MikeyT Posted 7 January 2008 Posted 7 January 2008 Leicester are making a £1.5million swoop for 11-goal MK Dons midfielder Keith Andrews (the sun) Never seen him play, is he any good, and i have to ask...how reliable are the Sun?
The People's Hero Posted 7 January 2008 Posted 7 January 2008 I don't particularly rate him but you can't argue with his goal record of late. I doubt if it would take £1.5 million to get him though.
teblin Posted 7 January 2008 Author Posted 7 January 2008 Never seen him play, is he any good, and i have to ask...how reliable are the Sun? Not sure 11 goals is a good return for a midfielder.
mancunianfox Posted 7 January 2008 Posted 7 January 2008 He's done very well this season and very poorly previously. He's also a Martin Allen signing and we know ALL about Martin Allen signings don't we?
Babylon Posted 7 January 2008 Posted 7 January 2008 He's done very well this season and very poorly previously. He's also a Martin Allen signing and we know ALL about Martin Allen signings don't we? Well I know about players that he got handed by MM and DM.
mancunianfox Posted 7 January 2008 Posted 7 January 2008 Well I know about players that he got handed by MM and DM. Do you know something I don't then or are you just speculating?
Babylon Posted 7 January 2008 Posted 7 January 2008 Do you know something I don't then or are you just speculating? I'm doing what you are doing, guessing. But.... MM admitted he signed N'Gotty. DM had Hellings and Sappltton on trial at boro. Kaebis agent said MM tried to sign him at Portsmouth. We had previously tried to sign Nielson. And that's off the top of my head.

Djeziri and Ferreira must also have been Mandaric's as they were signed after Martin Allen was sacked. Not sure who signed Clemence but I have a feeling he was offered to us by Brum when we were enquiring about DJ. Would be interested to know who was responsible for Carl Cort...nobdy seems to have owned up to that one yet. We know that Kishishev, Hayes, Campbell were MA's though. Fulop and Clarke were MA's as well. In Allen's defense he did make better signings but at the same time he should have stood up to Mandaric and turned down all of the rubbish that him and Mackay were recommending. Hopefully Mandaric has learnt his lesson and will not be recommending future transfers. I doubt that though.

Maybe he did eventually, well he refused JFH and probably Fowler, is that why he got the push?
teblin Posted 7 January 2008 Author Posted 7 January 2008 Maybe he did eventually, well he refused JFH and probably Fowler, is that why he got the push? He got the push because he was a bully.
Babylon Posted 7 January 2008 Posted 7 January 2008 Maybe he did eventually, well he refused JFH and probably Fowler, is that why he got the push? The guy didn't know the Market he was now working in also, so he had to trust MM and DM when he was handed players and told they were good. Also we will never really know why DM and LF were sacked... but you could speculate it had something to do with shoddy deals/players. He got the push because he was a bully. And you know that because........
mancunianfox Posted 7 January 2008 Posted 7 January 2008 Maybe he did eventually, well he refused JFH and probably Fowler, is that why he got the push? Probably. Plus I suppose someone had to take the fall to make Mandaric look better. It was obvious from the start of the season that we had not improved the squad over the summer. When Allen stood on the middle of the pitch before the Watford game his fate was sealed. If we get promoted its going to be Mandaric who wants the credit and I don't think he was prepared to put up with that. The guy didn't know the Market he was now working in also, so he had to trust MM and DM when he was handed players and told they were good. Mandaric should have appointed a manager in the summer who knew the market. Maybe he didn't because all of the others interviewed told him that they wouldn't him getting involved with transfers?
teblin Posted 7 January 2008 Author Posted 7 January 2008 Going back to andrews, as well as 11 goals he has also 6 assists too his name.
teblin Posted 7 January 2008 Author Posted 7 January 2008 And you know that because........ Maybe i should have siad it was most probable becuase he was a bully.
Babylon Posted 7 January 2008 Posted 7 January 2008 Maybe i should have siad it was most probable becuase he was a bully. Yes you should
Ultra Posted 7 January 2008 Posted 7 January 2008 Never seen him play, is he any good, and i have to ask...how reliable are the Sun? The only reliable thing about the Sun is the date.. As for Andrews, he played at Championship level for Wolves and Hull and wasn't particularly outstanding. I wouldn't rate him as being worth £1.5m.
SamL Posted 7 January 2008 Posted 7 January 2008 Oh no, not another striker. Surely this money would be better spent strengthening in a position that actually needs strengthening?
Fez of Mahrez Posted 7 January 2008 Posted 7 January 2008 Oh no, not another striker.Surely this money would be better spent strengthening in a position that actually needs strengthening? He's a central midfielder.
MPH Posted 7 January 2008 Posted 7 January 2008 I swear 80% of tabloid news is sent in by agents. It shows a possibility their player is available. Shows what sort of clubs the player or his agent are interested in him going to ( so that other similar clubs might show an interest) And basically opens the bidding at what sort of fee they would like ( so that their cut is as high as possible) Yet it is rare they go for that much. Could we be linked with any more players? Lets face it if we signed every player we were linked with ( which i think MA might of been tempted to do) then we would have a squad of about 100, hence my thought agents might be sending this info in.
Fez of Mahrez Posted 7 January 2008 Posted 7 January 2008 I have no time for humour. Everyone's getting short shrift til we win again.
Lester LXXIV Posted 7 January 2008 Posted 7 January 2008 I have no time for humour. Everyone's getting short shrift til we win again. ...Not any time soon then Fez??
