stood out there.

He's over-rated here.

I appreciate your point Ultra but to be honest, both those players are better than McAuley.

This ain't no witch hunt and I'm starting to feel a bit guilty for the stick I'm giving him but I guarantee to you that we will not be paid £1million for McAuley.

I'd argue that point.

i) It was League Two

ii) He did stand out there

BAM, HAVE THAT!

I wouldn't have believed we'd get £650k for McCarthy, but we did!

I'm sure if someone posted a clip on YouTube of McAuley's performances against Spain, Sweden and Denmark (plus his goal against Chelsea), it would arouse interest and maybe make him look a better player than he actually is.

There are a few clubs in the lower reaches of the Premier League with money to burn who may just be tempted to make a bid.

It's unlikely that such a bid would reach £1m, but not impossible.

Nonsense. He's a slow 27-year-old Championship centre back and he's never even proven he can be part of a decent team at this level let alone any Premiership one.

Let's face facts, only one or two of our players might attract Premiership interest and even then, it'd be hopelessly misguided.

If Holloway/Milan can talk McAuley up to £1million, they deserve a medal each.

How many £1million+ defenders do you see in the premiership who can't pass a football or run at a decent pace?

Even Titus Bramble at least has a bit of pace, and he's a liability.

I can't believe we're discussing this. I mean, really, McAuley? £1million?

If anyone offers anything like £500k for any of our defenders I'd be inclined to take the money.

The only way I see McAuley going for more than half a million is if a club in this division with cash to chuck about decide they want him. Since he apparantly had a shocker at QPR yesterday, I don't see who else would want him?

Premiership isn't gonna happen.

Apart from Kisnorbo, there seems to be some sort myth about him being good enough to play in the Premier League.

Point taken - he's not worth it though.

Scoring from the occasional set piece doesn't excuse being fairly poor at the back.

He's the best of the bunch though and I suppose worth keeping hold of.

lol to be fair to the bloke I wouldn't say he was poor at the back, he can actually be quite solid he just can't pass for shit.

You're right. I'm just angry.

Leicester fans are idiots.

Stearman - £2million!!!!!!

McAuley - ACE - £1million.

Fu ck off.

We are Leicester City - only we pay big money for sh it players and we can't buy them from ourselves.

Until Peter Taylor/Craig Levein is handed another wad of cash we're stick with this useless barrel of cun twipes.

Personally, I'd keep Fryatt.

How much money would the likes of Dodds and Gradel raise if they were to go?

Dodds is out of contract at the end of the year and he's on a year long loan. Basically, unless he make a genuine offer to keep him, he can walk for nothing and we get a small amount as compensation. We have to make him an equal offer to get the compo though.

Gradel - not sure - not a lot though.

Dodds'll fetch something like £10 million, I imagine, though we should be looking for a sell-on clause on top of that for when he inevitably moves to the continent.

He's the most natural finisher at errm Lincoln now, so you're right, somewhere between 8 and 12 million.

You obviously haven't factored in Algerian under-20 star Hamza Bencherif.

Sorry - I get my statistics from Thracian and he doesn't view sordids or foreigners as real people.

A bit heavy on the Hyperbole...

...But only a bit. The man has a point. None of our players should be considered exempt from consideration for being sold. If we can bring better people in by selling then we should bloody well do so.

Totally agree, no one should be immune from being sold. No one has really earned the shirt as far as I am concerned.

p.s. new to this forum malarky, but some excellent threads knocking about!

Flog everyone bar Kisnorbo, Wesolowski, Hume, Clemence and McAuley.

I don't believe what i'm hearing?! No N'Gotty?? This guy has been (arguably) our best signing of the summer and we must surely keep him!

sell the lot especially mattock, the guy cant defend and i aint seen him beat his man once without falling over the ball. I think we need a different approach altogether we need footballers who can pass and trap a ball, there aint many who can pass and move in our team without giving the ball away. if there is we aint seen it at all this season.

Mattock is still very young and can improve his game greatly. It'd be very stupid to get rid of him unless it was silly money involved.
