mancunianfox Posted 7 January 2008 Posted 7 January 2008 was previously a striker now cental midfielder scores a few and top of the badboy league(yellow/red cards) Was he a striker at all the championship clubs were he scored no goals? Holloway seems to dig strikers in midfield. Maybe he is trying to sneak one in unnoticed.
DonsFan Posted 7 January 2008 Posted 7 January 2008 He's always been a midfielder as far as I know. On form there isn't a better player in the division, great eye for a pass, dictates the game and scores goals. Can tackle as well. To be honest I think he'd be better off staying with us for another season and seeing how he gets on in League One. Then he can start thinking about the Championship, I think like McLeod was for Charlton he'd be a risk for you at the minute and if £1.5m was offered we'd snap your hand off. He's a great player but would be a gamble and £1.5m can go a long way at our level, it could put us in contention for back to back promotions.
Staf Posted 7 January 2008 Posted 7 January 2008 Only ever seen him a couple of times on sky and i didnt think that much of him but you never know
Jack Posted 7 January 2008 Posted 7 January 2008 1.5 Mil, It seems a bit steep to me for an Mk Dons midfielder.
Joe. Posted 7 January 2008 Posted 7 January 2008 Erm.. isn't this Keith Andrews who couldn't get in MK Dons team near the end of last season and was nearly transferred?
Jonezy Posted 7 January 2008 Posted 7 January 2008 The Sun reported the Alnwick connection 3 days ago, so they get it right sometimes......
Mark Posted 7 January 2008 Posted 7 January 2008 Keith Andrews Seems to be a one season wonder, at least when it comes to goalscoring. Hardly ever hit the net at any of his other clubs, not worth the risk.
Joe. Posted 7 January 2008 Posted 7 January 2008 Seems to be a one season wonder, at least when it comes to goalscoring. Hardly ever hit the net at any of his other clubs, not worth the risk. That's what I thought. He's not playing above League Two at the moment for a reason.

Definitley not for 1.5m anyway. After reading that I would of thought he would be worth about 250-350k or there abouts.
Jack Posted 7 January 2008 Posted 7 January 2008 That's what I thought. He's not playing above League Two at the moment for a reason. I agree, he can't have that much about him because he has played at this level at Wolves and Hull but didn't manage to hold down a place and now has ended up in League two. I think we need to set our sights a bit higher especially at that price.
Simi Posted 7 January 2008 Posted 7 January 2008 Erm.. isn't this Keith Andrews who couldn't get in MK Dons team near the end of last season and was nearly transferred? Yeah, he was. The thing I dreaded happening seems to be very close to lift off. Holloway wasting this money on players he could get at a cheaper price. Or buying for the sake of buying. He should have never commented on the size of his budget.
MPH Posted 7 January 2008 Posted 7 January 2008 Seems to be a one season wonder, at least when it comes to goalscoring. Hardly ever hit the net at any of his other clubs, not worth the risk. its the agent. he is having a punt at getting a big pay day for his lad.
Bryn Posted 7 January 2008 Posted 7 January 2008 Could be a decent signing, but for nowhere near that price. I'd have qualms about us paying £500k.
The Reverend Posted 7 January 2008 Posted 7 January 2008 No thanks Ollie. We aint got 1.5 million to be throwin around on unproven League 2 players. Will not be best pleased if this goes through. Ridiculous amount of money. Has been on the Setanta Sports News-reel thing all day, but whether thats just saying what the papers say i dont know.
DonsFan Posted 7 January 2008 Posted 7 January 2008 Nope, he's never been out of side since he arrived... he's captain. Started as a holding midfielder but towards the end of last season as soon as we brought a more defensive midfielder on loan, it released him and the goalscoring started. No one really expected it this season but I guess the signs were there. McLeod went for £1.5m, he was the best player in the division, Andrews has now taken over that mantle. We won't sell him for less than £1m I'd imagine, because we don't particularly need the cash. McLeod flopped mind.

People who give us info are more than welcome here, its the Plymouth fans still slating us 6-7 weeks after their manager left them thats annoying.

kidder_wolf Posted 8 January 2008 Posted 8 January 2008 Keith "the crap" Andrews was awful at Wolves most of the time but he would have 1 or 2 games every season where he would be different class. He always played as the holding/defensive midfield role and i only ever noticed him pass the ball sideways. Stay clear if i was you. His midfield partner at Wolves was Carl Robinson who is currently back training with us. And there was me thinking our season couldnt get any worse

Milton Keynes Dons: Gueret, Stirling, Diallo, O'Hanlon, Lewington, Johnson, Howell, Navarro, Wright, Baldock (Taylor 59), Broughton. Subs Not Used: Abbey, Carbon, Chicksen, Kelly. He has now, according to the Beeb...
