Super Arj Posted 2 January 2008 Posted 2 January 2008 who else agrees with me he is absolutley fukin useless.. and im not one of those fans who bitches about everyone if City lose.. i just think he hasn't done anything good all season..... £1.5 million - wtf he keeps saying that the team have learnt a lesson and that we are looking to improve after every game.. well our players aren't a clever bunch because were 21st in the league my opinion , sell him off and buy a whole new set of midfielders
Stuliasz Posted 2 January 2008 Posted 2 January 2008 He signed for 750k rising to £1m. Get your facts straight before you rant.
dandannieldanok Posted 2 January 2008 Posted 2 January 2008 He hasn't lived up to expectations but I wouldn't say he was "fukin useless".

Joe. Posted 2 January 2008 Posted 2 January 2008 Right for a start, £1.5 million? More like £1 million. Secondly, Clemence is not a waste of money. On his day he can be fantastic and an important player for us. Ok he's not been great but we all know he can do it. He's been playing in a midfield this season which has been makeshift and shifted around to say the least. Once we get some better players in and a more settled team we'll see the best of him.
Daz.I Posted 2 January 2008 Posted 2 January 2008 Can't believe out of all our midfielders you can sit there and slag clem off, we have a loada shit and you choose him outa the lot. He'll have a lot more good games than bad The man is a leader and a real motivator for the rest of the players.
Durnerz Posted 2 January 2008 Posted 2 January 2008 IMO hes being asked to do a job that his style doesnt allow, hes not the kind of attacking midfielder everyone wants him to be, just because he wears the number 6 and has dark hair does not make him the next Muzzy Izzet, once we get an attack minded central midfield player in alongside Clem then we will see the best of him.

Still a waste of money though. He's just a posh Stephen Hughes. Slow, wastes the ball, gets caught in posession and doesn't seem to be much of an inspirational captain either as we only seem to win points when we score first.

You're wasting your effort.
Babylon Posted 2 January 2008 Posted 2 January 2008 Chosen Man like Fryatt. You're wasting your effort. Come off it... who else do you expect to play in midfield, he is the only one fit most of the time!!! Fryatt is different as we have other options.
Jack Posted 2 January 2008 Posted 2 January 2008 Clemence is being asked to do a difficult job, his centre midfield partner is N'gotty, a centre back. I agree he's not lived up to expectations but I think you should be slagging other players off before you start on Clem, we have a lot worse.

whitlock Posted 2 January 2008 Posted 2 January 2008 the best we got midfielder-wise at the club at the minute. Quite like the geezer tbh, he cant help what price tag he has above his head can he ???
Tevez Posted 2 January 2008 Posted 2 January 2008 Clemence just having a bad patch at the moment. But i'm sure he'll come back from it.
Fox You Forest Posted 2 January 2008 Posted 2 January 2008 the best we got midfielder-wise at the club at the minute. Quite like the geezer tbh, he cant help what price tag he has above his head can he ??? He's being carried by two defenders in midfield, says it all for me. Also whitlock loves candyfloss ( the pink variety )

Bullshit he's not a leader or a motivator. Hes a tosser
Jack Posted 2 January 2008 Posted 2 January 2008 Clemence just having a bad patch at the moment. But i'm sure he'll come back from it. I agree Mate. I also think we bring in a few midfielders that are actually natural midfielders, rather than playing people out of position and we will get the best out of him.

Look at the players around him. A player is only as good as his team-mates.
Thracian Posted 2 January 2008 Posted 2 January 2008 Come off it... who else do you expect to play in midfield, he is the only one fit most of the time!!! Fryatt is different as we have other options. He'd get picked, and he has been picked whoever has been fit and no matter how well or how badly he's played. Just out of curiosity how many decent games do you think he's had so far?
maddog Posted 2 January 2008 Posted 2 January 2008 lol Put Gerrard in our midfield and he'd look shit. Look at the players around him. A player is only as good as his team-mates. A strange one there Rev. So Tevez was only as good as his West Ham team mates? Jones is only as good as his Sunderland team mates McShane Sorry i just love criticising others posts because people criticise mine, makes me feel a bit better.

Thats ok - just think about it a bit more next time. The point i was making, was if you put him in a team with 10 other solid players i.e Birmingham, he'll excel. And have a word with yourself. You're comparing Carlos Tevez to Stephen Clemence here.
Wasyls Pec Deck Posted 2 January 2008 Posted 2 January 2008 lol Put Gerrard in our midfield and he'd look shit. Look at the players around him. A player is only as good as his team-mates. spot on. What a stupid thread. He's one of the top players at the club (admittedly not hard at this moment). He'd compliment some creativity very well in my opinion, our team hasnt had that therefore we haven't seen the best of him. Whether Kavanagh can get that out of him though...... the merc says he could feature at Southampton...

He's been playing in a central midfield this season consisting of: Weso. A natural defensive midfielder. Kenton. A right back or centre back. N'Gotty. A centre back. Chambers. A wing back. King. A natural midfielder but only played a handful of games. As for the rest of the midfield: Hume. A striker. Sheehan (at times). A left back. Newton. Newton. Hayes. Natural winger but can't hold down a place. How can he be expected to perform well around this lot?
