Brainy Posted 11 October 2008 Author Posted 11 October 2008 Those twats at ITV definately told me that qualifying started at 4.30, not 6.00.
Asha Posted 11 October 2008 Posted 11 October 2008 Those twats at ITV definately told me that qualifying started at 4.30, not 6.00. So you woke up early for nowt?
Asha Posted 11 October 2008 Posted 11 October 2008 Up very early tomorrow then for this, being the die hard F1 nut that I am. Bit worried though, can see this being a Hamilton dominated race. Race start is 5 30 am our time.
lildave3 Posted 11 October 2008 Posted 11 October 2008 Me and the old man are thinking Pro Evo all night, then watch the race, then bed. Ala the Ricky Hatton fight last year.
Asha Posted 11 October 2008 Posted 11 October 2008 Someone persuade me to get up for this. Do it. Better than turning on the TV and the race result comes up Alternatively, like lildave said, stay up all night and go sleep in the morning.
Brainy Posted 12 October 2008 Author Posted 12 October 2008 Nine hours sleep in two days isn't really enough for me. Same next weekend too
Asha Posted 12 October 2008 Posted 12 October 2008 Nine hours sleep in two days isn't really enough for me.Same next weekend too But it's all for the love of the sport!! I'm up too, just woke everyone else up and all - stupid alarm.
Brainy Posted 12 October 2008 Author Posted 12 October 2008 Don't wanna sound like a glory hunter, but I may aswell go back to bed.
Asha Posted 12 October 2008 Posted 12 October 2008 Don't wanna sound like a glory hunter, but I may aswell go back to bed. I was thinking the same after the first lap. Shouldn't have bothered really, even though Massa got a point it doesn't make a massive difference. Looking at the table now though Kubica's right in the battle for the title. In terms of the penalties, I think they were all a bit harsh. At the moment, every contact...every passing move involving either Hamilton or Massa is resulting in a penalty. It's taking the piss now, as the proper action with contact etc isn't allowed now. In terms of the investigation after the race, there's no doubt in my mind that as a result Massa came off worse, and Bourdais wasn't really affected. We're all glory hunters Can you imagine supporting Force India and being delighted with finishing 15th or something?
Brainy Posted 12 October 2008 Author Posted 12 October 2008 Honestly, I thought Massa's penalty was fair and Hamilton's was harsh. Kovalainen got penalised for hitting Webber at Spa in a similar scenario, as for Hamilton though Since when has it become a crime to outbrake yourself?
Brainy Posted 12 October 2008 Author Posted 12 October 2008 Massa promoted to 7th. This makes no sense.
SamL Posted 12 October 2008 Posted 12 October 2008 Massa promoted to 7th.This makes no sense. Sebastian Bourdais was given a 25 second penalty for colliding with Massa.
Brainy Posted 12 October 2008 Author Posted 12 October 2008 Sebastian Bourdais was given a 25 second penalty for colliding with Massa. Oh I know that, its the 25 second penalty that makes no sense.
Jimmy Posted 12 October 2008 Posted 12 October 2008 still a 5 point lead for Lewis, he could win it out right next race
purpleronnie Posted 12 October 2008 Posted 12 October 2008 Or he could completely blow it like last season.
lildave3 Posted 12 October 2008 Posted 12 October 2008 Couldn't believe that, stay up til 5 and his race is over after one lap. <_<
billabob Posted 12 October 2008 Posted 12 October 2008 We're all glory hunters Can you imagine supporting Force India and being delighted with finishing 15th or something? Were never delighted with 15th, we will be delighted when we score a fluffing point!
billabob Posted 12 October 2008 Posted 12 October 2008 Oh I know that, its the 25 second penalty that makes no sense. Of course it makes sense, the Ferrari International Assistance have come into play to help the life long members get another point!
Floating Fox Posted 12 October 2008 Posted 12 October 2008 Farcical for me, as it is all the time when they have Ashun races. Stayed up till about 2am Watching CSI & Nascar then decided to go sleep on the sofa and set the alarm on my phone for half 4, woke up when the alarm went off....The pre-race crap bored me and I fell asleep again and woke up when they were all on the podium, so I couldn't block out the media and not know the result either. Shambolic.
isaidno Posted 12 October 2008 Posted 12 October 2008 I thought both Hamilton & Massa's penalties were fair. Hamilton forced his teammate & the 2 Ferraris of the track, and Massa took Hamilton out. I believe that if Kubica was in a Ferrari or a Mclaren he would of had the championship sewn up by now. He's the most consistent driver by far.
The Stig Posted 12 October 2008 Posted 12 October 2008 Hammilton penalty fair. Massa penalty fair. Bourdais penalty absolute disgrace. He had the inside line, wasn't going at excessive speed, wasn't blocking Felipe who charged round the outside and ran out of room. Shambolic dicsision from the corrupt Fearri biased FIA.
Legend_in_blue Posted 12 October 2008 Posted 12 October 2008 Well, Ferrari International Aid won't be too happy with this one. Although I guess it was a case of damage limitation. Since when has a first corner, first lap incident been the subject of a penalty? Mmmm, can't recall too many of those. But hang on, it involved Lewis that compromised a Ferrari's position on the circuit. Better penalise him then. Bit different when Kimi gave Lewis next to no room at Spa eh? That's what I thought. Oh, I don't recall too many incidents whereby a driver has delibrately taken the curb and half the grass with him to slide into the side of another car causing him to spin either. That'd be a new page in Schumachers book that one. Only a drive through penalty? So very lenient that one. Well Lewis still has a lead and I hope he keeps it. The FIA is running out of races in which to screw him over.
