Plymouth Chairman Slams Ollie for Crippling Argyle

No.

The sailors are too busy getting pissed and fighting on the streets to live up to their gay stereotypes.

Plus, always remember that just because Plymouth is a naval city, it doesn't mean everyone from Plymouth is in the navy, let alone in the navy and based in Plymouth. Over time, you will work it out. I must say though I'm pleased they've got the internet in Leicester now.

I quite enjoy these therapeutic sessions.

P.S. as for anyone telling us to get lost, we've got three gobby little Leicester scrotes on our forums compared to me and the racist.

Think yourselves lucky!

At least we didn't get so excited about it that we called one of our messageboards Leicester City Supporters On The Internet.

Ollies agent says he won't make a comment, as "the matter is now subject to legal action."

The whole things just getting stupid. At first I thought some of the comments being made by our fans were a bith rich, remembering the slamming Brian Little got when Villa came to Filbert Street. This is reaching all new levels of increadible biterness. Even the chairmans in on the act.

War of words by Andy Mann

Leicester City chairman Milan Mandaric has become embroiled in a war of words with his Plymouth Argyle counterpart Paul Stapleton.

City meet the Pilgrims in a crucial Championship clash at the Walkers Stadium on Saturday.

The Argyle supporters are still angry at Ian Holloway's departure for City in November, but the Blue Army are set to show their backing for their manager by wearing “Ollie” masks.

Stapleton yesterday re-opened the wounds by claiming Holloway was to blame for the January exit of players from Home Park.

However, Mandaric leapt to the defence of his manager and described the accusations as “mind games”, and said he was “saddened and disappointed” by Stapleton's comments and their timing, coming just three days before their televised visit to Leicester.

In a statement released last night on the City website, Mandaric said Stapleton should be giving Holloway “recognition and praise” for the team he built at Home Park.

And Mandaric urged City players and supporters to concentrate on Saturday's clash between the two teams.

He said: “I am saddened and disappointed by Paul Stapleton's comments and the timing of them just three days before our crucial game against Plymouth at the Walkers Stadium.

“One thing their chairman fails to mention is the amount of quality players Ollie brought to Home Park and the team he built under difficult circumstances and financial constraints.

“Surely Ollie deserves some recognition and praise for his efforts? But Plymouth's loss is Leicester City's gain.

“I am delighted Ollie is with us and the important thing is that we put these mind games to one side and concentrate on picking up three points on Saturday with the help of our players and supporters.

“In the short couple of meetings I've had with Paul, he has always conducted himself in a professional manner but, after reading these statements, all I can say is that it's not all about their chairman crying all the way to the bank.”

Mandaric's comments came after Stapleton issued a lengthy six-part statement earlier in the day on the Plymouth website in which he claimed the January departures of Akos Buzsaky, Sylvan Ebanks-Blake, Dan Gosling, Barry Hayles and David Norris were influenced by Holloway.

Ebanks-Blake exploited a release clause in his deal to join Wolves, and Stapleton said: “The only way we could get Sylvan to sign for us from Manchester United was to agree to a clause that allowed him to leave if a club offered £1.5million for him. We knew agreeing to that clause was the only way we could get Sylvan, and Ian Holloway begged us to get him.

“What a lot of people do not know was that we tried to talk to his agent about a new contract which would have seen that clause removed for due financial consideration.

“But when the matter came up at a board meeting, Ian told us not to do it.

“Ian said he was not happy with Sylvan's level of fitness and sometimes questionable attitude, and said that, if we received an offer of £1.5m for him, we should accept it.”

Midfielder Norris joined Ipswich on deadline day after a month of speculation and Stapleton suggested Holloway was in part to blame for the move.

He said: “The problem began because last summer he was told by Ian Holloway that he could leave the club in January.

“David got a bit confused, I think, and believed that the board had agreed he could leave in January.

“January 2 came and he came to see me, saying he wanted to go. He saw me many more times in January, each time saying he wanted to go.”

England Under-17 international Gosling joined Everton and, while Stapleton said the club “couldn't stand in his way”, he claimed “the seeds had already been sown by Ian Holloway.”

Hungarian Buzsaky initially joined QPR on loan in November before making the move permanent last month, and Stapleton said: “We were talking about Buzsaky with Ian and agreed his wages for a new contract.

“Akos' agent wanted a chunk of money, which caused a bit of fuss. We were quite against paying that extra money because we felt it wasn't appropriate for a player who was already with us.

“Ian then said he was not fussed if Akos went. I told Ian that he didn't have to sell Akos. We would have kept him but you have got to back your manager.”

Stapleton said new manager Paul Sturrock was happy for Hayles to follow Holloway to City because he “didn't think he could get the best out him” as it was felt he would leave in the summer regardless.

And Stapleton insisted the timing of his statement had nothing to do with Saturday's trip to the Walkers Stadium.

He said: “All these things happened during Ian's tenure.

“But we didn't want Ian to go - we wanted him to see things through with us.

“I know some people will think that the timing of this is not the best, seeing as we play Leicester at the weekend, but these things have been on my mind for some time now.”

It is very hard not to get worked up over all this tripe!! Reading some Plymouth fans comments on that newspaper link really winds me up! Now saying that at least their club is run by fans of the club not some rich non-fan who wants to make money like he did at Pompey. To be honest, would be best day in their club's history if Manderic took over them and they would be chuffed!! It's just all bullshit!! Really hope we spank them 6-0 on Saturday!!! There becoming a bit like Leeds to me now, i.e I want to see them releagted, go in to admin, anything bad!!!!

phewww i feel so much better now, getting that off my chest!! :D

You'd think he'd have a better aim, given all the hunting they do in the country.

I think we're running out of insults. Can someone order a fresh batch ready for Saturday?

Yep, and he trundled away from the Walkers with nil point in tow, but at least he waited till he'd lost to start with the sour grapes.

Let's hope you suffer a similar fate on Saturday, then your chairman can kick off again
