Guest Posted 12 February 2008 Posted 12 February 2008 Just because I have now read the thread, it doesn't mean that I've calmed down.... Ben Alnwick has to take the blame for the goal, everygame he does that and it was bound to lead to a goal eventually. Wasn't Alnwick horribly at fault for the goal? In some respects, yes, he failed to deal with a relatively simple ball, however, the fact that Henderson had time to fold his newspaper, put down his cup of tea, and put out his fag before scoring is not the fault of the keeper. Like with everything else with this current team, we never react to anything. did his best limp wristed Elton John impression What ever gave you that idea...... Also, apologies on our time wasting and negative play at the end for those who went, I hate to see Watford do it at all, let alone at home. What the hell was the MultiBall all about???
lildave3 Posted 12 February 2008 Posted 12 February 2008 Do you think Ollie made the right team selection? And another question, was Clemence as bad as it sounded on the radio? Aside from Chambers it's what I would have gone for. I don't know, he was guilty of not looking wide on 3 or 4 occasions when Clapham/Laczko were in space. Yet another woeful performance. First off, a salute to those fans who went down to the game. You truly deserve a medal for your actions. Secondly, listening to Barber's commentary on the radio and then Ollie's comments after the game, one did not tally up with the other. Ollie suggested the play was much better than the last two games but Barber's commentary suggested otherwise. I know Barber ain't the best commentator in the world and some of his comments are way off the mark, but I got the distinct impression that Ollie is steadily losing the plot.Ollie's words of, 'don't talk like that, you'll have 'em all panicking back in Leicester' in his post-match comments are still ringing through my ears now. And yes, I for one am worried. The following games are now key: Cov (a), Preston (h), S****horpe (h), Colchester (h), Sheff Wed (h), Barnsley (a). Assuming a 50 point target to avoid relegation and the need for 16 points to achieve that, we need to win 5 games out of the above 6. And draw the other! Bugger. I'm worried. The remaining fixtures I have kindly left out, west brom, southampton, sheff utd all away etc etc, we've no chance of getting anything more than draws. Surely? So yes Ollie, I AM WORRIED!!! Convince me otherwise... Dowie anyone? Excuse me?
Guest Posted 12 February 2008 Posted 12 February 2008 And another question, was Clemence as bad as it sounded on the radio? I seriously doubt it.
FilboFox Posted 12 February 2008 Posted 12 February 2008 Lets get behind the team... surely it looks like there was some improvement on the Plymouth game. Back at home on Saturday and then we can really push to get the performances better and better in the next few weeks... things can surely only get better right?
Guest Posted 12 February 2008 Posted 12 February 2008 Lets get behind the team To be fair, the fans were behind the team, and the manager. It's just a shame that they couldn't respond accordingly.
LeeCovFox Posted 12 February 2008 Posted 12 February 2008 I'm probably being very naive. But is football not a simple game? Get the ball, pass it to your mate along the ground in the general direction of the goal until you get close enough to have a shot. Or of course you could be Leicester City, and do the following. HOOF! Jesus I can't wait until the summer when Ollie can bring in some players who are capable of playing the game properly. Failing that, just getting a few players who can win will do. I'm angry, and I'm scared right now. I felt like this last season, at just about the time that Nigel Worthington was brought in. I never thought I would feel that way again. I want this season to end more than I have ever wanted a season to end. I spend the summers looking forward to new football seasons, and for what?
Koke Posted 12 February 2008 Posted 12 February 2008 To be fair, the fans were behind the team, and the manager. It's just a shame that they couldn't respond accordingly. I'm being optimistic, but I do reckon we'll turn the corner sooner than later. Hopefully sooner.

It'll be a good motivating factor... after the Plymouth game, we booed them off and were really laying into them all match, if we show real support over and over again, no matter how poor the game is, then everything will be fine and they will start shooting back up the table with good wins that will inevitably come. WE WILL NOT GO DOWN IF WE BELIEVE!!!
General Smuts Posted 13 February 2008 Posted 13 February 2008 What ever gave you that idea...... What the hell was the MultiBall all about??? I did indeed rob that from you! That multiball lark even amused the Watford fans! It was ridiculous!

The exact same situation is evolving right in front of our very eyes - the only difference being the change in personnel this time round! I can't believe it. I'll tell you what though - I'm behind the manager and the players, just like I was with Kelly and the players last season, so what odds on Dowie in charge for the final 5 games of the season? I don't want it to happen, I can't see the point of it happening, but it could...

I don't want it to happen, I can't see the point of it happening, but it could... The sacking of Dowie is a huge concern for me in light of our recent form. We all know that Dowie has been Dowie's chosen man on more than one occasion. Only circumstances have prevented him from being our manager. I have to say that I rate Dowie, but I also rate Olllie, and I desperately don't want him to be sacked. Not so long ago I subscribed to the view that MM would'nt be so rash as to sack another manager this term. I'm now beginning to doubt my own judgement. The relationship between manager and chairman comes across as distinctly uneasy, and the more I think about the situation, the more likely I feel it is that current circumstances will tempt MM into bringing in the man he wanted at the Walkers in the first place before the summer.
ASH17LCFC Posted 13 February 2008 Posted 13 February 2008 Just got back and what a complete and utter disgrace. Being serious, fooked off and he needs to go. Just nothing tonight and take your crap with ya. DISGRACE
budfox Posted 13 February 2008 Posted 13 February 2008 Was his only mistake of the game, and he kept us in it at times with a few brilliant saves.Watford did indeed also defend brilliantly, but we were shite in attack aswell. Good job it wasnt crucial then................

Not if you lack the ability to pass, or I don;t know, there's ctually an opposition who can run and put you under pressure etc...

Guest Posted 13 February 2008 Posted 13 February 2008 Good job it wasnt crucial then................ The point is that the defeat could have been more comprehensive, if I'm not mistaken.

ASH17LCFC Posted 13 February 2008 Posted 13 February 2008 Oh, you're here. What pleasant news. Yea, still behind ollie hey ? Fooking shit we are. GOING DOWN unless we change it now. BILLY DAVIES I TELL YA.
LeeCovFox Posted 13 February 2008 Posted 13 February 2008 Not if you lack the ability to pass, or I don;t know, there's ctually an opposition who can run and put you under pressure etc... I was being facetious. But either way, other sides also face opposition who put them under pressure, and still manage to pass. Our players do have the ability to pass. And I don't even think that them not doing so is a tactical thing. I think its a confidence issue. They have lost the confidence in their own ability collectively, and so take the easy option and lump it to the big man.

Nor do I think we should be getting rid of Ollie. But I am increasingly of the mind that MM will get rid of Ollie. Unfortunately for you though, he won't be appointing Davies I wouldn't have thought. He will be appointing Dowie, his original chosen man.

Our players do have the ability to pass. And I don't even think that them not doing so is a tactical thing. I think its a confidence issue. They have lost the confidence in their own ability collectively, and so take the easy option and lump it to the big man. You could practically see the confidence ebb away. You're spot on with what you're saying. The biggest concern for me is that Watford allowed us to have all the possession and challenged us to come up with chances. We completely and utterly failed to do so.

You could argue that our current circumstances are solely down to the poor decisions made by MM himself. Allen and Megson, in particular, form part of that mismanagement of the club throughout the season. To be fair to Ollie, he has tried to change things, work with what he's got, bring his own players in etc etc, but to what effect? MM could quite possibly turn to Dowie before the end of the season, admit to his mistakes and put a certain spin on things to the effect of, 'I eventually got the man I wanted for the job to take us forwards'. Very harsh, but you wouldn't put it past him.

Getting Ollie was a mistake and we all make mistake in life and takes a bigger man to put his hands up and say i was wrong. I'm still behind Milan 100 %, he wants what we all wants and has put a good amount of money to the club. I just hope Milan gets rid of Ollie and brings in Davies.
Legend_in_blue Posted 13 February 2008 Posted 13 February 2008 Yea, still behind ollie hey ? Fooking shit we are. GOING DOWN unless we change it now. BILLY DAVIES I TELL YA. I take it you didn't have a good night out? At least you didn't freeze - you could've been in Blackpool all over again...!

We completely and utterly failed to do so. Not for the first time this season. You'd think that someone, somewhere, with any influence inside the club would have spotted this.
