Fez of Mahrez Posted 13 February 2008 Posted 13 February 2008 Not sure about that. :rolleyes. But I'm not going to bother. See, you can't even roll your eyes properly any more. Abandon hope, all ye who enter. We surrender.
Chimp Posted 13 February 2008 Posted 13 February 2008 In some respects, yes, he failed to deal with a relatively simple ball, however, the fact that Henderson had time to fold his newspaper, put down his cup of tea, and put out his fag before scoring is not the fault of the keeper. Like with everything else with this current team, we never react to anything. I think it's also interesting to note that this is the second goal we have conceded from that area of the pitch since Mattock was dropped and Clapham came in as LB. Who was at LB at the time the goal was scored? Was it Clapham or Chambers? Did they even know? Also, those saying "we can't even beat 10 men"... get a clue, it's easier to defend against 10 men but certainly not easier to score against them, especially when they have the lead and are commited to defending it.
The Reverend Posted 13 February 2008 Posted 13 February 2008 Also, on the sending off, very harsh i thought. Clem never had the pace to get away from the lad, If Clemence wouldnt have stopped and acted like an absolute nutbox, it wouldnt of even been a free kick.

It was up the other end so none of us had a great view of it and I haven't seen it back on TV but if he pulled Clemence back at all then it was a definite sending-off. It doesn't matter whether someone has the pace to get away if someone denies an opposing player a clear goalscoring opportunity using foul play.
Guest Posted 13 February 2008 Posted 13 February 2008 FFSEDIT: Nothing to do with anything but I needed to vent this........ it was well annoying to not get home from the match til 12.30 when I live in North London!! How did you get home? I live in Hackney, got bthe 10:15 to Euston, 10:37 from Euston to H&I (last tube) and home for 11ish. Went Met line then Piccadilly line. In hindsight it was a crap idea but it wasn't helped by the Met line being as slow as ever and the Piccadilly being held up too for some reason

Thats true, but thats not how it looked from what i saw. I meant Clemence wouldnt have had the pace to get past the 2 defenders closing in on either side. He still had a fair way to go. Thats why i think it was harsh.

One was with DJ and the other was O'Toole who was tracking Clemence. I'd need to see it again though as to how close the one marking DJ was to Clemence.

Guest Posted 13 February 2008 Posted 13 February 2008 Did you manage to get to the loo in the end? That queue in front of the ladies' room was massive. I gave up and tried again later. It wasn't worth the wait.
P_A_F_C Posted 13 February 2008 Posted 13 February 2008 Do I get the impression that Ollie is starting to sound a bit desperate? Just heard his interview on Radio Leicester and his little snipe at the end reminded me of David Brent! http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/t...ity/7242494.stm The worst thing is that when he gets the sack, he'll be paid off an awful lot of money for failing. In any other trade if you're not good enough you're sacked end of story. I reckon he deeply regrets leaving us, he was universally liked by fans and media alike but judging by a lot of comments on this forum, he's starting to wind you lot up as much as he wound us up.

Maybes Posted 14 February 2008 Posted 14 February 2008 What's the point? We're all going to die eventually, one way or the other. I love you fez.
MC Prussian Posted 16 February 2008 Posted 16 February 2008 Another quote from the current Holloway column on BBC Sport: Unfortunately we let a goal in against 10 men. But we're not the first team to do that and it's all about the next game - that's the one that matters. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/football/7245401.stm One word: Bollocks. Just another petty excuse for not being up for the job.
