Daggers Posted 6 February 2008 Posted 6 February 2008 one other thing which is also annoying is the cornish pasty jibes, plymouth is in devon which makes the comment basically invalid. Unfortunately very wrong Unfortunately very wrong And this place does pasties by post.

davieG Posted 6 February 2008 Posted 6 February 2008 Apologies if this has been posted but I'm not about to read 7 pages arguments about the children in charge of football clubs these days: Posted on: Wed 06 Feb 2008 Leicester City Chairman Milan Mandaric has responded to statements released by Plymouth Argyle Chairman Paul Stapleton on the club's Official Website this afternoon (Wednesday). In those statements, Stapleton talks about the departure of several key players during the January transfer window and in the process openly criticises Foxes boss Ian Holloway, who left the club back in November after 17 successful months at Home Park. Mandaric said: "I am saddened and disappointed by Paul Stapleton's comments and the timing of them just three days before our crucial game against Plymouth at the Walkers Stadium. "One thing their Chairman fails to mention is the amount of quality players Ollie brought to Home Park and the team he built under difficult circumstances and financial constraints. "Surely Ollie deserves some recognition and praise for his efforts. But Plymouth's loss is Leicester City's gain. "I am delighted Ollie is with us and the important thing is that we put these mind games to one side and concentrate on picking up three points on Saturday with the help of our players and supporters. "In the short couple of meetings I've had with Paul, he has always conducted himself in a professional manner but after reading these statements, all I can say is that it's not all about their Chairman crying all the way to the bank."
Geo V Posted 6 February 2008 Posted 6 February 2008 Its all sour grapes to me. Ollie has been gone for weeks and this idiot still spouts on. Its quite sad but at teh same time it must be a huge inadvertent pat on the back to Ollie as they wouldn't be ripping him apart if he was useless.
jbrommo Posted 6 February 2008 Posted 6 February 2008 As an Argyle fan I find all this unbelievable, although Leicester arent a fav team of mine, especially on Saturday these comments from our chairman seem to be stirring things up, and to be honest I reckon half of it is to try and cover up the monumental cock up the club is becoming!!! Ollie for my mind did a great job for us and wish him well in doing a good job for the Foxes (apart fron Sat of course), but like many fans who are fed up of Argyle I really only see Leicester as our next opponent, and hopefully a line can be drawn under the whole messy episode after the game!!! As for predictions - what do u foxes fans reckon?

P_A_F_C Posted 6 February 2008 Posted 6 February 2008 Hopefully after Saturday SSN and the BBC will stop giving Gollum any more publicity, apart from when Mandaric loses patience and gives him the boot after another 3 or 4 losses that is (after all that's probably how safe his job is at present). What you all seem to forget is that he was the one that lost all self respect when he was interviewed on your local TV program going on about coming back to Plymouth for every player he ever signed cos he was a bit upset with the Chairman. Bless his little cotton socks.

jbrommo Posted 6 February 2008 Posted 6 February 2008 I hope that all Argyle fans arent narrow minded and can see sense - just because I support Argyle doesnt mean I cant be a fan of Ollie, although many Argyle fans disagree!!! I'm sad to say that we are very much going the wrong way, and in all honesty with Ollie you'll be on the way up!!! I honestly believe that the game will be pretty poor as realistically we are both pretty poor - and I'm sure ur pitch wont help, I reckon we may sneak a draw but dont expect a lot of goals, so maybe 1-1 if we can score that is!!!

Daggers Posted 6 February 2008 Posted 6 February 2008 In light of the obvious influx of chromosome-challenged from the South-West, pending our forthcoming fixture, is it not possible to ban new members from making posts until they have made 50 posts?

jbrommo Posted 6 February 2008 Posted 6 February 2008 Not an imposter a realist!!! At the end of the day the nature of sport is that people wether they be players/coaches/managers move on, we should see it as a sign of success and get over it!! i met ollie at his book signing at The Walkers and was mightily impressed by the bloke, and he also replied to a letter i wrote to him, so in my books a top bloke, and sod the argyle fans who are bitter and twisted!!!
