Webbo Posted 2 January 2008 Posted 2 January 2008 I have three nominations: Buddy Rich Animal (aka Frank Oz) Keith Moon Have you forgotten about
AoWW Posted 2 January 2008 Posted 2 January 2008 Neil Peart - Rush (not a huge fan of the band, but an amazing drummer); Mike Portnoy - Dream Theater; Mick Fleetwood. Gotta mention Phil Collins too, I guess.
Trumpet Posted 2 January 2008 Posted 2 January 2008 Get ready for a nomination of that arctic Monkeys drummer. Get off the band wagon!
Finchy Posted 2 January 2008 Posted 2 January 2008 Travis Barker is a pretty immense drummer. Travis Barker isn't fit to polish Keith Moon's cow bell. Keith Moon all the way. Or perhaps this geeza http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=J6T4OwacRL0
Darkzzz_ Posted 2 January 2008 Posted 2 January 2008 Errr... Bernard Matthews is the best drummer!! dum dum dum!!
Simon Posted 3 January 2008 Posted 3 January 2008 Neil Peart - Rush (not a huge fan of the band, but an amazing drummer); Mike Portnoy - Dream Theater; Mick Fleetwood.Gotta mention Phil Collins too, I guess. Mike Portnoy has this nailed on IMO! And Phil Collins is a given. Also really rate Casey Grillo of Kamelot and Chad Gracey of Live (before they became largely anodyne- some of the drumming on Throwing Copper and the Distance to Here is immense- it's often not in your face, some of it is really subtle, but I guy's playing is immense.) And for whoever knocked Travis Barker's credential's; I think he is actually a pretty damn good drummer... I was a bit meh for Blink and I couldn't even tell you the name of the new band he's in, but I think the guy has a huge amount of talent.

Well i never said he didn't have a lot of talent, in fact he was one of the drummers that inspired me to start playing, however we are talking about the best drummer ever here! And the best drummer ever is definitely not Travis Barker.

Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 3 January 2008 Posted 3 January 2008 Joey Jordison (Even if Slipknot aren't my bag)...
Simon Posted 3 January 2008 Posted 3 January 2008 Joey Jordison (Even if Slipknot aren't my bag)... A bit bass happy for my liking- I prefer a bit more subtlety and variety personally...
Mickey O'Neil Posted 4 January 2008 Posted 4 January 2008 Anyone know how much drum lessons are at that place at the back of Abbey St?
Finchy Posted 4 January 2008 Posted 4 January 2008 Anyone know how much drum lessons are at that place at the back of Abbey St? The Drum Academy right? Well when i went it was £12 for an hour, but that was about 3 years ago now so no doubt they would have gone up a bit, but they are brilliant teachers.
AoWW Posted 4 January 2008 Posted 4 January 2008 Lee Jobber? If only a sense of rhythm wasn't a fairly key component, eh?!
Guest Posted 4 January 2008 Posted 4 January 2008 Personally I'd go for either Jimmy Chamberlain or John Bonham
Head Honcho Posted 4 January 2008 Posted 4 January 2008 Tamás Erdélyi AKA Tommy Ramone and Topper Headon
