TEAM FOR WATFORD

We really do need to start taking some chances and putting out, dare I say a more balanced team with a bit more of a 'structured' attacking formation. Despite yesterday's appalling performance and defeat we continue to have the best defensive record in this division 30 and the worst goals for 29.

None of this desperate 4 striker bollocks we need to get more people in the team that can pass, move forward quickly and be calm and collected in front of goal.

This needs to start right at the back with Alnwick looking to throw the ball out and for the defence to be ready to receive it. Yesterday and during the reserves game it was obvious that this was how Clapham has been used to playing and yet Alnwick continued to hoof it out. The management must instil some degree of confidence, in the goalkeeper that the full backs and midfield in particular are capable of receiving these passes.

If we don't get this right the team will continue to hoof at every opportunity and I'm convinced this 'giving away' of the ball by the goalkeeper sets the tone and style of the game we play and is the major factor in our piss poor performance.

Oh and while they're at it teach them how to take a fooking throw-in.

It seems like Norwich away has made Ollie lose his nerve when it comes to setting up a balanced attacking line up, not since then have Bori and Laczko been on the pitch at the same time and Hume hasn't started upfront since then either

I know I already posted a team in here but I have changed my mind and its pretty much the same as Marks

we need to do something completely different selection wise for this game otherwise our miserable away record will continue

so I personally would like to see the following team selected

Alnwick

J. Chambers Stearman N'Gotty Mattock

Oakley© Wesolowski King

Hume

Campbell Fryatt

Subs Howard, Bori, Laczko, Kisnorbo, A. Chambers

McAuley and Kisnorbo were terrible against Plymouth and haven't been that great lately, N'Gotty's experience alongside Stearman extra pace and more composure on the ball is something worth trying in a game we don't expect to get anything from anyway.

Clemence is quite possibly the worst Leicester Captain I have ever witnessed, he strolls around not caring or motivating his team mates and gives the ball away all the time and should be dropped and made to play in the reserves until he gets some kind of form and the captaincy removed permanently from him, Wesolowski is that box to box terrier we are lacking and Andy King can split teams apart with his passing ability.

Hume has shown he is not a winger and I don't think he is an out and out striker either I believe this role just behind the front 2 would bring the best out of him.

Howard and Hayles have shown they can't work together and neither have shown the form to say they should stay in, with DJ's pace and Fryatt's touch and footballing brain that is a partnership I think could well be quite lethal for us, also it would mean the defenders can't just lump the ball up field like they have been and when we try and pass the ball we usually look good and a match for most teams and more importantly look like we may actually score

My choice would be

Alnwick (would prefer Fulop tho)

Stearman McAuley Kisnorbo Mattock

N'Gotty (between midfield and defence breaking things up)

Oakley Clemence Weslowski

Hume Fryatt

Play the ball straight through midfield to feet.

Subs: Chambers (Ashley), DJ Campbell, Chambers (James), Bori, King

or

Alnwick

Stearman McAuley Kisnorbo Mattock

Oakley Clemence Wesolowski

Fryatt (just behind front 2)

Hume DJ Campbell

110% agree. If people are playing bad but aren't being dropped it's only going to damage the team's morale.

Absolutely, that's why I suggested so many changes.

It's evident from this thread that many posters regard the McAuley-Kisnorbo partnership as sacred. It isn't. Neither are sufficiently dominant in their own penalty area. That weakness has cost us goals in both of the last two games.

And neither are inclined to use a simple 10-yard pass when a 70-yard hoof will do. Constantly giving away possession when trying to recover a deficit is irresponsibility bordering on treachery.

Yet both are among Holloway's chosen men, just as they were among Rob Kelly's. And they may earn him the same fate.

I've commented on the Kisnorbo and McAuley partnership for sometime now. They both frustrate the hell out of me. Why, after the amount of time they have been here, they haven't learnt to pass is well and truly beyond me.

Time after time yesterday, it was aimless hoofing towards the obvious target with Howard. By no means is Howard going to win every single ball, when he doesn't we end up in all sorts of problems. We rarely win the second ball and this notion only causes us to drop deeper and invite pressure on ourselves.

Both of them are good at winning balls in the air and tackling. But they both seem to lack severely in actual footballing ability. It's cost us on more than one occasion this season and it will carry on doing so until something is done about it.

The options? N Gotty isn't really the best passer of the ball, but still a good back up. Then you have Stearman - Many beleive he should move to centre back. Not convinced myself. I think he'd get bullied by a lot of strikers in this division.

So regarding Watford - I would probably drop McAuley and put in N Gotty, I have a feeling many will regret the decision not sell at the end of the season.

N'Gotty Kisnorbo McAuley Clarke,

Hume Clemence Wesolowski Shush!

Campbell De Vries

I like it ;) It's the line up that we played in the game that never happened on the 25th August

We looked intimidating from the back that day, a back 4 and keeper that looked big and solid.

Indeed. That was essential to cope with the opposition's physical style.

It's such a rarity to have a manager who analyses the opposition and takes action to counter their strengths. It's a shame the idea never caught on.

Like he did against Blackpool and Forest. Don't try and pretend Allen is some sort of tactical genius.

The present manager makes him look like Arsene Wenger!

He had one good result against Watford, a result that was no better than Holloway's win at Bristol City.

Holloway is having a stinker at the moment but he's spent a lot of his time sorting out the mess that Allen was partially responsible for in the summer.

I think thats being a bit kind to the bloke as well.

I think its about right.

Though Allen should have put his foot down a bit more instead of leaving it to that Mckay bloke or whatever his name was.

There was a reason why he was out of the door quicker than you could say Hossian Kaebi.

I see blind panic has set in yet again. If Ultra's team gets picked I'm getting straight back on the train home.

Alnwick

Stearman Kisnorbo McAuley Clapham

Bori Clemence Oakley Mattock

Campbell Howard

I don't know whether Hume's contract allows him to be dropped but it's something that needs to happen at the moment. There's only room for one of him and Campbell in the team.

Fez I really like the look of that team !!

I'd guess he was worried that if he put his foot down - Mandaric would shove his own foot somewhere in Allen.

Drop Clemence for King and we will beat Watford 4-1 again :D:D:D

:frusty: Never going to happen. You take optimism to a new level.

We still going to the play offs?

I think getting Gradel back this season would damage his career massively. We're not playing a way which would suit him. Throwing him in after playing well for Bournemouth and seemingly enjoying it would not help him.

Let him have this season, then implement him.

Good shout , let him continue there. It will benefit us massivly for next season . Then a good pre season and hopefully will be making the right wing position his own

Looks about right.

Could play a wild card thopugh and play Laczko upfront with campbell. He is pretty good in the air and offers more pace/movement than Howard. after all henri was a converted winger.

I await the abuse.
