Fosse Boy Posted 25 August 2008 Posted 25 August 2008 Thought the sound man mucked up big time for Rage at Leeds, far too quiet from where I was standing...
Joe. Posted 25 August 2008 Posted 25 August 2008 Thought the sound man mucked up big time for Rage at Leeds, far too quiet from where I was standing... Aha here he is! I was the one who saw you in the crowd at Rage by the way, whether you can remember or not is another question.
Samilktray Posted 25 August 2008 Posted 25 August 2008 Hopefully gonna go to Reading, Leeds or Glanstonbury next summer.
purpleronnie Posted 25 August 2008 Posted 25 August 2008 Been to watch them a few times including V last week , cracking show , frontman is great with the crowd Shame the music is meaningless rubbish.
Sparky Posted 25 August 2008 Posted 25 August 2008 Shame the music is meaningless rubbish. yeah in your opinion me old cocker
filbertway Posted 25 August 2008 Posted 25 August 2008 As everyone else has already said, class weekend and cannot wait for '09 now Good to meet up with Nick (Wet Trump) and have a laugh for a night and saw joe randomly a few times during the weekend How bad was the mud on the friday though, I fell over at least 5 times , glad they sorted it for the last 2 days. Highlights for me were Pendulum, We are scientists, los campesinos, the enemy, Hadouken and the pigeon detectives. Although as Joe said, I thoguht all the sets were good. Special mention to the subways singer, he was the best at getting the crowd going and really getting into it out of all the bands I saw. Good times.

That was about the cheapest at V
filbertway Posted 25 August 2008 Posted 25 August 2008 Was it £4.50 a burger job ? That was about the cheapest at V Aye, cheapest I found was £3.60 for a 1/4 pounder, msot were£4.50-£5.50 though yeh. Pints of tuborg were £3.50
Sparky Posted 25 August 2008 Posted 25 August 2008 Aye, cheapest I found was £3.60 for a 1/4 pounder, msot were£4.50-£5.50 though yeh. Pints of tuborg were £3.50 Yeah sounds like the same catering companys running them , out of curiosity were all the security scottish ?
filbertway Posted 25 August 2008 Posted 25 August 2008 Yeah sounds like the same catering companys running them , out of curiosity were all the security scottish ? Clearly a family of Gypsies. And erm I didn't really hear any security speak, only really spoke to volunteers and such.
Sods Posted 25 August 2008 Posted 25 August 2008 Reading was amazing. So many laughs with your mates, so many random moments. So much freeking drinking and other bad influnces. Loved every moment of it, I would say Cribs, Biffy, Bizzle, Gallows and Dizzee Rascal were outstanding. All bands I watched were great though, absoulutely shattered thiygh.
Sods Posted 25 August 2008 Posted 25 August 2008 Yeah sounds like the same catering companys running them , out of curiosity were all the security scottish ? Yeah all Scots down in Reading. I guess its the same company.
Fosse Boy Posted 25 August 2008 Posted 25 August 2008 Aha here he is!I was the one who saw you in the crowd at Rage by the way, whether you can remember or not is another question. Aye, that's me. Thought I ought to be there wearing some kind of City attire with it being a Satdee an' all. Ended up moving back a few rows due to lazy mates though which was probably why Rage sounded so bloody quiet from where I was. That was my third Leeds and we always seem to have a good win when I go, think they should hold a festival there every weekend of the season...
C-man Posted 25 August 2008 Posted 25 August 2008 Tickets go on sale tomorrow at 9AM for 2009 tickets at this year's prices. Reading was brilliant. Marginally better than the previous year although the weather wasn't so good. I have several photos of what I think is Craig's Leicester flag on the main stage during Biffy, and If anyone saw a Union Jack with Leicester written across the middle during Last Shadow Puppets or Cribs, then that was me! Highlights of the weekend music wise would have to be Dizzee, Biffy, Babyshambles, Killers, Pendulum and the Last Shadow Puppets!
Tilley Posted 25 August 2008 Posted 25 August 2008 Tickets go on sale tomorrow at 9AM for 2009 tickets at this year's prices. Tempted. Because as Joe said to me earlier, if my mates can't secure tickets in March, I can make a tidy profit.
Fosse Boy Posted 25 August 2008 Posted 25 August 2008 Think I saw a Leicester flag at Leeds on Sunday but to quote Michael McIntyre's set from the comedy tent, "I was pretty gazeboed", so maybe it was just an illusion. Either way it made a nice change from having to watch every band through a sea of (well, two) F*rest flags.
Sparky Posted 25 August 2008 Posted 25 August 2008 Yeah all Scots down in Reading.I guess its the same company. Yeah mardy bastards , were known by us as the fun police
Sods Posted 25 August 2008 Posted 25 August 2008 Saw a couple of Leicester Fans. Shouted Blue Army with one of them. Hated The Enemy with all the Cov scummers around.
Samilktray Posted 25 August 2008 Posted 25 August 2008 How much are the tickets gonna be for next year?
Sods Posted 25 August 2008 Posted 25 August 2008 How much are the tickets gonna be for next year? Same price as the 08 prices. £155 for the weekend. Plus booking fee etc.
Samilktray Posted 25 August 2008 Posted 25 August 2008 Same price as the 08 prices. £155 for the weekend. Plus booking fee etc. Well, i may well have to save up then.

Either way it made a nice change from having to watch every band through a sea of (well, two) F*rest flags. I definitely had my flag on Sunday for the majority of the day, and it was fairly near the front on main stage a few times so it could have been that one.
adam Posted 26 August 2008 Posted 26 August 2008 I definitely had my flag on Sunday for the majority of the day, and it was fairly near the front on main stage a few times so it could have been that one. Think i saw this too. And a tigers flag. I had a dunken discussion with a City fan about how great Trevor Benjamin was. Strange Was a quality weekend. Feeling shocking now though! Loved The Wombats, Killers, Babyshambles, MGMT and Pendulum. Roll on next year!

Joe. Posted 26 August 2008 Posted 26 August 2008 Also, it needs to be said that the lead singer of The Enemy is a bellend.
