Lovejoy Posted 20 October 2008 Posted 20 October 2008 Hamilton can't cock it up again can he  ?
isaidno Posted 20 October 2008 Posted 20 October 2008 The driver line ups won't change much next year. Ferrari,BMW, Williams, & Toyota have announced unchanged line ups. Theres a rumour going roung that Force India will run Mercedes engines next season.
Brainy Posted 20 October 2008 Author Posted 20 October 2008 ...and the overrated Sutil may lose his seat for next season.
lildave3 Posted 20 October 2008 Posted 20 October 2008 ...and the overrated Sutil may lose his seat for next season. Thought they'd announced they were keeping their drivers?
Brainy Posted 20 October 2008 Author Posted 20 October 2008 They did but there was a rumour on autosport, or whatever that box is on the batracer homepage saying that he could lose his seat to "Di someone" He's only finished 6/17 races this season, he's the reason you have about -50 in the F1 fantasy league is anybody actually looks at the results.
isaidno Posted 20 October 2008 Posted 20 October 2008 Paul Di Resta, he's Scottish. Part of a similar Mclaren program to what Hamilton went through. He's racing in DTM at the moment

No I haven't been looking at the results, but I knew he'd retired from just about every race.
Fox You Forest Posted 20 October 2008 Posted 20 October 2008 I look but Nakajima isn't worth the effort. <_<
Tilley Posted 20 October 2008 Posted 20 October 2008 Hamilton can't cock it up again can he  ? Probably will to be honest. Hope he doesn't though.
dandannieldanok Posted 20 October 2008 Posted 20 October 2008 Hamilton can't cock it up again can he  ? Let's hope not but I wouldn't put it past him. Surely Ron Dennis and everyone at McLaren just needs to sit him down and drill into him that all he needs is 5th place and not to squabble with the Ferrari's over a race victory. It sounds strange but it might well be advantage to Hamilton if he qualified behind both Ferrari's and just let them control the front of the race. He and his car are more than quick enough to keep above 5th if this happens.

Brainy Posted 20 October 2008 Author Posted 20 October 2008 He drove from last to 7th last year, and three cars ahead of him had some issue with their fuel. But please, Heikki, can you help Lewis out this time?
isaidno Posted 22 October 2008 Posted 22 October 2008 Montreal’s mayor will meet with F1 supremo Bernie Ecclestone this week in an attempt to save next year’s Canadian Grand Prix. The race was dropped from the 2009 calendar earlier this month amid claims, since refuted by the Montreal authorities, that the organisers had defaulted on payments to Ecclestone over the past three years. But with the city's government bidding to get its race reinstated, local mayor Gerald Tremblay and two senior cabinet members will fly to London on Wednesday to talk with Ecclestone about its future face-to-face. The grand prix is said to bring $75 million to the local economy every summer and the regional government is keen to hold onto the race as a tourist attraction. "If we are able to reasonably and responsibly save this event, we will do it," Quebec’s minister for economic development, Raymond Bachand, told local newspaper the Montreal Gazette. "The grand prix is a big event, it's the biggest tourism event, but how much does it bring in concretely, not only in spinoffs, but in cash in our pockets as citizens, as taxpayers? "I am going to negotiate with Mr Ecclestone, so we will keep our cards to ourselves." According to the newspaper, the organisers of the city’s street festivals during grand prix weekends also intend to fight for their annual event. They are set to come up with an action plan to save the race, which has brought a regular boost to their local economy since the first races at Montreal in the late 1970s.
Brainy Posted 23 October 2008 Author Posted 23 October 2008 Briatore: Lewis has learnt his lesson3 hours ago Flavio Briatore is ready to put his money on Lewis Hamilton to win this season's Formula One world title - just a week after writing off his chances. Briatore ripped into Hamilton ahead of a Chinese Grand Prix the 23-year-old dominated to leave him on the brink of becoming the youngest world champion in F1 history. "He has learned from last year for this year," Briatore told www.autosport.com. "I believe when you are fighting for the championship you need to look at the points, not only the victories." The outspoken Renault boss claimed the fact Hamilton threw away a 17-point lead last season with two races remaining was "worthy of the Guinness Book of Records." Briatore also insisted Hamilton "should be told he is an F1 driver, not a Martian," in the wake of his first corner mistake in the Japanese Grand Prix and claimed the McLaren star would throw it all away again to let Ferrari's Felipe Massa take the title. "What I said was quite simple, that it is difficult when you have pressure like he has had," Briatore added. "Last year he lost 17 points in two races and sometimes it is the second, third or fourth place that is the target. That was my opinion. "It is not possible to win all the time. Sometimes, when you are fighting for the championship, it is good to finish second, third, or even fifth." Fifth place is all Hamilton requires in the final race of the season in Brazil in 10 days' time to claim the crown ahead of Massa. Asked who he would back, Briatore replied: "If I need to put money on anyone, then for sure I will put it on Hamilton as he has much more chance than anybody."
isaidno Posted 28 October 2008 Posted 28 October 2008 The Brazilian GP starts at 5pm on Sunday. I've got a feel Alonso will try and take Hamilton out. Also, if Raikkonen takes Hamilton out, Ferrari win constructors & Massa the title
shen Posted 28 October 2008 Posted 28 October 2008 The Brazilian GP starts at 5pm on Sunday. I've got a feel Alonso will try and take Hamilton out. Also, if Raikkonen takes Hamilton out, Ferrari win constructors & Massa the title Why would he compromise his own race for that? He might be a petulant kid, but he's not nearly as reckless or unprofessional as that <_<
Jimmy Posted 28 October 2008 Posted 28 October 2008 Why would he compromise his own race for that? He might be a petulant kid, but he's not nearly as reckless or unprofessional as that <_< he has nothing to race for, HATES Hamilton and McLaren, why wouldn't he
Brainy Posted 28 October 2008 Author Posted 28 October 2008 I cant even see Alonso being vicious enough to take him out.
Jimmy Posted 28 October 2008 Posted 28 October 2008 I cant even see Alonso being vicious enough to take him out. but I'm sure he isn't above a "clumsy" overtaking manoeuvre on Lewis
Brainy Posted 28 October 2008 Author Posted 28 October 2008 but I'm sure he isn't above a "clumsy" overtaking manoeuvre on Lewis There's an Alonso type aggressive pass on Hamilton, and then there's a blatant take-out manoeuvre. I can only see Alonso being more aggressive around Hamilton, I can't see him taking Hamilton and himself out, whether or not Alonso has anything to race for.
lildave3 Posted 29 October 2008 Posted 29 October 2008 Looking forward to it. Surely he'll do it. Surely.
Head Honcho Posted 1 November 2008 Posted 1 November 2008 Come on Hamilton get that pole and win it for GB. Qualifying starts in 20 minutes on ITV.
Wycombe Fox Posted 1 November 2008 Posted 1 November 2008 Come on Hamilton get that pole and win it for GB.Qualifying starts in 20 minutes on ITV. Looking forward to this. Pleased to see HK had some pace in final practice earlier. If Hamilton gets pole, HK might be quick enough to be his rear gunner. I just hope Hamilton's sensible about the job-in-hand.
jonno24 Posted 1 November 2008 Posted 1 November 2008 Well from next year the BBC will show formula 1 races and qualifying so there is the end of adverts in important parts of the race.
