filbertboy Posted 19 January 2008 Posted 19 January 2008 Listen, you've been told once!!!!! Shut up and behave. :D . right lets be clear I never comment on a team performance I have never seen. I love this forum for the news views and opinions and still feel able to comment on many aspects involving city, but do not comment on the performance of a game Ive never seen. I simply dont like armchair fan terminology cos If i was able I wud be going , just as I used to do , to every game. I find the term upsetting as it reflects my current physical status as much as any thing. sorry if this seems too personal. just wondering if you have read the whole thread ?? dont know how your telling me to shut up fits in. so dont understand why u tell me to shut up and behave , your comment really pissed me off Just wondering if you could shut up and behave.
Thracian Posted 19 January 2008 Posted 19 January 2008 You probably being sarcastic, not sure. If not, you've been a bit unfar on Daggers. He is right, nothing is worse than reading post-match comments from folks who didn't attend the game for whatever reason. Maybe he came across a tad bit harsh, but hey thats Daggers Daggers is just being miserable. I reckon he had a close thing with his bets and only a couple of supposed certainties let him down. He's emotive. Besides, you're okay most of the time. What the hell are you doing siding with him? This is not a democracy, it's a battle of wills. If he'd been a good guy he'd have told you that. :D
renards Posted 19 January 2008 Posted 19 January 2008 Agree to a point. The calls to the phone in wind me up, experts who never go to games. + Giving player ratings based on the radio is daft ...But surely its acceptable to comment on a forum on how you think the game has gone/going when you can't make the odd game Team selection, subs etc not all 'shit' Seemed obvious from the radio that we were having problems down our left etc
Hullfox Posted 19 January 2008 Posted 19 January 2008 I don't know any judge or jury that was present when the events happened. Yet they pass judgement. I said present at the trial not the event.
Trav Le Bleu Posted 19 January 2008 Posted 19 January 2008 But what about the people who DO go to all the matches and STILL haven't a clue what they saw? Hmm?
CKB Posted 19 January 2008 Posted 19 January 2008 I think while things are improving, it's gonna take alot more hard work from Ollie to sort out the problems we have and that's simply competition for places, pegs are being put in round holes yes, but there's many holes to fill yet! And yes the ending of that paragraph did sound rather kinky! So all in all? hell i'll take 0-0, better than a loss hey?
Hullfox Posted 19 January 2008 Posted 19 January 2008 right lets be clear I never comment on a team performance I have never seen. Calm down FFS. He was attempting to be funny.
Thracian Posted 19 January 2008 Posted 19 January 2008 I said present at the trial not the event. But these people still pass judgement based on verbal evidence do they not? Not on the basis of having been there. What's the difference between that and listening to a radio commentary?
Thracian Posted 19 January 2008 Posted 19 January 2008 Calm down FFS.He was attempting to be funny. Thank you Hullfox. It clearly fell on stony ground.

Sometimes Filbertboy you can take people too seriously. No harm meant I assure you.
MikeyT Posted 19 January 2008 Posted 19 January 2008 So can we have the views of the people who were at the match then to give the radio listeners from today a bit more insight please?
Koke Posted 19 January 2008 Posted 19 January 2008 So can we have the views of the people who were at the match then to give the radio listeners from today a bit more insight please? When they get home, in about 2 hours time roughly.
Hullfox Posted 19 January 2008 Posted 19 January 2008 But these people still pass judgement based on verbal evidence do they not? Not on the basis of having been there. What's the difference between that and listening to a radio commentary? Because it is solely the view of one or two witnesses who when you read the thread dedicated to the commentary would easily have their evidence brought into question. You yourself posted; Barber was just like a pet lap dog. Nothing he asked was likely to draw anything we didn't know. It was just airwave gobbledegook. Yet you are saying people should give views on a game they didn't see, based upon Radio commentary from John Barber. But then, we all know remember how you condemned Worthington after his first game that you didn't even see so we should know what to expect from you really.
Babylon Posted 19 January 2008 Posted 19 January 2008 I am no less of a supporter than anyone else and I am entitled to my opinion and certainly know a lot more than shit. HE'S NOT SAYING PEOPLE WHO DON'T GO ARE LESSER FANS!!! He's saying how can people possibly pass comment on factors of the game that only those that have been there know about. 10 seconds on the Championship and Barber talking about the weather is not enough to form such strong opinions!!
Thracian Posted 19 January 2008 Posted 19 January 2008 There was always going to be loud mouths on here today if we didn't win. Most of the forum have spent the last week thinking we're now a brilliant team because we turned Cov over. I think it's a bit difficult to judge certain players and tactics, formation ect from John Barbers below par commentry but I do think people are justified in saying we shouldn't really be going to Carrow road and getting shat on for 90 minutes if thats their opinion. I'm happy with 0-0 personally. Most of the forum WANTED to feel the team was transformed because they've had years and years of feeling like they're supporting the team from hell. It's a form of optimism that's like taking coccaine when you've been told you're dying of cancer. It's an escape. What's it matter? Even I felt uplifted briefly. It's like admitting your a secret alchoholic. You feel guilty.
Hullfox Posted 19 January 2008 Posted 19 January 2008 So can we have the views of the people who were at the match then to give the radio listeners from today a bit more insight please? Absolutely not. There is nothing further that they can bring to the discussion.
Babylon Posted 19 January 2008 Posted 19 January 2008 but I do think people are justified in saying we shouldn't really be going to Carrow road and getting shat on for 90 minutes if thats their opinion. Of course they are. I'm happy with 0-0 personally. So am I. Unfortunately, some people aren't capable of ever taking a middle ground... we are either shit, or great.
reynard Posted 19 January 2008 Posted 19 January 2008 What do I think about getting 0-0 against Norwich?Nothing, because I didn't go to the game. I sat at home and listened to bits of the second half - that's all. Yet there's those who, having listened to a bit more Barber & Piper than I could physically manage seem to think they have a valid opinion about the substitutions, our formation and whether or not it was a good result. And those with the most to post on the matter really have the least to contribute. Bollocks. If you didn't see the game you don't know shit. What a load of patronising crap. People are entitled to have an opinion whether they have been to the game or not. Whether you choose to pay any credance to it is up to you and any other individual. Personally I don't. Obviously though they know the result and are perfectly entitled to comment on their feelings as to whether it was a good result or not. As it is clear you didn't go to the game you are on this occasion an armchair supporter and perhaps would have been better not expressing your opinion for you to use your own words obviously "know shit" Typical of the ill-eduated intolerant attitude that pervades this country.
Thracian Posted 19 January 2008 Posted 19 January 2008 Absolutely not. There is nothing further that they can bring to the discussion. Glad that's settled then. Hearing once about getting hammered is bad enough!
davieG Posted 19 January 2008 Posted 19 January 2008 Calm down everyone, no one can really know what happened at the game until they've read Bill Anderson's match report!
Babylon Posted 19 January 2008 Posted 19 January 2008 Here we go... freedom of speech, i'm allowed my opinion blah blah blah. I'm allowed an opinion on the finer matters of the theory of relativity, but reading two pages on it at school hardly means I can be taken seriously and should even be allowed to debate it. Calm down everyone, no one can really know what happened at the game until they've read Bill Anderson's match report! Does he even go?

He's kicking them in the balls and kicking them with spikes when they rub it better. You get Taliban kinder than him!
