Jimmy Posted 13 October 2008 Posted 13 October 2008 Well if the team is backing one driver (a rookie) and not the other (who in this case happened to be DOUBLE world champion), you can't blame Alonso feeling a bit miffed. A total lack of respect towards a defending world champion. Besides, why would he otherwise be so bitter now that LH's not his teammate anymore? how were they backing 1 and not the other, back in 1999 David Coulthard was given equal backing even though Mika Haikenen had just won the championship, McLaren have always operated a system where BOTH drivers are considered no1 probably to the detriment of the team at times Alonso turned up expected to have his every whim granted and was told "if he is quick enough to beat you then we won't tell him to move over" and he threw his toys out of the pram, Alonso is the poster boy for Spoilt Brat Syndrome

Brainy Posted 17 October 2008 Author Posted 17 October 2008 Hamilton dominated both sessions today by a few tenths.
isaidno Posted 17 October 2008 Posted 17 October 2008 Hamiltons got to beat Massa this weekend because Massa will be strong in Brazil. I think Ferrari will fuel Raikkonen lightly to try and delay Hamilton.
The Stig Posted 17 October 2008 Posted 17 October 2008 Hamiltons got to beat Massa this weekend because Massa will be strong in Brazil. I think Ferrari will fuel Raikkonen lightly to try and delay Hamilton. I think Massa will be strong in both, it will be tough for Lewis and IF Massa drives to his full potential Lewis will be up against it.
Brainy Posted 18 October 2008 Author Posted 18 October 2008 I had a feeling Hamilton wouldnt win after getting pole in Hungary. I had a feeling Hamilton wouldn't win last week. This weekend I have a sneaky feeling he'll wrap up the title. Special thanks to Fernando Alonso, Flavio Briatore, Felipe Massa, Kimi Raikkonen, and everybody else to have criticised him in the past week.

isaidno Posted 18 October 2008 Posted 18 October 2008 Nice morning of motorsport. Moto Gp from Malaysia at 7am then F1 from China at 8am I'm expecting fireworks at the start with the 2 Ferraris and Alonso behind Hamilton.
lildave3 Posted 19 October 2008 Posted 19 October 2008 Not e very entertaining race really, but at least Hamilton won. Just a 5th place needed now
JakeShingler Posted 19 October 2008 Posted 19 October 2008 Not e very entertaining race really, but at least Hamilton won. Just a 5th place needed now Come on Lewis.
SamL Posted 19 October 2008 Posted 19 October 2008 Hamilton dominated both sessions today by a few tenths. He's just dominated the race as well. Providing he doesn't mess up in Brazil again, the title is his.
JakeShingler Posted 19 October 2008 Posted 19 October 2008 He's just dominated the race as well. Providing he doesn't mess up in Brazil again, the title is his. He will not win in Brazil thats Massas race. Where did Massa finish today?

Jimmy Posted 19 October 2008 Posted 19 October 2008 ValenciaChina Spain Bahrain France Guess what that list represents. boring races with little overtaking by any chance
Legend_in_blue Posted 19 October 2008 Posted 19 October 2008 Good win for Lewis. But I'm sure the racing stewards are analysing the race data and video feeds by each tenth of a second on each and every lap to look for some sort of excuse to penalise him. My hunch is that they were asleep during today's first lap incident. So barging into the side of someone (Bourdais on Trulli) and taking them out does not constitute a penalty of any kind and yet not taking anyone out but ruining your own chances (Lewis last week) does. Obviously. Consistency people. There isn't any clearly.
Munzie Posted 19 October 2008 Posted 19 October 2008 Although it's a good lead going to Brazil, I'm as nervous for Lewis now as I was before the start of this morning's race! Brazil is Massa territory. Ferrari will go all out for this and Raikkonen, I suspect, will have a big part to play (potentially that of a villan). Hamilton will be exposed as I don't think he has a teamate capable of watching his back as closely as the partnership between the Ferrari's. That said, if he's going to take the title, he'll have to do it the right way - on his own! Good luck Lewis, and well done for today.
Wycombe Fox Posted 19 October 2008 Posted 19 October 2008 "I was strong enough to catch and pass Raikkonen and that was the best part of the race for me - but it was not enough." Yeah right, Felipe. Raikkonen didn't lift off at all did he. You were faster than him all weekend.
isaidno Posted 19 October 2008 Posted 19 October 2008 A dominant performance by Hamilton , he should play safe in Brazil and finish a comfortable 3rd behind the Ferrari's
lildave3 Posted 19 October 2008 Posted 19 October 2008 Does anyone else think Kovalainen is practically useless? Not been impressed by him at all this season.
Brainy Posted 19 October 2008 Author Posted 19 October 2008 He's been quite unlucky really, i'd give him another season and see who's available at the end of that.
Wycombe Fox Posted 19 October 2008 Posted 19 October 2008 Does anyone else think Kovalainen is practically useless? Not been impressed by him at all this season. I'd like to be proved wrong but I can't see him helping LH at all in Brazil. Ideally he needs to put in a strong Q3 performance and start second behind LH so that he can be 'rear gunner'. HK has 'gone missing' too often this season. HK out, Button in. Button's in danger of missing the boat as far as a decent drive is concerned. Apart from cash (and a contract) is there any other reason to persist with Honda? Brazil will be LH's second race on the same engine. Both Ferrari's get a new engine. Does anyone know whether HK gets a new engine for Brazil?
