MC Prussian Posted 4 January 2008 Posted 4 January 2008 I knew somebody had to abuse my statement proof of affection.
Thracian Posted 4 January 2008 Posted 4 January 2008 Everywhere I flipping turn he is doing another interview! Is that all he does, can't he do something decent like sign some DECENT players other than what possibly maybe Vincent PeRetard Seems to me that almost every time Holloway opens his mouth he adds to his problems. The media can be a major asset and, handled thoughtfully, they're no problem at all. But Holloway's like a bloke walking blindfold through a simulated minefield. And so far, in just a few weeks, he's blown himself up at least three times. It's managerial folly to criticise your own players in public and having a go at Keane over Fulop is pointless. Keane will not be made to feel guilty. He's doing his job - getting the most he can for an asset. Having a go at Keane will only put his back up and make him much more inclined to be bloody minded and to prefer dealing with someone else. Like you, if that's the best he can do, I'd rather he shut up and just report in when he's got signatures on paper.
Fez of Mahrez Posted 4 January 2008 Posted 4 January 2008 I dream of a Hayles and Pericard strike force with Porter in the hole. Ah, the old Aswad formation.
MC Prussian Posted 4 January 2008 Posted 4 January 2008 Ah, the old Aswad formation. You mean G.I.Elvis.
Head Honcho Posted 4 January 2008 Posted 4 January 2008 Bloody hell I thought this guy was in his mid 30's he's only 25! Not scored much in 5 years for a striker but the only good point is that he scored 4 in 15 under Ollie at Plymouth so maybe Ollie see's something in him we don't
eaststandtom Posted 4 January 2008 Posted 4 January 2008 What amazes me that he's insinuating that he may get rid of a striker (Hume or Fryatt) as they've hardly been pulling up any trees, which I suppose you cannot argue with. But Hume has 5 goals in 8 games, so you'd have to think it would be harsh for Holloway to think Mr Pericard would be a better option than Hume, whose not been playing up front every game either. Fryatt's not been as good, but his goal scoring prowess compared to Pericards is ludicrously prolific, which is saying something. That article doesn't mention a goal keeper, which I hope is just a mis-print as we're screwed if we stick with Henderson. We don't even have any back-up. Neilson and Douglas are going and Logan is on loan for the season. It's scary how much of a mess this club is in. Our current group of players are simply not good enough! We all know this. This is why we have been hovering above the relegation zone for 4 years. So we need players to play in the team instead of the guys who have contributed to this below par mediocrity. We are using players who were in the team under levein. That says it all Fryatt, hume, stearman, wesolowski, kisnorbo, Sheehan, + mcauley all feature more regularly than most. Our position isn’t a lie.. these guys haven’t done enough to push us up to the play offs where we want to be. Fact!!! Our strikers don’t score, our midfielders aren’t dominating other sides midfields and our defence is too unreliable, slow, gets caught out of position and is inconsistent with marking. Generally we have too many injury prone players which contributes to the mass inconsistency and bad form. We need new guys to bring in what ollie says a positive attitude. The guys we have have played in a team that just loses and chucks games away through basic errors. Each player, despite a strength has a weakness which reminds you why they are playing for a lower championship side (fryatt great brain but lack of pace, hume good skill but poor brain, mcauley can be imposing but appalling distribution/poor marking, wesolowski is tenacious and runs into the ground negatives are his injuries) we need players with positives to outway their negatives or at least the teams negatives which we do not have. Hence 4 years of crap!!!!!!
MC Prussian Posted 4 January 2008 Posted 4 January 2008 I agree with what you're saying, eaststandtom. However, I would appreciate it if Holloway got rid of our worst footballers first. It's a disgrace and a smack in the face of all disgruntled LCFC fans that some of those miserable failures still feature on the OS, let alone get a chance to play in the first team. We could field two rugby teams with the amount of players we have.

I think it was under Pulis though when he was at Plymouth.

Hence 4 years of crap!!!!!! You may be right but our forwards and defence in all that time have never had a decent midfield in between them. Changing the whole team in one fell swoop is both dangerous and costly. First and foremost we need a midfield to see how the current forwards and defence play as part of a complete and balanced team then if the prove inadequate, I'm sure it wont be all of them then get rid. Continually and publicly saying they are not good enough whilst at the same time realising how difficult it is to buy up a whole team in the January window will leave us with a disjointed demoralised set up.
Babylon Posted 4 January 2008 Author Posted 4 January 2008 Don't!!!! when do u think itll be announced Make nobody knows... just sit tight and keep your eye on our official site.
davieG Posted 4 January 2008 Posted 4 January 2008 when do u think itll be announced After the other 5 striker deals have been completed.
Head Honcho Posted 4 January 2008 Posted 4 January 2008 A hat-trick against Coventrey if I remember rightly. I think it was under Pulis though when he was at Plymouth. Oh well!

surrifox Posted 4 January 2008 Posted 4 January 2008 No No No!He's got an injured ankle! the reports are that it is "troublesome" rather than "injured" are they in fact the same thing?
