Vincent Pericard

Seems to me that almost every time Holloway opens his mouth he adds to his problems.

The media can be a major asset and, handled thoughtfully, they're no problem at all. But Holloway's like a bloke walking blindfold through a simulated minefield.

And so far, in just a few weeks, he's blown himself up at least three times.

It's managerial folly to criticise your own players in public and having a go at Keane over Fulop is pointless.

Keane will not be made to feel guilty. He's doing his job - getting the most he can for an asset.

Having a go at Keane will only put his back up and make him much more inclined to be bloody minded and to prefer dealing with someone else.

Like you, if that's the best he can do, I'd rather he shut up and just report in when he's got signatures on paper.

When I first came on this web site I said exactly the same regarding publicity and I got called some terribly mean names, oh and you said I was bitter.........................told you so, big gob=big publicity some good some bad.

Bloody hell I thought this guy was in his mid 30's he's only 25!

Not scored much in 5 years for a striker but the only good point is that he scored 4 in 15 under Ollie at Plymouth so maybe Ollie see's something in him we don't

Scored three of those in one game ,two were open goal tap ins, all four were under Tony Penis, sorry Pulis, nope definately Penis.(bitter aaaaaaaaaaargyle ramblings)

Vincent Pericard is no better than what we have now.

It will be a pointless signing IMO.

Actually you are wrong , he is much worse than what you have now.

Pericard isn't that bad, he cracked in loads for Pompey when they went up!! Trouble is that was nearly 5 years ago

He scored nine goals for Pompey in four years all while with them on loan as soon as he signed he never scored again for them.

Oh yea he has a cracking strike record though 19 goals in I beleive about 113 games(not alot considering he turned pro in 1999)could possibly be injury prone, more than likely he is just sh*t.

I think Ollie may be going through some mid life crisis or he is bankrupting you for not giving him the job when he was at QPR.(I love a good conspiracy theory)

Hi,

Stoke fan here.

I really hope the news that you have signed PeriCANT is true. He is truely awful.

He has no pace and stands around in the middle of the park doing nothing for the majority of the time when he's on the feild. on the odd occasion he does run with the ball. He will fall over after around 10 yards pleading for a free kick/penalty depending where he is.

He just seems like a very lazy as been, living of past glory, that he once played for Juventus

I can't see you having to pay much for him, whatever you pay is good buisness for us.

incedentily you don't want a big fat stiker called John Parkin do ya?

No, thank you. We already have enough of them.

Get him in, James the Blue requires more strikers for his "Leicester Striker 1st eleven" he does not at the moment have a full bench to work with. Another fatty would keep the bench warm nicely.

If this is true I can't help but think that Milan Mandaric is getting far too involved in transfer deals again. Mandaric was chairman of Pompey when Pericard scored a few goals there and they were promoted; on recent performances (i.e last three seasons in this division) I can't see any reason why Holloway would want to sign him; regardless of my opinion of the man I don't believe Holloway is that stupid

Any interest in Pericard is surely a result of Milan's interference! Which is worrying!

Can't remember for sure but I think my reference to your being bitter was distinctly tongue-in-cheek. I've never been against Holloway trying to clear unwanted players but I've never thought managers wise to criticise their own staff in public. It just makes their own job harder.

If this was true then why was he in Stoke's squad today?

Because he is contracted to Stoke City and they are entitled to select him in their matchday squad :P he was only on the bench anyway!

There would be no issue of him being cup-tied because if a deal with us is already decided Pulis would have known before announcing his squad that we were already out of the cup so the fact he will be ineligible to play in the FA cup again this season isn't going to affect any deal

Barry Hayles was on the bench for Plymouth the weekend before he came here

Steve Howard played for Derby 1/2 days before he came here

I don't see that we can possibly deduce anything from the fact he was in Stoke's squad today; maybe I've missed somthing here??

Other than it might make a fair part of any medical already undetaken a waste of time if he actually played :dunno:

Just seems strange, perhaps only to me, that if he has already had a medical here he'd still be involved in a matchday squad.

doctors need to look at bones etc to make judgements about predicted injury proneness and stuff like that.

now that is a good point!!

Almost enough to give us a glimmer of hope that he will not be unveiled at a press conference tomorrow morning or soon after!

And..... I did say a fair part of the medical!

Got a horrible feeling, he'll be announced today as a Leicester player. This is based on no inside info, as I never have any.

"This is based on no inside info, as i never have any" :crylaugh:

Lets hope he doesnt sign..seriously!!! :frusty:

It must mean the end of quite a few strikers we have then if we have now signed 3 more.
